"Problems are not there to test, the problems are there for you to test & to learn from!" i'm definitely hanging this quote on my desk! Thank you soooo much!
I used this strategy for my math 101 course. Divide and conquer. I ended up making a 100 on the final and a 97 in the class. There is no hiding from problem solving. No grey area. You know it or you do not. That is why I love science and math.

Teach me your ways.
for college, I suggest studying an upcoming course through the summer on your own. For instance if you have chemistry 1 next semester, focus a month in summer on learning the material. When you are in the actual class you will have a general understanding of each topic, and all you will have to do is iron out the details.

Ariel Cruz I always plan on doing that..and well it doesnt happen. I just need to stop being lazy. Your suggestion is great tho.

rafael soria Haha at least in the summer you can learn without being under much pressure. You will be able to learn whenever your'e in the mood. Just drink a cup a coffee put on instrumentals and you're good to go.. Good luck!

Ariel Cruz i know. I have physiology and didn't study as well. So I am nervous now. But I will keep fighting
I believe that one self-defeating thought is that some person in class is taking significantly less time to get through the material and still ace the test, but a counter argument I use for that is "Well, if that so-and-so was really that smart, they wouldn't be in the same room as I am, they should already be doing something more worthwhile if they are really of that caliber", btw, great video, cold hard truth!!
Saving this video bc I've never been so motivated to study!
Dude, would you consider taking a job as my shoulder-angel? Or my Navi? Or my roommate? I now you're a doctor but I mean... I can pay you in friendship and appreciation.

This video changed my frickin life. True Story.
You get me pumped to study! Thanks again for such great tips all the while being really funny, engaging and entertaining!
The video may be long, and yea, I've heard this all before, but to hear it from someone in the same situation, that has succeeded, and has the same path as myself, makes this video extremely useful. Thanks for making it!
Wow thank you man! You made me feel normal. Sometimes I did problems 3 times to get A's on the exams. I thought I was just stupid or something.
My god I have been subscribed for years but never watched all these study vids.. absolute GOLD!!!!! I watch a lot of study KZreadrs but they just do not resonate with me. I appreciate your comprehensiveness and emphasis on mastery over subjects!!! Thank you Doc!!!!!
Hey! Thank you for all these great advice! I found your video a bit late since I am in my last year of college. I also had to learn the hard way since high school and college was so different. If there is one advice that outshines the other would be the "no time limit to understand a chapter". Anyways, can't wait to share this with friends and also see more of your other videos.
Very important vid , I wish my academic counselor woulda shared this knowledge. Your a life saver. Bio classes are so tough and I had to learn the hard way too n have burnt out over it. I am pushing through and trying to stay strong , advice like yours saves years of withdrawals
This video is truly amazing ^_^ I'm currently in my last semester of high school and I think this meathod would be prefect for when I start college.
I love your videos - don't really have much else to say but that, but they're always helpful and gets straight to the point, which is really nice.
Since I found your videos, I've been watching one or two everyday. I'm going to start pharmacy school this coming Fall. Looks like I'm gonna be stuck watching your videos the next four years! You are very encouraging. And funny ;)
Thanks Doc. As a premed student this is extremely helpful. Time flies through your videos. You keep me interested.
I like how encouraging this video is!! Thank you for the tips!!
im a sophomore nursing major and this is my summer. thank god your video pepped talk me slowly to begin classes. I worship u
Doctor, you're the best ! You literally covered everything in few minutes. You just gained a new subscriber. Peace
"40 questions. Easy." My trig teacher just lectured us on not complaining on the 18 problems he assigned us over the weekend. :p
I love the money analogies that went with the explanations. Good video either way, thank you. It convinced me to check other of your videos. Let's see how it goes.
This is why I love KZread. Thank you for these priceless videos!
This video was super reassuring and very well explained! Love this guy! Keep up the good work
Hahaha...I was on the fence about buying the solutions manual for my g-Chem class but you've just totally convinced me to just get it! Also, I love your energy...so motivating! I am also usually one of the last few students left during an exam, barely finishing on time & it always bothers me when other students finish before me. It makes me question my abilities but I know this is not the way to think about it. Thanks for your tips, very helpful.
Thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed to hear!
@DocOssareh: Thanks for the video! Science and Math are my forte and these tips are awesome. I especially need to try to timer advice because I tend to take my time on tests and check my answers at least twice on exams. Will be coming back for more videos and best of luck in Medical School!
Thanks for this video! I needed some motivation to jump back on the study wagon because I have been feeling burnt out lately.
Oh my gosh, thank you so much. You've saved my life. I can't even express my appreciation to the extent that I want to. Thank you!!
Best advice I have ever heard in college. Thanks!
Absolutely love the way you inspire :) Keep it up.
You’re awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Great advice I wish I could have saw your channels last year when I was struggling in a&p #1 I would read the chapters over and over again I should have did the quiz questions in the back of the chapter thank you so much for sharing! :-)
That video was badass. Never heard those tricks. They will surely give me some edge. I am glad you are my kind. Thanks for the video
thank you for taking the time to help us with our studying struggles. I am following the advise and adopting this study method, it does make sense.

Thanks for the advice. Im 25 and just now switching to a biology major from a major in spanish education (I know...my family/everyone thinks Im crazy too) So Im literally starting over in school and havent taken a science class since high school. This makes me feel a little more at ease about the many years to come.
I loved this video. I never thought of it this way and this really helped me a lot.
thank you so much for this video. keep it up!
Lots of helpful advice here. Thank you very much!
As a freshman in college Bro this video was really helpful and informative not to mention bluntly real. I'm watching this while reading my A&P book for an exam that's in 20 days.
Classes start for me tomorrow. I am defiantly going to give this a try. Great advice!
Your videos are great, really good advice and easy to wach. Thank you for keeping them up! :)
I'm in high school, but i think this will really help me for my math and science tests. :)
THANK YOU this is a good reminder to do questions
Fantastic video. Thanks man!
Thank you for your advice. I am a freshman in college and for my first semester I pretty did well. I will continue using the tips that I have learned from you because I will take many science classes. Thank you again.
Yay. Am really glad you made this video. Keep the good work. I dont know why but am proud of you.;-)
Thank you so much! Your videos are so helpful and funny!
oh thank you for being so straight forward. My coaches are either flirting with the point but end the session before they tell me. This is just great advice and information.
Thank you for the tips ! It is really useful and help me open my eyes !
I'm a senior in high school looking ahead to college and really appreciate this video man. I got a 5 in bio but a 4 in Chem and think I could've done better if I applied these study strategies I half assed my homework every night lmao. In college I probably won't do EVERY problem as many of them are redundant (especially in a calculus class) but I'll do one of each type. I assume you don't mean every problem literally cause ain't nobody got time for that

Thank you very much! These are truly excellent tips

Dude, your freaking hilarious. But , no, seriously good stuff, I'll try to apply what I've learned from you!
Your videos are very helpful! I am going into pharmacy and a ton of the pre reqs are the same as the ones for med school so your tips definitely help. Thanks!!!!
Thank you for the advice, I found it very helpful and doable.

This is sooo helpful!! Thankyou so much!
awesome advice, you're a great motivator.
This is a really helpful video, thank you!
I love it! Thanks!
I applied these techniques for my Orgo classes and did very well. Like Dr. Oss said, a key component is becoming comfortable with learning from the questions you answered wrong. Put in some effort and orgo will be fun and rewarding. It was my favorite class in undergrad.
Thanks for the tips bro!
Love the fact you are real and not B.S. Thank you! Wish you all the best for future.
Genius absolute genius! Using this method when I go to med school!!
You are awesome! As always :)
I just love you maaaaan , thankssssss a lot ♥️ You are one of the reasons why medicine is fascinating
I literally love you . THANK YOU SO MUCH :D
Thank you for this, it really helped.
Great tips. I will incorporate your tips in your study plan.
Thanks for the great video.
great tips by the way!
I love you!!! You are amazing!
This may seem obvious to some, as you explain in the video yourself, but was an eye opener for me. Thank you for posting the video :) -From a grateful first semester Marine Engineering student
your videos mean a lot to me!
Good advice man!
Ok you're awesome for this!
Wow thank you so much!
Thanks for this :) I'm starting a biology degree in a few weeks and I'm nervous as all hell. This really helps. :D

Hi Mr Mustaine, Just wondering if u did infact complete ur bio degree? If so, did u find these methods helpful? What happened to megadeath?
Very explanatory. In my high school science classes when it came to the problems, that's all the teachers talked about and discussed in class. But, they also stressed the importance on keywords throughout the textbook. *
I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FOR THIS
He gives more personal stories that have been proven to be effective for him. And teachers never emphasize as much about the questions in the back of the book and checking them all at the library or with the professor. It is great advice.
You're great. :) Thank you!
