Yeah, i was baffled too at first. But then i got over it. I think its psychological. Like maybe he understands hes below jocko or something liek that? i dont know. But if youve heard him speak in other podcasts it deepens out a bit. I get it too sometimes when i feel small in a crowded room. Im a big guy and people ahve told me i have a soft voice at times.

Most people in the US don't appreciate how good we have it in this Country, just stop and think of other people in the world that have no clean water or food (the basics) here in America we can come and go as we please and there is food everywhere. We did not have these things given to us, these things were earned by others giving their lives for us. Thank you Military and Police.

I thought the same thing today. Had to get my new running shoes customized to my right foot since regular shoes don't fit quite right. And you know what? My basic health insurance is going to pay for it. It's not like that's a crazy issue, but that's just more proof that we should not complain EVER. If you're living in a western country in the 21st century, you hit the lottery.

Not necessarily... Bitching can be cathartic. Just RECOGNIZE at some point and on some level that it's just that... bitching. Look, I agree with Jocko and Echo. We really don't have much of anything to complain about genuinely. BUT there's a natural part of your biochemistry that's inherently Programmed to see negatives from the perspective of your own lifestyle and general comfort level. It's stressful to see those negatives, even the little meaningless ones, so the secret is to be able to put the "bitching" into perspective in a healthy manner. Well... we have other stresses and "stressers" to deal with daily, too. AND like a pressure cooker without a "safety release" we build up "steam"... It's a perfectly healthy practice to "vent the steam" from time to time, and so long as you're not hurting anyone or interfering needlessly with the work that NEEDS to go on... who really cares? Bitch... Bitch about whatever ails you. Just understand that you're probably just bitching about petty shit, and you're still okay. It's even good to get with friends and make a BIG old joke of the whole issue. Hell, some people (stand up comics?) make a lucrative living doing exactly that. ;o)

I remember being homeless years ago this is how I started my adult life. Waking up behind dumpsters thanking God you weren't caught. If everyone got to walk in those shoes for a month I think it would make the world a better place to live in because you will have humility and compassion and gratitude in things you don't even acknowledge in everyday life.

Whining is for losers. That doesn't mean you shouldn't speak up when you believe things are wrong. You must! You can't accept injustice. You must protest. Yet, when you face difficult circumstances, whining doesn't help. You just have to power through.

I used to believe in “powering through” and burnt myself out badly. My physical therapist friend deals with physical injuries that come out of the military. “Pain isn’t weakness leaving the body, pain is pain” - lots of permanent damage done by stupid repetitive practices. Anyway, I think complaining and self-compassion are extremely important. I think there are other positive benefits to complaining. Socially, humans bond over crap experiences, too.

No Complaining : I can be the biggest baby in life. Especially when I'm sick. But now I realize where that "complaint feeling" comes from......insecurity. Been listening to binerural beets/ subliminals to stop complaining. I also write down in a little black notebook I entilted " The postive aspects of things" and I would write in there as ex, I had water and I can actually put lemon in it. Hell, I actually can drink water ! I heard a child laughing. My husband touched my hand. Its the little things many of us take forgranted. And so no matter how dark life felt that day, I still write in that notebook only to realize I'm going to wake up in the morning g feeling free to exhale in peace.

Wonder if these guys are the real deal, or are they more or less just pushing a glorified alpha persona around? Honestly, my gut says they're the real deal, even if they are slightly naive, they're 10x more of men than I am. I just been seeing a lot of Jocko Willink motivation vids pop up in my feed, and I'm kinda liking it, really. This guy is telling me everything I'm needing to hear, at one of the most pivot-able times of my life. However, I needed this a long time ago, but i'm finally finding 3rd gear like... Even at my 34 yrs of age, i'm actually filling in some of this void with over due discipline and courage. Still nothing compared to the level these guys are obviously on, but even if i can't join mma or play in the nfl, I can be someone that isn't bogging down in the mud and beat leg day with the heel of my feet. At least that's my plan.

Jocko you if you love ice water should get the 64 oz hydro flask, with the fliptop lid and the jug lug carry pouch, it doesn't get any better than that.

In fear of my landlord raising the rent I don’t complain the faucet is leaking, there’s no furnace filter, and the dryers broken.

In 2017, if engaged in uphill battle. Does one sit in the bed of a truck, driving up the hill in reverse, for the grit earned, does one take advantage of modern technology I.e, landing a drone on top for a mission complete...or does one settle in the gray area inbetween getting grit in their eye with missions of moderate difficulty, while using the tools and technology to make the mission complete an easy success?

The ones who give these videos thumbs down are the same people who are against people having the right to open carry for protection. Ive never even had a thought to own a gun nor do i like them personally but ive never been in a sitiation where i needed one to see tomo. To me the guys who feel they cant knuckle up and man up and feel tough for brandishing a firearm were always the weakest but diff places call for diff means to survive so i have learned not to always be so quick to judge. But shame on you for disliking any motivational video from Jocko!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy is amazing everything he talking about is true. America is in a rough position because many of the younger generations are used to certain things and treat them as entitlements. We are so fortunate in this time.

Glad that I have the privilege to be able to listen to the Jocko Podcast! Outstanding in every aspect. Inspiring and real tools that work 100%. Keep it up, chee-boh-hah! :) Good evening, troopers!

complaining about stuff happening in life is the basis of my friendships lol. If my closest friends and I didn't talk about problems with work, relationships etc we wouldn't talk much at all.

Blaming and Complaining are both entirely useless. Just Identify the problem, create a solution and execute. Stay grateful.
