    First Story: I can COMPLETELY understand why the OP didn't give his kidney. You do realize that if it was the other way around and OP was dying of kidney failure, all his twin brother and parents would have done was laugh at his face and tell him it's what he gets for being a F-slur. Not a chance in hell his twin would have given him his kidney.

    The only thing the op did wrong was give up his name in his marriage instead of hyphenated it in half having both names. Other than that, if I was him I'd probably spit in his hospital pudding, close as he'd get to my kidney but that's it. What I love however is that the sister understands why the op left him to die, after all that strangers would understand but family would be emotional but she knew too and probably hated him.

    If the kidney failure was from his own behavior, it’s ridiculous to expect ANYONE to save him, let alone a twin who mistreated him for their entire lives. I had a friend who died from liver failure due to a Tylenol OD and she wasn’t allowed to be put on a donor list. Sebastian did that to himself and it’s absolutely disgusting that anyone would try to lay the blame on OP.

    Exactly! He did it to himself through HIS own actions. All OP ever wanted to do was have a loving twin brother, and have a family to fall back on (discluding the sister ofc) And it’s absolutely despicable that they think they’re entitled for OP to save him, after everything he’s done to screw over his entire life, getting him disowned for being bi. Or getting his girlfriend pregnant than abandoning HIS child forcing her to abort it or suffer. What happened to the evil twin was true karma. All his life he’s ruined OP’s life and made it a living hell, and having his narcissistic parents to favor him. All he’s ever done is destroy and ruin peoples lives. Now his life was on the line, and he expected the person he bullied the most and hated the most for no reason, and the person who he destroyed their life, and got him disowned by the indoor family (other than the sister). Only him was standing between evil twin and death. But now all those years of torment and narcissism is coming back to bite him in the ass and send him to hell.

    Also, the OP may need the kidney later in life. The other twin blew through his kidneys with drinking a lot early in life, but time may wear down OPs kidney quicker than other elder folk when he reaches those years. So, the OP should also be concerned with making sure he isnt in the same position of not having an extra kidney to spare later in life. In other words, genetic disposition of kidney stability should also be a factor.

Your kidney and blood could've saved someone. They needed it. As for your second part, donating a kidney would mean he would have to spend several hours on surgery and not to mention AFTER the surgery. And the leaves off his work days? He could've spent his time on people which is already not toxic. They have 7 years (excluding the time which his brother found out he has kidney problem) to apologise. His parents had clearly still been neglecting their sons behaviours throughout the years as they would've told him to stop drinking so much, but they didn't until he got the kidney problem. OP in the first story is not a jerk. The brother was incredibly cruel and narcissistic, and the parents were no better. Blatantly playing favorites, and letting him get away with his behavior while OP took the abuse from both of them. Getting outed and kicked out ( while awful and deplorable) was probably the best thing to happen to him, since he found people that actually cared about him no matter who he was. The fact they had the audacity to ask him to give his kidney after years of no contact because of his sexuality then proceeded to be mad about him for denying the brothers request just shows the OP's " family" ( obviously not including the sister ) don't actually care about him. Toxic people like that don't change no matter what you do to please/help them. Even if he gave the brother his kidney, they would have abandoned him again without a second thought. To them OP was just a last resort.

    What many people don't realize is that donating a kidney is actually a very big deal, and I don't mean that you just lose a part of a kidney - you have to be in bed without work for possibly months, and quite possibly have health issues that could last till the rest of your life. Even if it were a brother that I grew up fine with I wouldn't donate my kidney.

  • @tentaclesmod

    @tentaclesmod

    If you donate a kidney, you WILL have health problems from time to time from that, you will always have to be careful with your diet to not overwork your kidney, you will have to be careful to not overexercise since the proteins from that damage that muscles suffer after heavy exercise damage renal function, and you will lose AT LEAST five years of your lifespan. When we get old our organs lose efficiency, and your single kidney won't be able to get you too far. So you shouldn't donate a kidney unless is to someone you genuinely love enough to literally sacrifice a part of your life for. If you do it because "Is the right thing" you will resent and regret it forever, you should genuinely want to. Things that you can donate with no problem include livers (livers have an amazing regeneration ability so you can donate a third of your liver and regrow it. You can't do this more than once because the new tissue is not quite the same as the original, but you don't really need to worry about health problems, the third you donated also will become a full liver, though a somewhat misshapen one), and bone marrow (The procedure is pretty damn painful, but recovery is fast and there are no long term consequences).

Clearly, while he's DYING, he expects an immediate forgiveness from his brother and definitely doesn't act like he's living his last few days. He had no remorse. He had no intention of stopping. Idk if you've ever seen Poirot, a British TV show, but in the finale of the last episode [SPOILERS], the lovable kind detective we spent dozens of episodes with is forced to personally put a bullet in someone's head, in cold blood. This person didn't break the law but deliberately caused bad, fatal things to happen because he enjoyed it, and he didn't plan to stop. You can't send him to jail. Story #1: this story’s OP is absolutely my hero. He taught his brother not only do you not get what you want sometimes, but that karma exists. And in this case, his brothers mistreatment of him, as well as his greediness, selfishness, and entitlement cost him his life. And if anything, the OP could probably donate his kidney to someone who would actually appreciate it and learn a lesson but that’s up to him.

    Look, if you had a sibling, much less a twin, that has been shit to you from childhood to the end of HS, then tries to say bygones by saying we both did shit to each other. I’d say listen, cross examine the events, then walk out. The good twin doesn’t owe anything to his parents or their Golden child and I agree that this is karma catching up years later.

    Story 1 - You reap what you sow. Sebastian had a Chance to be a Good Brother to Op, but instead he chose to be the A-Hole, and now he's paid the price. No, OP did NOT make the wrong choice. Cause as he said, if HE was in Sebastian's place, he would be good as dead. The Family are only doing this because the GOLDEN CHILD is now gone. I mean, what did they THINK Op was going to do? Be like "Oh sure, water under the bridge, I'll happily give you my kidney bro". This isn't Black and White, it's Grey. If you wrong someone for no reason, YOU'RE going to get wronged in the worst possible way. As for the whole "Blood is thick than Water". Realistically speaking, Yes it is. But as a quote, I call BS on that. If someone betrayed me like this, they're dead to me. As for the Last Story. I'm going to be bluntly honest as possible. I would give the Parents one last chance with one month, and they do NOT buy the House by the end, I'll be selling the House and get back all the Money i put into something that I know for a fact that they are NEVR going to buy. Eff the Guilt tripping, and eff the Gaslighting. Either pay up, or shut the eff up.
