About to pull the trigger on some Method VT spec 501s. Not as many people run them compared to the 502s and they keep the factory offset. Keeping it as close to stock spacing and increasing capability is what my build is all about. Most likely going to wrap it with Falken Wildpeak A/T trails. Loved the atw3 on my Gladiator before getting Ridge Grapplers, and was surprised how well they kept up with even some MT tires. Now, I am hoping the A/T trail can do the same thing and keep up with the "true" A/T tires as well as keeping weight down and not losing handling characteristics.

Loveeee the 501's!! My friend is running them on his WRX hatch🥵 The AT Trail will help retain a lot of the factory handling etc. I have helped repair a lot of them in the trail. The sidewalls let go pretty easy. But as long as you stay out of the crazy stuff and carry a spare, should be fine!

@LiftedImports7 Exactly why I got a roof basket, can carry the full-size spare and some recovery gear while everything inside stays nice and dry. I'm going to make sure to use it in the tire rotation so I don't have to worry about uneven wear.

Yes, it's quite hard to get those stuff. 😅you need to order them overseas which shipping cost is pretty expensive plus tax if the item is over $170. most of the available accessories here are for pick up trucks and mid size SUVs for Subaru the option is very limited unless you got a deep pocket 😂good thing there are shops who fabricate steel skid plates. which part of asia you live before? They need to be lighter some of these wheels are heavy you and d load tires that’s putting a lot weight on the system! Wheel companies are getting lazy!!! More for looks than functional!

  • @LiftedImports7

I disagree. The majority of these wheels are relatively light and the last two options are absurdly light for a non forged wheel. But I do agree. I regularly encourage people to select the lightest duty tire for their Subaru that will still do the job. That's one of the biggest killers of power and fuel economy. Not to mention the wear and tear implications.

I've got a 2024 Outback Wilderness and am so torn on the best wheel choice for all the reasons you stated. I contemplated the ultra lights having some road race experience but wasn't sure it would work. Being that I'm in Florida but plan some northern Mountain trails, I think I can get away with the light wheels... although mud happens so there's that. Thanks for the video and the food for thought.

@@larrylocklar5351 you're one of the few people that understands the value in forged wheels. Most people will just buy the cheapest wheel possible for the looks instead of quality. That may be why wheel companies are making less of them now💔 I appreciate the kind words! What kind of Subaru do you have?

@@gage1428 honestly, I say go for it! Unless you're doing something specifically harsh all the time, a lightweight "tuner" wheel should be just fine. I'd love to see pics of the car when you're done with it! Is it lifted over stock obw height?
