I used to, and even now, I still feel extremely fortunate to know and apply Stoic wisdom in my daily life. I felt so peaceful, I returned inside to understand myself, understand the origin of everything. That helps me feel more peaceful every day.

I agree. Other people are always dying to talk about themselves and be heard. Act interested, ask relevant questions and stay silent. They’ll think you’re the best person on the planet because you gave them space and permission to talk about themselves. Little do they realise you easily kept your private info private and had a positive interaction with them. Everyone’s a winner.

You do realize that stoicism is older then the bible do you? So the bible took this knowledge from stoicism and not stoicism from the bible 🎉
In a culture of "transparency" where people gush about every trauma, experience, opinion, ideal, stoicism is refreshing.

Well said except luck DOESN'T exist. Imagine God being dumb enough that he would leave our destinies and future up to a fictional inanimate thing called luck. One of the derivatives of the word luck is Lucifer 🥴
I do take some issue with #10 (not discussing past failures with others). Many times I have discussed my failures with others and consequently have been given better insight into where I went wrong and how to proceed.

I think it's more of a careful selection of who you tell. People will begin to see patterns in your behavior that are not there if you tell them something you failed in before. It's a tool against you in the wrong hands

Such a refreshing perspective on life! This video made me rethink the value of silence and keeping certain aspects of our journey private. The stoic wisdom resonates deeply, urging us to find strength in quiet growth. Definitely a powerful reminder in our noisy world!
Lesson #1 I totally agree with. When you become successful, getting approval from society or social media, driving the latest hyper car, wearing a $100,000 watch or whatever stupidly overpriced trend in. Invest in the community like having a business having a business that can benefit the entire community. When you're successful, you have an obligation to help those in need. By helping I mean educating, job training, scholarship for colleges or universities. Also, to help them change their mind set, way of thinking. These are wise lessons.

These are many of the principles that I have learnt to follow as an artist. You must be stoic and reserved in what you reveal to others. You just keep going, regardless of success or failure. Making art is what I do, it is who I am. Most friends and family don’t understand.

Ah yes, I resonate with much of what is shared here. I find this comment interesting as its tone seems of jest though referring to serious lessons indeed. Where does the “dignity of silence,” and withheld ambitions in the context of the development of romantic partnerships become deception and a play for dominance?

Pretty great👍👍👍Listening made me wonder why the hell did i learn to verbalize too much? Early in the video was mentioned "culture of self promotion", then later "pressure to project image of perfection". Right on! In my family of origin these were emphasized, the need to be awesome. Feeling inadequate, i bought into it. What a massive chore to subdue demons of insecurity. In The Gospel of Mark, didn't Jesus repeatedly admonish others to not tell about the miracles witnessed
