I'm very familiar with Orania and the ideas they stand for can't be wrong and the rest of SA can learn from it. The municipality of my local town is collapsing and services are poor. Crime is high and people are unemployed. Orania has no crime and I mean no crime. You can leave cash on your porch and it will not be stolen. And it's all base on respect for each other as there is not even police in this town. I think there's much to learn at Orania.

You could've mentioned how Orania made an agreement with the Mnyameni community, to help them to also develop economically, socially and environmentally more self-reliant. These people were allowed to legally establish this town. Thank you, I did enjoy your presentation, and has joined Orania as a member about 2 years ago, to be kept informed of developments. This is an example of a resilient group of people, who took responsibility for building their own future for their own culture of people, and is currently a growing town. Afrikaaners have always been such devout Christians and it is a big part of why Orania is so successful and their kids have such good manners and habits. In our New South Africa we have done away with Apartheid but we have gone the other direction when it comes to social values, family values, modesty, honesty. Kids of all colors have no respect, shameful behavior in our schools is prevelant. Another example is, why does everything need to be open on a Sunday, for example supermarkets, stores etc. Government should close everything on a Sunday. Alcohol should be not sold on Sundays. Close all shebeens, taverns. Let Sunday be a family day. You need bread, rolls, milk etc go buy it on Saturday. Parents can get to spend the day with their children and loved ones, go to church, go visit extended families, bond with their kids instead of Slaving away 7 days a week. It all revolves around money today. Religion, compassion is dead in the New Free South Africa. The residents of Orania are not rich but their quality of life is probably a thousand times better.

It's not a whites only town. You should be Afrikaans speaking or fluent in Afrikaans and a Christian. The majority of Afrikaans speakers in South Africa are coloured(mixed race) people, they outnumber white Afrikaaners. A lot of coloureds are Muslim however and have a culture of their own. Anyone can apply to join the community but you must speak Afrikaans and abide by conservative Protestant Christian values.

To start off, im a cape coloured, what i can say about these white people to have started their own independence, is that i admire them instead of fighting and fighting year in and year out agaist their unjust past that their own colour has created and the way it seems is that its a clear fact that they have learned from that "apartheid" past and are willing to created a better future amongst themselves by starting from scratch and by the looks of it is doing a good job, so, imagine if our poor countryman who is black and in charge of the country now, just start getting the job done, rather then creating another "apartheid", by creating infrastructure,, healthcare, education and employment, instead of all this fighting year in year out bout skin colour, its been 27 years now,SA should have been top class by now already,our leaders is confusing the voters, no wonder we've got so many political parties, very confusing, all the best to the Oranje people and hope and pray to God that they will never repeat that ugly mistake called, apartheid. 🙏🏻

Colin, you are so focused on apartheid. Orania is not about apartheid, but about being Afrikaners who can live out their own true culture and speak their own language.

For all to learn from and flourish. Ingredients are as little as A STRONG WILL and a realisation that WE HAVE DONE IT BEFORE, WE CAN DO IT AGAIN. This is not at the cost of anyone. In fact read it, see it and learn!

its a long term experiment to be observed in decades to come. its a town structure on private land and has people of colour as well. less central government is needed in SA and more local power in many areas to curb corruption and dependence on the state for everything. SA is currently below its full potential due to a terrible incompetent and corrupt government. The Western Cape is pushing hard for independence as to not fall under the blanket one size fits all government system with unbalanced democracy connected to failed communist policies of old to insulate against bad governance. on average the economy of SA is being pissed away by corruption and stupidity of greedy politicians on all sides.

@@DD-gy5nk Reallocation of land has nothing to do with communism. It is a simple legalised thuggery. State has all means and legislation to pay off for the land and distribute among landless. And then? Give 5 years all that land will be thrashed turned into squatter camps. The question is not confiscation of land which our black people love to do but implementation of agricultural reforms. A very comprehensive plan from educating aspiring farmers to industrial agriculture, production of popular crops mechanization computer controlled farms, keeping previous owners of the land as share holder to utilize from their knowledge etc etc. This is a simple capitalist initiative with social bias to prevent violent upheavals. As for communism there is not a trace of it in SA. Communism starts with intelligentsia with talking heads. And cadres. SA seems to me is the last country on earth to fraternize with communism

Orania is a shining example of what can be done and achieved when people are prepared to work for themselves and don't expect handouts from a government that has basically not delivered on any promises since it came into power in 1994. Orania makes me proud to be a member of the White Tribe of Africa!

What is the difference between the Oranje Afrikaaner community and the Amish community in America ? Both are living according to their religious and cultural heritage. The only difference is that in South Africa everything a minority community does is viewed as racially motivated by the illiterate.Why is there no documentary on other ethnic/ tribal groups in South Africa where exactly the same is practiced.

The Amish don't have a brutal history of being racist or has the Amish created an aparthied system 🤔 that strangled black people.

I think we South Africans are afraid of another and are even more of afraid of acknowledging the past. South Africa has a history, at the core of that history was segregation and I think it’s unrealistic to not expect people of colour to not be worried about something like this. At the face of it, it reminds us of something that was a norm in the past. However I also acknowledge that the other side, the Afrikaner side also has their own fears and perhaps among them is the fear that they’ll lose their culture and since they are a minority that is a legitimate fear. It is important to note that just because SA became a democratic country it doesn’t necessarily mean that racist ideologies and racist people immediately disappeared these still exist but it is important to also understand that racism is not synonymous with whiteness. What bothers me about this though is that one of their reasons for living in this place is that they want to live in a crime free zone, and since the place is white only I can’t help but wonder if they somehow think that crime is synonymous with people of colour. At the end of the day what they are doing isn’t illegal and they are well within their rights to do as they please, we live in a free country but I just hope that they at least give their children an opportunity to experience other cultures and other groups of people because at some point they will step out into the “real world” and they need to be aware of other people.

Wish most of south African was like this town ....because really allot of people are sitting with out work in south afria ......its so sad 😢but true

it's not a whites only town, it's an Afrikaans town. There are coloured/black people there also. another thing, it's not a public town, it's a privately owned farm with town infrastructure. anyone is welcome as long as you respect the afrikaans culture.

He did mention that the town is privately owned. I doubt that there are any permanent black or coloured residents though. Can you provide evidence for that ?

@@wazybundas5567 its actaully our oranje blanje blou flag. With our 3 boer Republieke flags. So not really apartheid, apartheid woud be with the Brittanje flag. Im proud to be a boer. I dont care about racism. A while back I was because I was attacked at spar, I was told go back to europe. I now know that racism is evil. My priest taught me the right way. Yes let them be, our own people has given us RDP they are developing and growing as for us the minority we kill our own growth, development and ubuntu through corruption for as long as we have our democracy they have done well compare to the whole land.

I would like to say something!! I am an x oraniar I was kicked out of the town for maruana use! Nothing in orania is easy, I am a real hard worker also skilled, but when you live in rome then the problem with rome is that there are to much romans! Same there! Mabe it was faith for my fight is not with them nor agains them God put me on a nother path that is not so hard! Good luck to them!!

Unfortunately an unbiased video is spoiled by the poorest sub-titles I have ever seen.

Orania also works with black only communities in South Africa and they share ideas around self sustainability
