Dank je wel, dat is ook heel goed zo! Als ik al het Nederlands kan verstaan, versta ik ook het Afrikaans. De Zuid-Afrikaners zijn in mijn ogen heel te bewonderen, in het rijkste land van Afrika ver van het oorspronkelijke vaderland van de voorouders te leven... I'm South African of Indian descent and this anthem was the one my parents grew up with. My mum grew up in Randfontein and mostly spoke Afrikaans and Gujurati in her household. You know just looking at the comments section really shows how much of a failure the ANC have become and they should be ashamed to make South Africans who are some of the most positive people in the world feel so disillusioned and that's sad. Thanks ANC for letting our communities rot

Thank you ANC for ruining the beautiful country South Africa used to be. Afrikaner politicians were "racist" but at least they were college educated and had a clear perspective how to run a country, which cannot be said about ANC country politicians

I miss the 1st World Country South Africa before 1994. Today we live in a criminal, corrupt, 3rd world fallen State! Facts! Facts dont care about feelings...its such a tragedy how the Blacks ruined this once beautiful, safe, clean country. Im a proud Afrikaner / South African. Honestly this South Africa was racist as hell but at least it did something. As a hispanic my self when we came to the United States, we just filled the streets with violence. We messed up Costa Mesa and LA. Cant forget about Dallas and Fort Worth Texas. Sometimes the worst things happen for the better.

the flag, and I suppose the anthem, is that of apartheid South Africa and therefore is no longer the anthem of today's South Africa and is illegal.

Ironically Die Stem was and is the anthem of modern South Africa as well. Was between 1994 and 1996 (alongside Nkosi Sikelel iAfrika) and is in the current anthem combined with Nkosi Sikelel iAfrika.

Was there a south Africa before the boers and the British came to the southern tip of Afric? Before land was made livable with dams and water pumps how much of the land could truly be utilised. Were the land that was sold to the Boers not legal agreement?
