I would say a flat coil, because of the technique. You are more so coiling the hair instead of actually twisting which requires two strands. I think that's why they called these "twisties" when I was coming up. Flat coils is the more technical term. Beautiful style even when I was in junior high and high school and even still today for those who have trouble flat twisting. Good job

Never thought about using a head tie yo hold down the back. Will use this method next time. I always have a hard time with keeping the part separated

This is what I was looking for! I used to twist my hair like this as a young girl & saw a style that I was inspired by w/ these twist but I everyone these days are doing 2 strand twist. It took me 10+ videos to find this! 😭

Also- My daughter has almost that exact hair type I think or similar and was wondering what do you use for shampoo and conditioner? I see you use Cantu leave - in which is also what I use. But how else do you keep your hair so moisturized? Her hair always seems so dry and tangled and I do it every morning before school so I don't know how it stays so tangled. Hope you don''t mind me asking. Thanks!

Kayla Sportsman I don't mind at all! I use Aussie moist Shampoo and conditioner. I use Jamaican black castor oil to seal in moisture

How long are you able to keep the flat twist in without the hairs unraveling? Also I have just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for sharing this technique.

It depends. If I have somewhere to go, then I keep them in for a couple of hours. But for the most part I keep them in overnight, and I've never dealt with unraveling.

I'll be taking it down tomorrow as it's very humid where I am & in triple digits so it's getting frizzy. I've been putting edge control which helps but I'll have to redo the style after washing it, etc. My husband loved it.
