In Secret Wars we need at least a scene with all of marvels characters in their best/comic accurate suits standing or fighting together or something. We can’t mess this opportunity up, like it’s right there at the rim for them to lay this up. I need all the iconic and recognizable suits on display with the actors all being available.

It may not be super transformative, but I could see 838 Tony just being a variant that wasn't able to relinquish his controlling nature and then has to learn from Peter how to sacrifice and let go a bit. The Ultron bots may have just been the surface of how far his need for control went. That way he's more gray than the outright villain version from the axis event.

Superior Iron Man would be intriguing. Have Spider-Man be the one to show him a different way, to soften his heart, and start his new hero's journey of redemption.

It can be tony from universe where all the avengers died because he didnt do enough (age of ultron steve line). Thanos killed all the avengers except tony to suffer till his death.

A similar arc to that of the worst Logan can be developed with drunk Tony

They use the timeline where Steve did fix everything when he went back in time so the avengers didn't have to fight Thanos. So tony didn't die. It's still partly the tony we know and the other characters we know and love

Just pause & take a breather, this explanation is the SAME approach to a "new" old character they did with Gamora just a different circumstance (timeline). Variants are just that, they can LOOK different, all look the same, or be from timelines and/or other universes. The possibilities are literally INFINITE (pun intended).

They can make Tony a very close variant. That’s the beauty of it- in fact, I think it would be the most meaningful if this Tony understands what happened, knows versions of these people in his own world and cares- but just isn’t the same one. It gives a lot of development to where a lot of those who lost him can get some closure and sort of confront his memory/ on the flip side, it gives this Tony some understanding of his purpose.

That would add a neat layer to him not wanting to tell Sam about it (or even explain why maybe he CAN'T tell him about it) and also add another layer to the final shot of him and Peggy.

I just don't understand what it means when y'all keep saying that bringing a person back undoes a great death. That must be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. There is nothing good about death. If someone died a noble death that benefitted me, perhaps saving my life, I would be forever grateful; but I would be happier if he didn't have to die, happier if he was able to come back after he died. If Tony Stark came back some kind of way, Pepper Pots and their daughter are still alive because of the sacrifice, and nothing is "undone," and they're happier having him back. Every year, you all celebrate Easter, never claiming that Jesus' resurrection undid his sacrificial death. Nobody ever even thought such a strange idea before, and you wouldn't even be saying it now if someone connected to Marvel had not have said it shortly after Endgame. He instructed you on what to think, and you all obeyed without thinking, and without giving any thought to what it is you're saying when you speak of Tony Stark's death being undone. Thanos would still be dead, and the people saved by Tony are still alive. What important thing, then, is it that 's "undone" after bringing a person back? I just don't understand. I don't know what's going on around here. I'm baffled! And, being honest, I like the movie "Logan," but I was very much surprised and disappointed when he died at the end. If I wanted to watch Rocky again, I would have stayed home and watched it.

Absolutely agree. I've had to listen to that puke for years when I've said I wanted the original Loki back. "No it'll undo the impact of his blahblahblah..." Even though original Loki had the worst death ever: OOC, cut his redemption arc short, and left his story with a proper ending or closure--just dropped like a footnote. Having his story completed in a satisfying way would have had much more impact than a cheap "shock-value" death. The shock wears off. The interesting story that could have been told is lost forever.

Kevin is the back bone to almost all the bad moves that have been happening with marvel lately. Do some research...

The simple one. Tony from a planet that lost. Like actually lost. End of endgame. Tony doesn't get the gauntlet. Thanos snaps and erases/resets everything, but keeps tony and himself. Tony as a prize of his winning. This tony could be a prisoner of war, who would be more viscious and relentless in doing what it takes to win. This Tony would kill. This tony would be isolated and have no regard for any other heroes, because in his universe they failed and let him suffer the consequences and they got to die. It's really dark but I mean..... How about Iron Man shows up but he's evil Invincible Iron man played by Tom Cruise and he's your enemy! Everyone thinks there's no hope. And you have all the Avengers go "Damn, half the time I wanted to punch Tony out but now , we need him!"
