Found your channel last night and binge watched till 530 in the morning 🤣🤣 Grew up in LA till i was 10, then dad's job transferred him out to Baker, CA. He worked for Cal-Trans. But we used to ditch school and haul ass out to Dumont on our quads. Thanks for the memories 😂😂

I appreciate that. Yeah it was crazy cloudy and stormy that weekend. Not great for showing the new car so much 😄 but great for running the dunes and reading the terrain.

@@LiveLikePete hell yeah i found ur channel a few months ago as soon as the St anthony dune life ended lol, but i binged watched ton of ur old videos, me and my dad used to go duning in our san rail but sadly we had to move and sold it, so its nostalgia watching these vids

Really nice car, always liked the shorter long travel cars. I still have an early 80's mid engine Fibetech that has not been out in at least 15 years, only fun when the sand is smooth...lol. Great video!

New car is stunning! I've got a Tech 3 myself and was a fan of your old car too. I'm running a 2.3 Ford turbo which gets us around fine but of course more ponies and less weight (that Ford is all iron) would be nice. Anyway love the red! Great to see you back at the KZreads! I really appreciate the coverage you produced on that Idaho trip. I was sharing those videos to our Oregon sand group as they came out. Look forward to the content in '24 with the red beast!

They're both full size cars. 😄 Or do you mean 2 seaters? But both 2 seat DD & well set up Tech 3s are pretty rare to find these days. They go quick too when they go up for sale.

I knew they were normal size on the width but figured they were alot less in length. basically no LS v8 and 4 seats would seem to be alot shorter. They are very rare , last tech 3 i found for sale was in 2020 i believe. 1/2 our group has both sxs and sand car. The SCU honda powered is only one that never breaks , even the brand new tatum w/ 1400 hp destroyed his tranny in nov.

he got old in the last year. he just visited me in kingman 2 days ago. he hasn't been to dumont in 3 years. we did go to st anthony a year n a half ago. i will see if i can get him to go soon.

when i moved it took all i had to git out of calipornia. i had no time or money. i got my 4000 sq ft shop built, and have recovered since. you'll see me there soon, i hope.

No not yet. I actually tried but totally messed up and had it on photo mode instead of video. So it didn't even record anything. 🤦‍♂️🤣 It requires a lot of time, effort and patience which I have had zero of lately. 😄 I do want to see it for myself so I'll try to get some next trip out.

Not sure I know what you mean by stand alone ECU. The fuel enrichment on my Tech 3 was a little different setup with a separate module and additional injectors. This car was set up by Karl at VTech with an FMU.

@@LiveLikePete Sounds like both cars are a modified stock ECU. A Stand alone ECU is aftermarket ECU that can run any engine like a link, AEM stinger ect. With a stand alone ECU it manages the fuel and timing (no FMU) and can be dyno tuned. The FMU setup works but its not the best and generally makes the timing pretty advanced, however racegas protects the engine and Stand alone you can probably run alittle less octane. I say if it ain't broke don't fix it. Pour some race gas in the tank and dune!!

@@Thriver106 ahh gotcha. Yeah, I don't mess with any of that. This car and my old Tech 3 are simple, old-school setups that have been run like that since the 2000's. They make 400+ HP and always run on race gas. They are dependable, great running machines. Thanks for the clarification. So many different terms are always being thrown around. I never know what people are referring to. lol

What's the cooling system setup?

Cooling system? Aluminum radiator with two fans. No intercooler if that's what you mean. I plan to probably add one eventually though. Cheap, and easy horsepower.
