Need to Know Basics About Medical Physiology | Nnenna Eronini

Nnenna Eronini, a Medical Physiology student in London, talks about her passion in the discipline, tips to get enrolled in the programme and all you need to know about Medical Physiology.
The House of Medics is a group of professionals who either work in the healthcare industry or are passionate about healthcare.
Our members are doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, radiographers, paramedics, mental health professionals, researchers, students… the list goes on!
The House of Medics was founded because we realised that most of us were not passionate about traditional professional bodies anymore, and we found that when we discussed with our colleagues, many felt the same way.
Professional bodies and societies were originally social constructs that acted as support systems for their members, and provided a sense of belonging. We want to bring that back to medicine.
We also noticed a lack of opportunity for young people of different specialties and disciplines to genuinely interact. Each Royal College seems to cater to a small group of people - which of course has its advantages - but since we all work together and often have the same struggles, we believe the House of Medics must be multi-disciplinary.
We are creating the medical society of the future - one where people can have real conversations and make meaningful connections, whilst learning and improving themselves through CPD and other opportunities.
Our mentorship programme pairs aspiring students with those who have already experienced success in their chosen field. Our students are eternally grateful for what they learn, but also our mentors love the opportunity to educate and inspire. We’re passionate about creating more healthcare leaders in the future, and we provide leadership training to all our members also.

Is it possible for a clinical physiologist to be specialised in two fields of physiology such as cardiovascular physiology, and renal physiology?

I'm nearly 26 and from Rotherham, S. Yorks. London is very far away from here. I am sure you are very nice, but you are also someone from the Internet, I hope you understand me.

In Roman times, York (Eboracum) was known as "Britannia Inferior" and London (Londinum) was known as "Britannia Superior". Now, last week, a 14 year old boy in East London was killed by a man with a sword! However, on the same day, there was a report about a School in Sheffield in South Yorkshire that a pupil had held up a school with a knife. However, no one was injured - nothing happened, it shouldn't have been on national TV. Meanwhile, the soap Eastenders seems to display normal family life in London, whereas Emmerdale and Coronation Street from ITV have all these fantastical storylines that simply do not occur in our region of the UK. I will not say anything else.

After completing your bachelor's programme, you can easily apply to study Physician Associate (/Assistant) course in any medical university as a post-grad.

My favourite photo of you is where you are leaning on a postbox. I am 24, but all of the modelling photographs don't look as good as that one, and maybe they don't even have the intended impact.

Do others in London have your accent? I think it's like Standard English, so it would be Standard Multicultural English. One umbrella term doesn't represent everyone, or sometimes anyone. In South Yorkshire, the Pakistanis don't sound like me, and the "Black British" here sound like neither of us. And then there are Eastern Europeans, who often might not even use English all of the time. The Chinese can only be found in Sheffield, but that is a City, of course.

Hi Gabby, I hope this video did throw some light on who a medical physiologist is. A physiotherapist, on the other hand, is someone who help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. Watch this video of a physiotherapist we had on our channel talk more about what they do kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaZ3tZKgo9Cpj9I.html

I'm sorry for what I said to anyone who read it, it was irrational and ignorant. Serious crimes may happen more often in London, but the truth is that they can happen anywhere. I guess some Soap Operas are also trying to attract more viewers with even more 'radical' storylines. Eastenders is Eastenders, but I think that The Bill was probably more realistic about London, not all of the time, but still.
