Story 4 The irony when the sister says "you left my kids with strangers". Now imagine if the op wasn't home and had already left for college or really never came back home. The sister literally drove off and went no contact for hours. Imagine if the op didn't come home that day at all these poor kids would be totally abandoned with nowhere to go and no one to contact. (Assuming the father is not in the picture.) I honestly feel bad for these kids and op who have to deal with a mum who priorities is a party over her kids. About op if I were her I would be pissed at the request of retake. Where I live if we miss tests we get a zero and later have to take the whole subject again, we have to pay for the subject and the tests and exams in the future. I feel op should stop helping this sister and maybe reduce talking to her parents too. These people not only disrespect her but also don't care about ops personal life and space.

For me when I see someone with a note in their lunch box I get envious cuz that's proof someone cares. Definitely not the jerk for dropping her sister's kids at the daycare. She told her sister that she could not babysit and her sister completely ignored that and dropped her kids off anyway, and she knew she was doing something wrong by the fact that she didn't even stick around till the kids were inside. Her sister is lucky that she cared enough about her kids to put them into daycare. She is a bad mother. It wasn't even an emergency, it was so she could hang out with her friends which if OP was free that day to watch them would be fine but she already said she wasn't and that she had something important (much more important than an escape room with friends) to do. Story #4: its very hard to get an exam rescheduled in college and you have to have a valid reason to even get that consideration and baby sitting your sister's kids is not one of them. I know a friend who didn't write an exam with us and the lecturer refused to reschedule the exam for her even though she had a valid reason for it, she ended up failing the course.

The Karen saying “it’s proper etiquette to talk to ppl you are sitting next to.” If I was in this situation I probably would’ve responded saying “You know what else is proper etiquette not taking someone else’s seat”. Why did she want the window seats when either the middle seat or aisle seat would likely be better for her bc she doesn’t have to walk as much and it would be easier for her to get to the bathroom. Being able to get to to the bathroom easier is better for a pregnant lady

Op really didn’t do much in the story except give an opinion, so assuming they aren’t leaving something out like teasing the person then I don’t think they were an AH. That said they should probably just apologise and see it they can just both move on, it’s kind of a nothing situation tbh.

I’m in a program where even in finals it makes close to no exceptions unless there’s a huge emergency and even then they’re kind of like “your problem, not mine” in the situation. She is the oldest of 8 and she hated doing this and one time she was older (I don’t remember how old) she was going to a new year party with her friends and she heard her parents talking about a party that they were gonna go to and asked who was going to babysit her younger siblings, and her mom said that that thought that she would which made her mad so she said no she can’t. “ But you have to.”Her mom said. ok the plane story was great. if I thought of something like this I would so do it otherwise if there was a way to ask the attendant to give him another seat being he was a kid and those people were noticeably hostile to him I bet that would give him a seat somewhere. the nanny is amazing. putting positive notes in her lunch is great . I also don't think it would be embracing I in fact think it would be a cute little conversation starter with her friends. as for the day care story. the sister is lucky op decided to drop the kids off at day care because op had no obligation to the kids and had the legal right to just call the cops and report the kid's as abandoned and that as some would likely guess could get CPS involved and that would cause more problems for the mom . she may have been mad but doing such an action she should realize it could have gotten worse in so many ways

The fact that him saying that he wants Op to tell everyone that she makes more money than him is pretty telling. I read stories where people would do these sorts of things & then say "Do it because you have this" & then that Op would say no & they would be pissed, but the minute someone does the same exact thing to them, they don't like it & tell them off. Story #4: OP is not a jerk at all! -She handled it very responsibly, putting the children in the hands of a professional childcare giver, giving the daycare all contact info (for herself as well as the mother), picking up the kids as soon as she could, and feeding and taking care of them after her own obligation was met. The women's parents couldn't or wouldn't do it that day... So why, just because OP's young and still in school should she have to do it when she said she, herself had something important to do already? Just because the sister can't think to call a daycare? Hopefully the sister will learn not to take the OP for granted from now on and listen to the actual answer to her requests. Also, it would be really, really appropriate for the sister and their parents to acknowledge how well OP dealt with the situation, given that she wasn't given any choice at all.
