I love the voices that you make. It's comedic and keeps the listeners attention. It's hard to listen to and like youtubers that are too serious and do not show personality. I just discovered your channel and subscribed. Thank you for making good content and contributing positively to people's lives!❤

You make an excellent point I try to always remind others about; the brief summary books like the BRS physiology books won’t make sense unless you already understand the material. Those skinny books are great for review, but not as your starting point. Thanks for what you do.

I think a good study tip other than "JUST STUDYING" would be to do practice questions. Do every practice question your lecturer may post. If they don't have any, Guyton has great practice questions as does BRS. It's hard to fit them in, when you hardly have time to study, but doing questions is a form of studying when you learn why you got the answer wrong and what you need to focus more in. Thanks for the great video though! :)

"What are you doing Guyton?" That was classic! And lightning didn't strike you after saying that! Nor me for laughing. Hall actually did an interview where he said how Guyton made him cut his verbiage by half for his 9th edition additions. It's Guytons shoulders we're standing on... Dude, thanks for these videos. This is the first I've seen, and I'll be checking out the others, and passing them on to fellow students. On the subject of videos, do you have a recommendation on a video series for Physio? And PathoPhysio? Please say you do. Thanks again, doc!

I have to disagree with this author too. Guyton is a great book and the minutiae does matter. If there is one class you are going to be thorough with in med school, it should be physiology.

  • @ZeePark21

Exactly! I personally love to read Guyton because it has by far the best explanations that I think we need to understand compared to Berne&Levy or Ganong's which I also both used. Our consultant always told us that Physiology is the hypothalamus of medicine so we need to invest our time on it rather than just memorize the whole thing.

I start phase 1 of mbbs soon. I know in America it is called M.D but for phase 1 mbbs (based on the medical council of india curriculum) we study anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, IT and community medicine. Guyton is recommended by the medical school but there's no mention of constanzo. DocOssareh, do you think the physiology from M.D and that of mbbs is similar? I really rate your comments but I would like to choose the best route for studying.

Boron confuses me a little bit with formulas 😭😭😭 maybe it's because I'm the type of person who likes to know where does that number on the formula comes from or where the formula comes from so I got distracted a lot by that and end up losing time trying to understand the formula as if I was mathematician instead of just taking it as it is and not asking :(

So you basically don't read Guyton that much? I don't know about you, but my Physiology course is strictly based on Guyton. And yes I have to pretty much learn the entire book, the more the better cuz our exams are brutal. And what I hate about it is that exam is pretty much based on questions that trigger one sentence in each chapter that if you didn't memorise well, it will most likely cost you passing the exam. Also, I thought you were gonna give some advice on learning the subject not just showing books you learned from :P

the prob is that our education lacks basis and coordination...for example in physiology they teach us the effect of every center in the Motor areas in the brain on stretch reflex without explaining what's stretch reflex and many many other things like that... am gonna be honest with u, am in 2nd year now and i got A+ the first year and all i still remember right now and understand doesn't proceed more than 10% from total......that's rly disappointing! that's why i want to do things right i want to understand every single word in the textbook not to memorize it without understanding... did u figure something out that could help u be better or help u understand more?

I will go with guyton and hall. People in India say it is very informative and easy to understand. We can build really nice concepts from it and later go for ganong or costanzo for PG preparation.

Hello! I am an undergrad and I was wondering if it would alright if I took physiology before I take anatomy. I have a basic knowledge of anatomy from my EMT-B training.
