The headlight makes it look like a cheap 125, but otherwise I like it. Finally an adventure bike that isn't a $20k toy for retired dentists to do 200 miles a year on.

This is great. I had a Trans650 back in the day and love it to pieces. What was so great about that bike was the balance. It was as good of a commuter as it was a great long distance traveler. It was as comfortable on long streets rides as it was capable off-road. It had everything you needed and nothing you dont. This bike seems to follow that recipe and i already love it

22 kg less than the Suzuki is a much bigger deal to me than the HP.
@HartyBiker
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I was thinking that too. When you've lost traction on the rear it doesn't really matter if you have an extra 10 or 20 hp, it matters how you can get that power down. Likewise when you're on slower more technical terrain you don't need 90hp, you need a good chassis and suspension, ideally lightweight. I wouldn't think the T7 has less hp only because they couldn't get more power out of the engine but because it doesn't really need it. Anyway that's my opinion after having only dreamed of riding any of these (I'm poor lol).
Looking for something to commute and bod around on at the weekends and this is hitting a few right spots
Bob, you’re killing it. Sir, you have this game on lock. Keep rolling and we shall keep watching. 👀
It's a XL750. Honda have always made their XL models more road focused. The XR models from Honda are more dirt focused.
Should be a great all arounder bike with plenty of power if you want to really rip and will handle the crappiest roads with ease. As with the Africa Twin the black looks awesome.
Nice! Im lookin for a winter/gravel bike and this might be the one!
Good work, matey! You had a long day yesterday!!
Low slung exhaust tubes, no bash plate, low mounted silencer. I guess most people wont venture offroad but the original tranny had a plastic bashplate and high silencer and decent ground clearance. good looking bike and spec I like it
Had the XL700V for many years. That engine and gearbox was not a good combination, I'm glad to see that it now has a six speed 'box in it. I think you'll be lucky to get 300kms before needing fuel. They really needed to add another 5 litres or more to the tank in the new one. Real world fuel consumption; I would expect 6 to 6.5 litres per 100kms. The fuel injection couldn't have improved that much over the years. You're still pushing a lot of wind out of the way on the highways, never mind riding on the loose stuff. Glad to see the return of larger wheels too.
If they insist on mounting the exaust that low down they could at least give you a quality bash plate as standard. I would be scared to take it anywhere near a dirt track without a bash plate. I noticed in the video of the bike being ridden it had one fitted already.
It is one beautiful pogo stick!
Ordered one yesterday, so let’s hope it lives up to the hype🤔
You’re on fire 🔥
Thanks for the introduction to the bike. Where do reviewers get this from that the ‘crank’ of a dual twin makes a V engine feel or sound? For me it doesn’t matter how you mount an engine, it will not change its sound or feel. The V feel you get through the long stroke this engine has, in comparison to the short stroke of for example the sporty KTM V engines. What I mean with ling strokes... a steam engine has a long stroke, low HP but immense torque
Look at that exhaust hanging down!!
Are adventure bikes agile and flickable in the twisties, or would the naked style Hornet perform better there? Which bike would be better for long distance touring with luggage? Thanks 🏍
Would be great if Honda did a 'road biased' variant for us non off roadie types but like an 'adventure' style at least. Same with the Suzuki 800. It looked very tall when you swung a leg over.....

Road version? It's called a Hornet
I'd have the hornet in black but if I wanted a slight off roader yeh the transalp would suffice.
I keep seeing it flash up on ads that it is A2 compliant, is that correct with 90hp?
Think you will find there is a wider selection of 17 inch rear tyres than 18 inch.
Splendid 😊
Both Honda and Suzuki have made a great job, cruise control could have been at least as an option, but otherwise quite similar specs and I would really like test riding both of them. Power difference could not bee that noticeable, however 22kg weight difference could be more noticeable. Look wise Suzuki is better and more modern and aggressive in my opinion. However the front light of Suzuki should be tested really good before touring on that one, because it looks that designers were in charge instead of engineers, but we have to see the reality in test rides = ). Transalp can be pre-ordered in Finland already for 16000 euros, if we take our insane vehicle tax out of the price, it is will be around 12500-13000eur, which is pretty close for 11000pounds. However it can be cheaper in UK due tight competition in mid-class of adventure bikes. At least Africa Twin is significantly cheaper in UK compared to Finland. I guess 10 000 pounds is good estimation given by you.

For our market, factory fitted heated grips will always beat CC as a standard fitment. Triumph made an error with their 1200 Bonneville in that CC now comes standard vs heated grips which are now an option. Clearly they were pandering to the USA market. But, you're right and hopefully CC will be an easy fit, not too expensive option?

without having any test ride just looking on specs, I think Suzuki will be better in touring purposes, but Honda will take the first place in being more fun and capable off road. In terms of reliability I think they will be both good as Japanese bikes are in general.
I’m here to see if there’s any news of a sport tourer based on this 750 platform.
How will a skid plate work on his bike since the exhaust is underneath it
208kg without any crash protection and almost no luggage carrying capacity? At least it's got a rear carrier. It has the same problem as all other Japanese adventure bikes: it's carrying it's weigh really high up. I was hoping it would pull a few tricks off the NC series: - tilting the engine further forward - using a shallow oil sump - fitting the tank under the seat (making soace a lovely cubby where the tank would usually go). As is, it's a taller, heavier CB500x with 21" front. I've made the decision that I will eventually sell my CB500x. A bike that I appreciate a lot and I've made more suited to go off-road. I'm not yet 100% sure when. When it's once, I won't be going back to bikes that carry so much weight high up. I can only just pick up my "lightweight 500x" when it's loaded. There's 0 chance if it lands on a slippery surfaces. I also wonder, what maintenance and spark plug access will be like if you drown this bike on a trail. The 500x is already a pain on the neck for accessing the plugs and you need a super long socket extension to remove spark plugs. The reviewers will of course be gloating all over this bike. As far as I can tell, it's going to be another touring, rally bike hybrid. To most riders it will be a liability on challenging trails and get lots of owners into trouble on outback roads. I started calling the T7 "widow maker" for its extremely frequent getting it's owners carried away by the bikes good handling at high speed and get themselves into oh-💩 moments.
