@Doublsmm - the reason your HU keeps falling out is you need to install the metal clips that are on the back of the OEM cover, onto the plastic parts on the new Cover. It then clips in like OEM and there is no issue at all. Just got my unit today.

I have been planning on installing a new headunit, sub and amp for the door speakers for a while now and I have a couple of questions. Thanks in advance :) Have you had any problems with taking power to the amp from the rear battery? (Like balancing issues etc.) How did you tap into the wires for the front door speakers? And last, where did you buy the blue lights in the front where your feet are?

Hey I love the video. I just got an Axis head unit from autobarn and tried to fit that into a passat 2006 sedan 3c v6. I was able to get it up and running, but it keeps going into a boot loop soon after it starts up. Am I missing something. Can you please help? Am from Australia as well

Yeah, this headunit isn't "more powerful" as such as it is just delivering the signal to the factory amp but its eliminating the bass cut at high volumes and the subsonic filter it use to have at way too higher frequency!

Reason why your amp could be cutting out because it getting too hot or it's going to protect mode. but it's still better than the factory head unit

Nice - Not a huge fan of the shroud though given its for the CC, with the hazard blank at the bottom though. Did you solve the issue where it comes out with 1 finger? I also have an R36 B6, but the Variant. Been hunting for a head unit and narrowing things down, didnt realise the 10" would fit. Really hope I can find one where the shroud is suited to the B6 and not the CC though, that would just drive me bonkers I think. PS - where did you get your R36 floor mats?

@@samuelnyambati5566 I ordered the same unit but with higher resolution, 1280x720 - still in transit, delayed due to Covid-19. I ordered an extra frame so I can play with that, as I plan to modify the button space at the bottom to be the Passenger Airbag light. Should work out quite nicely I think. Ill 3D print something, fill, prime and then paint the whole frame a uniform colour.

Do you have dynaudio?

Im pretty sure you need to remove the screen from the frame, an fix the frame to the car dash. Then pop back the screen.

Hey see you're having trouble attaching the frame to android unit, You just take clips from the original frame and put them over to the new android frame, problem solved, the new frame sits as it should.

After trying an aftermarket headunit I had a big problem with parasitary curent draw... it was as high as 2 amp/hour when car was "sleeping"... so that ment battery dead in 2 days of not running.... you should check it!

Yeah this was a concern of mine as well, this headunit powers off completely when the car is put into the off position so I don't experience any current draw issues from it, more-so my dash cameras which are recording 24/7

Not sure if it is an openly available app as it come with the headunit out of the box!

My 2006 B6 Passat has a slow battery drain after installing this aftermarket radio. I have it wired in as per instructions with the canbus box and it works fine except it goes into a restart loop on dim brightness over and over again draining the battery. Anyone have a way to fix this?

@@samuelnyambati5566 same unit. I fixed it and it no longer drains battery or goes into a restart loop. Had to cut can high and can low wires from original radio harness plug and splice ok the wires from the back of the a/c controls which also use canbus high and canbus low wires. You need to remove.ghe radio and AC control but it's the only wiring fix I have come across for this car
