    I personally think this should be a great product for those Sephora 10-year-olds because it takes exfoliate with no acids, so it still looks exfoliating, but it's not putting acids onto your face

  • @cheezarose

    @cheezarose

    10 years old don't need to exfoliate, not even teenagers do unless they are using BHA for acne control. It actually damages their healthy skin because they already have a rapid dead skin turn over,they are just speeding it even more leading to heavy over exfoliation which is the cause of many permanent skin conditions and sensitivities. Adults might want to use it because their skin is working slower and/or not well and so helping it along improves the skin texture. Even then unless you have skin issues or massive acne people in their early 20's don't need to worry too much about exfoliating. Once a week is enough. Starting in your late 20's to early 30's (depending per individual) is really when you start to see the benefits with exfoliating versus not. Still,people should always be careful about over exfoliating. Follow the directions on the products you are using and always increase with caution.

    I stopped using cotton pads once I bought a really expensive exfoliant (the first and only expensive skincare product I've ever bought) and saw a video where a guy compared to the amount of the product you waste if you put it on cotton pads versus just drop a small amount on your palm and use your fingers to apply it on your face. You could even put the toner in an old serum bottle and it works just as well, it lasts at MINIMUM twice as long as if you use pads.

    I have a clear silicone makeup blender and I use that to spread my glycolic acid toner. It's reusable so I don't have to throw it away, and it's solid (not porous), so not only does it not absorb any product, but it's also really easy to just rinse off and put back in it's spot for my next use.

    I disagree, don’t think it should be a pump. But I do think it definitely should have a stopper in it to limit the amount that comes out. Most toners have stoppers for a reason, they make sure that the toner comes out much more slowly and controlled so that you don’t pour out too much. Plus they keep the amount of bacteria that can get into the product way down since they reduce the size of the opening. A pump is just way too much extra packaging that isn’t necessary, a stopper is a tiny bit of plastic by comparison and does its’ job incredibly well!

    NAG is probably a bit too gentle for body exfoliation. What I would suggest is an exfoliating body wash. I love Naturium’s glycolic wash for normal to dry skin, love their salicylic wash for oily and acne prone skin, and their energizer mandelic acid body wash is great for combination skin while being the gentlest of the 3 but don’t let that fool you, it does WORK. Energizer also has a fermented sugarcane extract. That specific fermentation process produces enzymes that will prevent body odor with regular use. I still need deodorant with it if I’m going to sweat a lot a lot (like at the gym), but for daily life, I don’t need deodorant anymore.

    Think of it less as an exfoliating toner and more of a brightening toner.

    Citric acid is a common preservative. It’s probably a tiny amount added to make it inhospitable to bacteria. It can also be used to simply adjust the pH so that it is better suited for the skin.

    @@JashvinaGandhi yw-I’m lucky and only have sensitivity if I overdo the exfoliants and compromise my skin barrier. You might look for pH levels of products that interest you. Odds are the citric acid in this product is to lower the pH to make it more skin barrier friendly. Good luck 🙂
