@@CygnusPrime 11,000hp in a single pass engine, vs a road going and road legal 1,200hp . Try comparing the V8's doing dragweek or similar events, then you are only looking at 2000 maybe 2500hp from a 6.0 or even larger V8. The 2.0 4cly looks pretty good.

CygnusPrime i think the Most germans just think (or know) that america has no engine culture. That means everybody can build a big 8L V8, but the art of building an engine with just 2L and make it so powerful like that is the highest level you can reach. Japanese know what i'm talking about 😜✌🏻

Of course we have no shortage of capable 4 cyl.powered cars here too! Most sport compact class cars are Honda, This VW Golf mk2 would be a great representation for VW enthusiasts! Too many Golfs and GTI's just aren't built right and usually self destruct! Of course they weren't spending the money on the right parts and equipment either ( my opinion). Honda people says they don't have to spend as much money as the VW guys to get the job done. All of them spend too much money!

US requires a safety inspection before you can race. As soon as he went under 10 seconds in the quarter mile he would be not allowed to race til he installed a certified cage for the speed and ET he goes. Guy I knew had a Lexus SC 300 with 32 lbs boost turbo and broke 10 secs and was not allowed to race any more due to no roll cage. Anyways still love his car and driving skill. Would love to see him add a cage to it for safety but to each his own. I am not his keeper.

Lustig wie alle sagen, er würde den Start verpennen und hätte sonst bessere Zeiten...bla bla bla der verschläft den Start nicht, dass ist denke Absicht. Schau mal wie der schlingert wegen der Traktion, deswegen wartet er bis der andere etwas weg ist Und außerdem gibt die Ampel die Strecke nur frei, Zeit wird erst gemessen wenn er am Start über die Lichtschranke kommt. Er könnte auch erst nach 5min losfahren wenn er wollte Es geht hauptsächlich nur um Zeiten, nicht wer zuerst übers Ziel kommt 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ok, danke für die Erklärung, ich hatte mich das nämlich auch gefragt. Aber es ist auch so viel sinnvoller, denn es soll ja die Leistung des Autos und nicht die Reaktionszeit des Fahrers gemessen werden. Und für die Sicherheit auch besser wenn die nicht nebeneinander sind....

At that power level they are using a sequential transmission of some kind. No way would a DSG work in this application.

Es ist einfach Wahnsinn wie dieser kleine, äußerlich unscheinbare Golf fährt. Die Zeiten sind atemberaubend und der im Vergleich winzige 2,0L Motor lehrt den ganzen V8 Kisteh das Fürchten... selbst mit einem Start der fast 3 sec später war, als der des Konkurrenten. Einfach hammer Männer. Macht weiter so. BOOST is a passion 🤘🏻

@@inkubu666 Was - und nun ich .. ? Strassenzulassung aha .. darum gehts aber nunmal nicht , sondern um ZEITEN ! Und erzähl mir nicht das ein aufgeblasener 2l Wolfsburger mit doppelturbo mit über 1200 PS auch nur 200km Strasse hällt - wenn man die Kraft auch ausnutzt.Die Leute von solch Projekten sind auch nur wochenlang am Schrauben - weil sich bei solch Leistung alles mögliche Zerlegt. An dem Golf ist mit Sicherheit nichts mehr Original - vielleicht noch der Aschenbecher - also Pustekuchen. Das selbe kann ich mit jeder x-beliebigen Kiste veranstalten - 4WD rein - 3000 PS auf 12 Zylindern und ne Trabbihülle drüber. Und dann rumprotzen was man fürn tollen Trabbi doch hat. Muss jeder selber wissen wie und wo er seine Kohlen verbrennt. Ruhm ist für mich etwas ganz ganz anderes.. Und PS - mit 1200 PS wirst du bei gewissen Klassen erst gar nicht aufs Gelände gelassen - ab 5000 gehts da los. Ganz egal ob du auf eigener Achse oder mitn Trailer da anrauschst.

Ok, that is one of the coolest most bad ass Rabbits I've ever seen! And I love that it looks totally stock on the outside, with unbelievable ET's, a consistent 8 second car... Props to the driver/builder, EXCEPT, the guy has an obvious death wish. I don't mean to be so rude, but it takes a special kind of stupid to run a car that quick without a full roll cage. Hell he doesn't even have a roll bar, something that ANYONE who runs the 1/4 mile, even a 13 second car should have. Anything under 11.50's should have a roll bar and side bars, and anything under 10 seconds should be a full cage... I mean, the guy has a nice race suit, helmet, and race seat... so at least he's thinking a little. But no cage is insane. C'mon buddy, the car obviously has handling issues, you're having a hell of a time keeping it in your lane, and it's wicked quick, but one wreck and they'll be scraping what's left of your crushed body out of that little tin can of a car. I'll keep my opinions of the obvious lack of track rules to myself, because in the end, it's all up to the racer to keep themselves safe. But hey dude, awesome car... Hate to see you dead... Spring for a cage, you won't lose any ET from the weight, rather, you'll pick up ET and better handling from stiffening up the chassis.

Why does this rocket not have a roll cage ? Regulations in Germany are very dangerous. BTW the first run he crossed the centre line that should have been a disqualification. Nevertheless a sleeper rocket that is just fantastic

@@guyguyguy362 Yeah but these German front wheel drive cars actually handle. Remember the Corvair, Chev Vega, Ford Pinto, etc, etc, Vega was even clever enough to have an aluminium (Sp!) block and no liners - to save $$$.

Fun Fact: In 8,47 Sekunden macht die ISS die Vierteimeile 161 mal :-) Bobas Golf beschleunigt auf der Viertelmeile durchschnittlich mit 8,82 m/s^2. Wenn er die Beschleunigung eine Viertelstunde lang schafft, ist er so schnell wie die ISS.

Ich wage jetzt mal zu behaupten, dass der 300er Tacho nicht serienmässig ist :)

... naja ... meines Wissen muß ein Tacho bis 50km/h genau gehen - drüber darf Er bis zu 10% des maximalen Skalenwert zu viel anzeigen. Auch deshalb war in vielen Autos früher ein Tacho mit Max-Geschwindigkeiten verbaut, Die das Auto NIE gesehen hat - damit der Tacho billiger werden kann - Genauigkeit kostet Geld - und ein Tacho bis 200 (für so einen Golf 1 ... ist lange her :) ) sieht doch toll aus - dann noch blau beleuchtet und man braucht Brandsalbe für die Finger ... *pfeif*
