I wouldn’t remove the side trims to paint them, they will either break or the clips will all need replacing Just carefully mask them off and plasticoat them, same as the window chrome, although it may be easier to use wrap on the window areas

To do your window surronds id wrap them , i found a dechrome kit on ebay which is basicly like a 10m thin strip of wrap to do the window surrounds cost me £20 which im going to attempt myself

Looks so much better after now up front. Maybe have a look at Lamin-X tint sheets for the headlights, a light smoke/tint would look good. As for the window surrounds, Guess you could either take loads of time cleaning and then masking everything off before spraying... or what could be easier! Find some matt black 3M vinyl wrap sheets/strips and wrap them up. Personally, I'd wrap the window surrounds, maybe de-wiper the rear too and as everyone else has mentioned, coils, wheels, lows. Done!

I like the chrome on a Passat, but this is really cool. It looks a lot better than I would have thought!

The chrome strip on the doors are they just stuck on with that sticky tape stuff or is there something else holding them on. I dont want to take mine off and find oot it's just not tape holding them on.

Just wrap around the windows alot easier. The rear quarter chromes are part of the whole glass assembly 👍

Hey bud..You could also use Hammerite - Tornado-Red paint your calipers....The VW Badges..you could always go for the black-German-army badge, back & front..or..gunmetal-them..so they look darker-metal....Was wondering..would a "clear-lacquer" over the top as it dries might give it a bit of extra-gloss?....7:27 Mask the area..then get a small artist-brush..and use Hammerite-Black on them..Removing them could cause damage..although u could try a suppose.

I like the chrome grill reminds me of the r32

window trim use black tape lol seen a lot guys use it and works

Helios are quality just a shame they have a tendency to cracking

I would just buy a little touch up paint for the bonnet

is the passat b6 2.0 tdi good for a first car? i heard the 2.0 tdi had a lot of problems, any thoughts?

Go for the 1.9 mate.Have a 58 plate estate and it was a little slow but with a soft remap,runs like a dream.Bought it at 127k last year in May.Now it's got 163k with tyres and oile and filters and an injector failed.Now it depends how the car was taken care of.

Mask and dip the chrome window surround.... you can't remove them. Same with the bumper inserts and door inserts.... if you remove them they break and you'll need new ones and they ain't cheap

try to tape the windows and paint it over

should have sanded it down for more better tacking because will come off easy

I know you’re trying to loose the chrome. But thought about some chrome exhaust tips to slide over yours? Or some gloss blacks ones?

I just bought a 330 e46 not m3 but their so nice to drive so I could imagine the m3 is just the same. I have had many cars including mk4 golf r32 and my bmw is far better and a lot faster.

I got a Mk4 1.8t running 200bhp bang on 293 tq on coil overs that's my daily love it had it 3years m3 is a great car but owning one is expensive for a daily

With plastidip you dont need to remove the window trim. Mask the area around them a bit. Any excess you can rub off with your finger.

The emblems would have been better just as chrome. Not a fan of black emblems on a black car... For the window trim you just gotta mask the car and plastidip them.

At least you didn’t use the GTI valance technique of spraying...

to be honest the grill is the worst part of the cromed part. i like the side with chrome and everything. but the front with a stained chrome looks so bad. i have a red passat with chrome package. and well they dont look to apealing.

Honestly sounds dodgy as hell but dechrome round your windows with electricians tape. Did my 5.5 with it and it looks okay considering. I think fly eye rear lights and top brake light too man, would look fully sick!

BWTV ah fair enough, nothing can prepare you for the thrill of a motorbike, if you complete a cbt(Compulsory basic training) you are eligible for a 125cc bike.

Why did VW even make this stock, I hate the chrome bumper it looks ugly.
