    Don't be quick to discard people just for a lack of perceived effort. There is nothing out there. Stoicism starts to sound like religion when it talks about magically stumbling onto people. Our culture determines who is out there, and western culture sucks. There are no magical men or women who will fall from the sky. So we will need to craft for ourselves the relationships we want by articulating clear visions. Most people do not have clear visions, just random things they demand from others. Make sure you've actually either articulated a vision (if you're the man) or fully elucidated his vision (if you're the woman) before you just leave

    you are screwed my guy. I was in this situation but she dumped me. long story short, you can give and give but the other person seems like they are not interested is because they are not interested. my advice is to detached your feelings because it seems like you are forcing to try to make the relationship work and it is not working. It will be hard but the pain will be less when your person is finished with the relationship. I wish i can take your pain because i know how you feel but i think each of us has to experience this to understand ourselves. my advice; DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT FALL MADLY IN LOVE AGAIN AND GIVE YOUR HEART WITHOUT KNOWING IF THE OTHER PERSON REALLY IS WILLING TO STAY. YOU RISK FALLING FOR THE SAME LESSON I HAD TO LEARN OVER AND OVER.YOU KEEP TRYING TO MAKE THEM HAPPY SO THEY WILL NOT ABANDONED YOU BUT IN THE END, THEY LEAVE. GOOD LUCK AND STAY STRONG. maybe she and I were not compatible but dam i loved that girl. I hope that you find your happiness out there Danielle.@@musikeradaw

    I was just dumped by the girl ive loved for 3 1/2 years, and who's hand I'd started saving to put a ring on. First real heartbreak of my life. I was dumped in the typical modern fashion, with little reasoning or insight into what happened or what i might have done as a catalyst to this. It feels like a deep well, but im trying to let it be a moment of reflection and transformation for me. I'm trying to keep my head up, and these words really helpled.

    I learnt that love can be painful if you want to give someone love and that person isn't ready to receive or rejects your love. Remembering that moment where you believed that it will lead to something more only to then come back to reality and see all the signs of the end coming soon. It all starts with your values and their values. Of course, we want to find someone who wants us and we want to be needed. However, we must keep our eyes open to what's infront of us and not what's in our minds eyes. 💯

    This helped me so much. Simple words to get me through. My father died, I broke up with my boyfriend, I was in the middle of moving all at once. I expected the boyfriend to be there during my time. To help move, to support me through my grief of losing my father. He wasn’t. I felt so alone and kind of chased him hoping he would reciprocate as I would if he was going through what I was going through. He didn’t. Even trying to remain a friend, I allowed him to drain me with what he needed help with in his life. It was pathetic, I was pathetic. I’m still working on the grief of it all. It hurt so bad that when I wasn’t there for me. We broke up the day my father died. Leading up to my father’s death I realized he wasn’t there for me. I spoke to him about it and instead of trying to do better he decided to use that moment to escape. Good for him I guess. Good for me I guess too. There has to be a beautiful thing in one door closing for another to open. Another door hasn’t open yet but I’m sure it will. Take care everyone. I hope we all find the person who is on our vibration and reciprocates your feelings and emotions.

    I feel i may be going through the same with my current partner. We've got roughly 8.5 years in it. And I've lost both my grandparents during it. She was kinda there. But also not. And certain decisions and actions showed she did not, and probably does not care. He lately I've been feeling like she does NOT want, or love me anymore. I tried brining it up, it made no difference. If anything it probably made it worse. But I'm sorry you had to go through all that. We all deserve to be truly loved. It's hard for me cause my son. I want him in my life regardless. But I can't bring myself to making it just Saturdays amd Sundays. (As I work far from home. So during the week I wouldn't be able to see him) as of now. We are still living together. But tbh she feels more like a roommate now, more then ever. I hope your story gets better sweetie. And if you could, please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as well. Sending light and love to all. And may your father RIP!

I can only suggest you fall into yourself. You have to set boundaries to not exhaust yourself. I refuse to be drained and if love isn’t reciprocated I have to make the hard decision and walk away. It hurt more to stay. Also, I wholeheartedly understand bringing it up seems to make it worse. Hey, if they don’t want to talk then so be it. We can’t force people to be or treat us how we want. Definitely can’t force them to love us. We can only control us, hell sometimes we fall short doing that. As for your child, definitely work on figuring that out. Our Time with them is important for them. Figure out a good balance of you can. ❤️‍🩹💕

    "Settle on the type of person you want to be, and stick to it." Who we are is a choice that we make through what we do. We both have good and bad within us. Which one grows in our hearts are what we choose to feed our minds with, as thoughts lead to feelings and in turn give birth to action, and that's why it's so crucial we guard our minds from feeding on the wrong things, because if we don't, then that's the person we are liable to become. As an old Proverb says: "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he."

  • @thecowboy9698

    @thecowboy9698

    6 ай бұрын

    @@TheBestOfLisaRenee - I have a feeling that many of the ancient Stoics studied in the Hebrew scriptures, gleaned many of the principles that are found in like the Proverbs, for example, and then either incorporated them into their teachings, or put their own spin on what they read, and presented it as their own. As to the type of person we are, well at the end of the day talk is cheap, unless it's followed up by corresponding action. Words are just that, words, unless our actions are in harmony with them, and it's our actions that reveal both our true character, as well as our intentions. "Even children show what they are by what they do; you can tell if they are honest and good." - Proverbs 20:11. And no doubt the disciple James had that Proverb in mind, when he wrote the following: "What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”-but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”.... So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone." James 2:14-18,24.

    Gaining inner wisdom from experience, is to utilise discernment to embody it. I've always lived by my intuition as my inner compass. And it has provided me what has brought me what is in my essence. Although in this complexities society's adages, one is compelled to apply Stoism principles. It is a tenet or tool that can enable objectivism towards humanity's survival. Thank you for this overview. ✨️

    Truth is : never beg for love. The other person never appreciates much your love, regardless how much you give. Somehow people always believe they have to sacrifice a lot for the worthwhile things.

    Be aware that one major variable can change some of these pricipals. Or rather, the approach to them. If someone is emotionally unavailable due to a recent pain, it isn't you they're rejecting. You can choose to be patient and endure if they've given you true confirmation that they have sincere attraction to you, but it is a very fine line you'd be walking on because you simply do not know what may make them withdraw at any moment.

And will the person I want to be in a relationship is she respect me? And whether she will stand by me in my time of trouble.

    Believe me I understand. It's painful, but the only control you have is over yourself. Demand clarity and honesty from them, and if they truly cannot feel the same way you must make peace with this and move on. One will find you deserving, it will come, do not let those who reject you determine your worth.
