Natural Treatments For Psoriasis | Dr. Josh Axe

Diet, Essential Oils, & Supplements for Natural Treatments of psoriasis: bit.ly/2HUdb4Q
You can see improvements in 24 hours if you follow these tips. I have done this with patients and my own father-in-law and have seen a 98% improvement in just 30 days.
Natural Remedies & Dietary Changes:
1) Change your diet by adding in these healing foods:
- Add in probiotics to heal your gut such as goat's milk yogurt, kefir, fermented vegetables.
- Add soluble fiber to increase good bacteria such as blueberries, cauliflower, spinach, flax seeds and chia seeds.
- Add in foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids such as wild-caught fish or grass-fed beef
- Add in fruits and vegetables
- Add in herbs such as turmeric or dandelion
- Add in bone broth which is high in collagen to help heal the gut
2) Get rid of foods causing inflammation such as processed meats, hydrogenated oils, sugar and whole grains such as wheat and flour products.
3) Take supplements:
- HCL with pepsin to break down proteins (start with one capsule taken with protein)
- Fish Oil - 1,000 mg/day
- Milk Thistle helps to detox the liver
- High quality Vitamin D3 (take up to 5,000 mg/day)
- Digestive enzymes
4) For a topical solution, you can make your own DIY skin cream:
- Combine shea butter with essential oils such as geranium oil and rub onto your skin.
Tea tree oil, chamomile and lavender oil are also effective to treat skin conditions.

    🙂 Some excellent advice here. I cleared 40 years worth of psoriasis in around 8 months. That was 10 years ago. Hardly had a flare up since. I cleared it with an anti-inflammatory diet, daily carrot juice, and supplements (Fish Oil, Vitamin D3, Zinc). EDIT : March 2022: Actually took 9 months and that was nearly 15 years ago....got to love the menopause brain !!!

    How many medical doctors completely ignore diet and lifestyle choices and go straight to the pharmaceuticals? Based on my own anecdotal evidence, medical doctors don't even ask their patients how much water they're drinking each day before prescribing them pills for constipation! Regardless of whether that's what patients these days actually prefer, there's a huge field out there between doing nothing and drugging our problems away, and that's what makes folks like Dr. Axe so important.

    I have been following this diet advice for 4 days now. My psoriasis is shrinking rapidly and virtually all joint pain has disappeared. I feel incredible and can't wait to see how I feel by the end of the month. I don't eat read meat but have replaced with salmon and other fish (4 oz per serving), have been eliminating all the suggested foods and focusing on lots of dark leafy greens and the other veggies suggested. I've also added kefir, a good probiotic, hcl, salmon oil and vitamin d supplements and sip milk thistle tea throughout the day. I've been checking my PH levels periodically out of curiosity and they have leveled out to 7.4 since beginning the dietary changes. The results have been nothing short of mind blowing. This has been an amazing experience for me....THANK YOU!

  • @sksbc3895

    @sksbc3895

    8 жыл бұрын

    There was a very visible difference within days. The affected area became less inflamed and itchy. As of today, all that's left of my psoriasis is a slight redness but even that is shrinking now. I have literally tried every ointment under the sun (natural and not) since I was 15 yrs old and this change in diet is the only thing that has made any difference. Not only has my skin almost completely healed but I had been experiencing digestive problems with acid reflux etc in the past two years and that is now completely gone as well. I recommend at least trying this to anyone. ....or you can continue to rub steroid creams all over your skin which cost a fortune and ruin your skin? I think I'll stick to this thanks! Oh, and for the record... I don't know Dr. Axe and no, I'm not being paid to endorse him,... I'm just someone who is fed up with putting a 'band aid' on my psoriasis. I'd much rather have it gone for good. I've always believed that our bodies have the ability to heal themselves with proper diet, but why someone like me who ate so well had psoriasis had me stumped. Now I know the reason, it started with me having an unhealthy gut. If you open your mind a little, you'll feel better too. Good luck.

  • @sksbc3895

    @sksbc3895

    8 жыл бұрын

    Also, I just noticed you're using British slang (PSML) so clearly you're writing from the UK... the world capital of greasy, unhealthy food. I bet that your gut is unhealthy as it gets and if it isn't psoriasis that is your problem, there are plenty of others. I realize old habits, especially when it comes to eating, are hard to change...your brain will feed you all kinds of denial.... but why don't you try to prove me wrong by giving it a try? I find that even sipping the chicken bone broth while staying away from processed foods/white flour and sugar, makes an enormous difference. Rather than poke fun at what is working for someone else, go ahead, prove this 'charlatan' wrong....

  • @sksbc3895

    @sksbc3895

    So far so good. I've been staying away from all white foods but I think I'll try introducing grains a little at a time to see if there is a reaction. I broke down under social circumstances and had a couple cups of coffee the other day and not only did my skin break out a little bit but I had a severe acid reflux like reaction... so won't be doing that again! I'm finding the leafy greens, wild salmon and bone broth along with a great probiotic and digestive enzymes to be the fastest way to get back on track. Once clear again, I'll keep testing one food at a time to watch for reactions. Removing nightshade veggies and tomatoes/citrus has virtually removed all joint inflammation as well. My joints feel 'oiled' with this diet change. Coffee has turned out to be an absolute no no for me so I'll be leaving that behind from now on.

  • @sksbc3895

    @sksbc3895

    8 жыл бұрын

    Once my gut was starting to heal up with the diet Dr Axe suggests, I occasionally started eating grains and chicken without any trouble. It's still early in the game for me so I'll keep going with the wild caught salmon, greens and bone broth until I'm sure it's healed, then like I said earlier, I'll start introducing foods that seem to be psoriasis friendly until I find something that works. One thing I did find that really helps with psoriasis itchiness is Sea Buckthorn oil but you have to be careful as some of it turns your skin orange. A good colourless brand I found on Amazon is "Sibu" sea buckthorn seed oil. It keeps me from scratching the(psoriasis) affected areas in my sleep completely.I'll have to check out black seed oil too... although I hope I don't get acid reflux again! When my gut is in good shape I don't seem to get it at all.... One thing I recommend fully is bone broth... WOW... the changes are quick once you start drinking that.

    That slip probably coincided with the winter months. and yes, it tends to come back with revenge. It's as if your body does not like it when you make it go away so the more you adjust to a better diet, the longer and more firmly you have to stick to it. Had UVB treatment done together with perfect, healthy diet and lots of outdoor activities/exercise and severely widespread psoriasis almost entirely gone in 3 months. Back to terrible food, stress, little exercise and no vitamin d, and psoriasis back worse than ever in a matter of weeks. There is clearly a link between the disease and these factors. Anecdotal evidence is not scientific evidence but when there is a plenty of it out there, you can be sure that's the way to go

    @@user-vl1dm7le6l hi, sorry for the late reply. My psoriasis remains very occasional and only as a small spot in response to periods of stress. I still take 1000mg cod liver oil daily, hot/cold showers every day also help a lot. Generally moderate alcohol and caffeine as these help keep any gut inflammation down, green tea seems fine for me. Regular yoghurt and kefir. I have regular turmeric as part of a smoothie after workouts, all focused on reducing inflammation long term. No other supplements, still living virtually psoriasis free. Hope that helps 🙂

    Great video and all points mentioned are correct. In addition he forgot to mention to avoid nightshade family vegetables which are tomato, white potato (sweet is ok), chilli, eggplant and pepper. These should not be consumed as they have toxic effect on psoriatic people. Other supplements he forgot to mention in his video are: slippery elm bark, saffron tea (American not Spanish!) and lecithin. All the above info I wrote are form ‘healing psoriasis. The natural alternative’ by Dr. O. Pagano. My psoriasis was mainly on my scalp and stomach. It has been a month now I am following Pagano’s diet and supplementation and I cannot believe the changes I see. I have been Struggling with psoriasis for 30 years.

    THEY DO SAY CLEANSINESS IS GODLINESS. DR. AXE YOU SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR THE CAUSE. THIS WAY IT CAN BE CURED AND THIS IS HOW DOCTORS WERE TRAINED MANY YEARS AGO UNTIL THESE CRIMINALS IN THE PHARMACUETICAL COMPANIES GAINED CONTROL OF THE MEDICAL SCHOOLS WHICH TODAY NEVER TEACH YOU TO FIND THE CURE ANYMORE. IF YOU CAME OUT OF OXFORD UNIVERSITY WITH A MEDICAL DEGREE AND ARE WRITING PRESCRIPTIONS FOR DIABETES, BLOOD PRESSURE, CHOLESTEROL,ETC YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT FROM THE DOCTOR EDUCATED IN A MEDICAL SCHOOL IN ARUBA.. IF YOU REMOVE THE CAUSE, YOU REMOVE THE PROBLEM. THE CAUSE OF PSORIASIS IS FROM DEAD CELLS THAT ACCUMILATE ON YOUR BED SHEETS AND PILLOWS AND YOUR CLOTHES. ALSO NOT CHANGING YOUR UNDER CLOTHES IS ALSO A CAUSE. DEAD CELLS BUILD UP AND BACTERIAS ALSO BUILD UP ON THE DEAD CELLS CAUSING THESE SKIN INFECTION LIKE PSORIASIS. LET'S ALSO ADDRESS ACNE. THE CAUSE OF ACNE IN TEENAGERS IS ALSO CAUSED BY DIRTY PILLOWS AND SHEETS. WHEN YOU HAVE ANY SKIN CONDITION LIKE PSORIASIS AND ACNE, ETC. KEEPING YOUR SHEETS, PILLOWS AND PILLOW CASES CLEAN IS A MUST. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND OREGANO OIL FOR TREATING PSORIASIS AND ACNE. IT WORKS WONDERS. IT IS OLD GREEK MEDICINE AND PROBABLY WHAT HIPPOCRATES USED TO CURE SKIN CONDITIONS. SADLY MOST DOCTORS INCLUDING YOURSELF DR. AXE, AND DON'T TAKE OFFENSE TO WHAT I JUST SAID, ALL VIOLATE THE HIPPOCRATIC OATH.

Prescription steroids caused leather skin, had to go to a UV tanning booth at derma twice a week to keep it from flaring up. It still flares up and can be so bad I can’t wear clothing and have to keep ice packs on to keep the hot spots numb from the intense itching. I also have psoriasis with arthritis, but don’t get it confused that one is gentler to some!
