lucia nguyen break them down by classes/group, study the common effects first, then differences, add more details as you progress. For example, adverse effects are the opposite of effects, no need for details. In other words, anti hypertensive drugs would give you hypertension; anti arrhythmic drugs give you bradycardia, etc...

I think the main problem people have when trying to get into medical school is the exams - if someone can find a very great mentor like a perfect person which he or she will understand then that is BINGO! I remember I used to suffer from mathematics a lot but one day such a fantastic tutor I found and I aced my entrance exams for math then I needed more help from her but unfortunately she had to move out of State and my luck turned against me

You have to be dedicated and a bit of a workaholic to survive. Taking notes as fast as you can for about 6 hours a day, then going to the hospital to see your patients and read their charts, then going to the library to study their diagnosis, treatments, and medications, then writing lengthy care plans, then go to your dorm room and review everything til bedtime so when your nursing instructor "interrogates" you the next day you can reply, and (with some) you better know all the side effects of all the drugs. P.S. ~Half of the freshman class graduated.

I studied at 1:00 a.m. in my bedroom especially on exam days. It was the only time that was without distraction. It was SO difficult but worth it. My little cousin went to medical school at Yale & Harvard. He is now working in Boston as a pediatric oncologist. I am super proud of him. I cannot even imagine having accomplished so much already in his life. This world is a better place because of people like him & like you & like all doctors and nurses that take such great care of people everyday. The most important thing that you should remember, IMO, is that every patient that you take care of means the world to someone else. 💕 Take care! 🙏👍✌💪😷

Current DNP student here and it’s like you are telling my story when I was in undergrad nursing school. Like we are literally the same person. He is not fibbing people. Every single thing he stated, down to every little detail are practices I developed in nursing school. I studied in the exact same cubby in the library every single day. During the last couple days leading up to exams, I made care maps with all the info condensed on one page using different colors and would literally visualized them during exams. A routine is detrimental to your success in medical field studies. I did the same thing every single day and would only study at my apartment sometimes the last couple of days before exams just reviewing my notes. My group and I split up the readings, typed up notes and combined them before class, we would then record and take notes during class, we studies directly after class on campus, I went home and slept for work. Worked over night where I would study, and then go directly to class after work and repeat my day. The days I didn’t have classes I still went directly to the library after work to study. The formula works.

For me medical school began when I started with the pre requisites of Chemistry, physics, biology and math. I went into Paramedic school after completing emt, cardiology, pharmacology and iv therapy. It made it easy to form a base of learning. The hardest part was the first emt course. When I only scored a 76 and did not read the chapters only skimmed through, I realized that every paragraph in the book had a question on the test. My job was NOT to read through a paragraph and go onto the next until I knew exactly what was important enough to be that question. That it. Spend every moment you can absorbing the information.

After taking a public speaking class i found that i remembered a lot about a topic when i would prepare speeches for the course. I am self studying for IT certifications. I read a chapter, afterwards i write an outline on the chapter (or create a mind map) as the guide for my "speech". I then walk around the house practicing the speech, speaking out loud and following the outline just like i would when giving the speech in class. I try to give a speech on the chapter topic. I find myself practicing the speech in bits and pieces in my head throughout the day.

I feel yeah on just getting out of the house to study. Growing up with parents being doctors helped me in the health industry because I am always around it so it was normalized for the most part.

2:48 "...find yourself a study partner..." very easy when you have absolutely no friends and are locked in isolation because of a global pandemic, but yeah maybe I could find one "...preferably smart..." that's even harder, but ok "...and preferably motivated..." *trying to think of **_a single_** motivated person in my school who actually wants to study - can't think of anyone* (I am a high school student if you are curious) "...and stick with him..." *trying to imagine myself **_actually_** being connected or attached to anyone and not leaving him - simply impossible* This sentence you said is perhaps the most impossible sentence I've ever heard in my life.

It's called the internet. It seems you have access to it. If for some reason you absolutely must have a physical study partner then get one. It sounds like you're not a person that's easy to get along with if you have absolutely no friends or even acquaintances willing to work with you. Work on charisma instead first. Working with others is a very basic and necessary skill. Very much a you problem that should be fixed.

If you are doing well studying alone then it's ok no need to think too much about it but it can be great help if you have someone to ask for still all that matters is what can be effective for you to reach your goals it all depends on your priorities

Self decipline is the most important part of studying. I agree with getting a study partner but make sure they are positive, motivated, and are just as self decipline as you are. Thank you for the great tips. Good luck!
