I just bought one! It caught my eye while at Home Depot, I had to have it! Bought it right off the showroom floor, along with the cover. I can't wait until it warms up a little more here in WI.
Can you please tell me the main grill grate dimensions? Looking to buy for my smoker if it fits. Thanks.
I just love that mindset “just shove it in there and find out”.

Lol! Thanks!
Great job CJ. I just bought one of these and it is being delivered tomorrow (Saturday). Can't wait. I looked at a lot of smokers and went with this one. If you can make it sing I figure I can too!!!!! Thanks CJ - Keep it smoky! John

Question. Will the bottom main sliding grate fit on the upper rails?
I have one of these grills, and love it, but has anyone noticed that the temp gauge that comes with the grill has calibrations in 12.5 F increments…kind of odd?
Awesome cook, buddy. You really did max that puppy out!

What did you do, cook for the neighborhood? I’d like to see fire management on that offset and where it’s leaking smoke? I seen a lot of smoke coming out of the firebox door when you had it closed
@CjsQue

Felt like it! We’re eating good all week. And yeah there’s some leaks around the fire box. But I got impatient and closed it down before it caught. I’ll do a start to finish cook on it. And figure some mods too.
I have the same Smoker, it is not the best or perfect smoker, but It Is, Easily the best $500 smoker on earth.. I have been doing Briskets, Butts, Ribs, Etc, on it every weekend and it's a beast! Does so much better than my electric (pellet smoker). I've sold or trashed all other grills and smokers I owned. This HD does it all. Thank you for the Video brother 👍..

I’m with ya for sure! Thanks much. Cheers
Great video! How often did you have to add sticks, for the entire cook?
Competition Pro would I be able to cook fajita and chicken on the opposite side of the fire box without adding a new fire under them or would I need to add a fire underneath them ?
Hey man appreciate the video! I’m going to buy one this weekend. How much fuel do use to start? And maintain? From what I’ve seen it looks like people are using a chimney worth of coals and some wood. Thx for the help broz1
Hell yes 🙌 👏 Smokin/BBQ in the rain 🌧!!

Cj or other masters how often you dump ashes having problem getting wood to burn constantly whats causing this ?
How are you liking your grand champ? I’ve got my eye on one for when I eventually get an entry level offset.
Whats the rack made out of? Is it cast iron like the older model?
Are you running the heat diffuser or flipping the charcoal basket ? I’m noticing the smoke flavor is lacking on my xd any tips?
@CjsQue

I flip the main chamber ask basket over and push it to like an inch or so away from the fire box. Helps even the flow out.
Man that thing is packed!!! Hope it performed well, might have to pick one up!

@@buddahmayne9273 Home Depot $500 . for this price its unbeatable IMO. Yes I added all the same upgrades that CJ covers in his video's. I have smoked 5 briskets, and every other type of meat every weekend with great success. Pros. The sliding grates make it super easy to cook on, tons of space., easy to clean. Consistent temp control. Cons ... The lid was welded crooked, I put some extra gasket around it and its working fine. Same with the fire box had to add some gasket, no big deal.
Great stuff CJ! I'm very impressed with how much food you can fit on that thing...let's see a whole pig on that bad boy!

Do you find the baffle plate useful?

Not so much. But I was taught a trick by another youtuber, that if you turn the cooking chamber ash pan over and move it about an inch from the fire box whole, it distributes the heat better.
