My Most Beautiful Stafford Gambit
Ойындар
Watch live: / imrosen
In this video, I play one of the best games of the Stafford Gambit (against a strong opponent in rapid chess) that I've ever had. The game finishes in such artistic fashion, it should be displayed in an art gallery.

I can't stand when people resign, a lot of the time. If your opponent has an imminent mate then let them execute it, don't ruin the fun by resigning. If you made a blunder in the first ten moves just keep playing and try to turn it around, don't resign.
@speedstyle.
3 жыл бұрын
@@amaryllis0 Depends on the game. If it's an actual endgame, and you're just playing it out in hope of a stalemate or flag, that's a bit disrespectful. If you're about to be mated by some nice positioning then yeah it's nice to give them the ending.
@amaryllis0
3 жыл бұрын
@@speedstyle. I personally dislike cheesing it so your opponent flags despite having a winning position, but I wouldn't say it's always bad, because time management is an important skill too. I don't agree that it's disrespectful to play for stalemate. If you resign here, you're cutting out an important part of the game - checkmate, especially piece mates - and allowing your opponent to not have to learn and practice it At GM level, sure it's disrespectful, but at amateur level? Nah
@speedstyle.
3 жыл бұрын
@@amaryllis0 Yeah I personally go all the way because I'm like 1000 (there's a 50-50 chance that they do stalemate). But at a higher level I think it could be a little disrespectful. Flagging less so, winning on time is fair enough.
