Wheelie bar on FWD car seems sort of pointless imo. Edit: I got it! You set it millimeters off the ground so when car squats it serves as a wheelbase extender of sorts giving you more traction!

Actually has a great purpose. This front of the car still wants to lift with fwd which would lighten the front and reduce traction.

You got it. I thought the same until I saw it in action. The squat on fwd cars is always kryptonite for traction. Their bar basically limits their rear end suspension travel, essentially forcing the front end to grip.

Yep. You can imagine, that would one make the bar really long and raise the rear wheels off the ground, basically all of the cars weight would remain on the front wheels at all times.

400 hp is easily archivable with that engine, plenty of them arround with forged rods and pistons, stock block and head i believe...Its a very strong block design EA827 old school.

Im Prinzip ja. Durch die abstützung kann die Hinterachse nicht so weit einfedern und die Kraft bleibt dadurch auf der Vorderachse.

Geht weniger um das eintauchen hinten. So könnte man ja auch die Dämpfer hinten Starr oder hart machen. Durch die Fliehkraft des labbrigen Reifens vorne, hebt der vordere Teil des Wagens sich stark an und der Reifen hat dann nur noch eine schmale Fläche die für Grip sorgt. In dem Fall unterbindet die Wheeliebar das und der Reifen hat mehr Fläche da der Wagen vorne nicht so weit hochgedrückt wird. Wenn du mal die richtig starken Dragster siehst, wie der Reifen schmal wird beim Burnout dann wird es einem direkt klar. Diese Wheeliebar macht eben nur bei dieser Art von Bereifung Sinn.

Ezra Lynn yes, you can retard ignition before a ignition event, and even with ignition cut you can choose a percentage of it. With good tuning you can get really good 60ft and half track speed

Wahrscheinlich damit der hinten nicht einsinkt und somit mehr Gewicht auf den Vorderrädern ist, weil der dann mehr Traktion hat

@@jannisbraun9580 Ja, die Abstüzung des Hecks reduziert die "Achslastverschiebung". Das sichert den Vortrieb, aber noch wichtiger die Lenkbarkeit. Deshalb ist die auch bei Hecktrieblern nützlich, die in der Traktion von der Achslastverschiebung profitieren.

It's not a wheelie bar in this case, it's a traction bar. Keeps the front end more planted while weight transfers to the rear.

Because the car at the front has no traction and the tyres do not get grip. When starting, he goes up in front and the wheelebar pushes him down at the front.

Never driven a fwd turboed car I guess. 😌 The worst you can do is going uphill and push it. Zero traction.
