I love your videos and find them very entertaining and learning about diverse authors that American mainstream publishers don't necessarily promote. You and A Bookish Realm are my two favorite booktubers and always get fantastic recs from you both. I totally understand your need for a break and not wanting reading to become a chore or not enjoyable anymore, but don't think nobody cares about you or your videos because we do.🥰 Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, & Happy New Year.

Saajid: wishing you the best in your last year of grad school, and your evolving relationship with leisure reading. Although I don't produce bookish content, I relate to your sense of fatigue conversely as a viewer who once consumed copious amounts of BookTube but does so rarely these days. Every good thing to you in the New Year . . .

I appreciate your videos and love that you don’t do mainstream books. I haven’t been exposed to a lot of Caribbean authors but because of you I am. As for the break You definitely have to protect your energy. I love and support your content and videos. Hope you find some peace ;)

If you're not into The Great Gatsby, you might want to try The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo. It's a retelling of that story from the perspective of a queer Vietnamese woman. I have not read it myself but I'm reliably told that it's fantastic.

All I can say don't blame your self for the views. Everything changed with new algorithm. Your new videos used to appear on my dashboard and now even being subscribed I had to type your channel name in the search bar to find this video. Anyways have a good break and good luck with your studies.

It seems like a lot of booktubers are putting pressure on themselves to upload more, at least I've noticed that in some of those I follow. I hope your classes go well, I'm always sending positive vibes your way and I hope these few months off can help you out. "honestly I kind of hate men" lmao same (besides the few I'm subbed to). Glad you enjoyed Sky Burial, it sounds interesting, I'll check it out! Ooh, it's always fun finding a new bookstore, glad you bought yourself some books

I get it. I have burn out with my romance podcast often. Sometimes you need a break. That's why I started my Booktube. It's hard to find a balance when you feel like what you read must be content instead of a bonus. (Also, I hated Great Gatsby. I'm sure it was better in Zelda's diary anyway. It's required for us in high school. Mostly it's watching the 1% be awful people. I can see that now with social media. Need no middle man.)

Namaste & Hello Saajid, its always good to take a break and focus on important things.I've a lot to catch up with, on this channel of yours, I had participated in your Sci-Fi September 2021 Readathon, read quite a handful of books(around 4 of them ) but could not film the wrap up as I just ran out of time.Speaking of which I absolutely loved the Readathon & especially loved watching the discord discussions. I liked the small bookstore video vlog you made earlier this year & also hope that you'll be able to share more of your thoughts on sci fi & Carribean literature. Looking forward to Sci-Fi September 2022 Readathon- hope you find the time to host it next year too!!! Wishing you a Very Happy Birthday (5th January 2022) & a Good Year ahead😊!!!

I agree with you that book KZread content has become tedious. I think that breaks are good. Your fans will be here when you finish school and possibly have more leisure time for reading 📖. Then you can make a video now and then whenever you feel like it. It’s totally 💯 okay. I love 💕 you!

Last comment. I'm so bad at putting it all in one message. Yes, Booktube is a lot of pressure to conform to making the current type of content people like. And I think if that works for people it's okay. I don't like easily following into that trap of producing things I'm not really into and a big goal of mine for the second year of my channel is to do more of what I want to do.

Wait this is so random, but I read an article through my university library about wizard of oz through a queer lens!! And maybe you’d like it if your university library has access to it or if you can find it around the internet. It’s by Tison Pugh, called “There lived in the Land of Oz two queerly made men”: Queer Utopianism and Antisocial Eroticism in L. Frank Baum’s Oz Series

10 books in a month? I’ve probably read 10 books in 6 months. That’s so much pressure on you, and I’m sure by now reading isn’t even fun anymore, and that’s a shame, darling heart. Take your break and return to us because we do love you 😽

I also really don't enjoy The Great Gatsby. Most of my high school class loved it but I found it more infuriating than anything else. Even in college, I had friends who said it was their favorite "classic" and I still haven't figured out what people seem to see in it.

I LOVE the author name you have for the Great Gatsby in your description 😄. Secondly, the comparison of the “gay without being gay” aspects of Wizard of Oz and Andrew Garfield. Love your channel, and everyone deserves a nice break on a regular basis. Lastly, have you seen the show, “Only Murders in the Building”? Great cast and fun character development. Reminds me the Italian book that you just read; I’ll be adding the book to my TBR

I found your channel in Sept through Sci-Fi Sept and quite enjoy your videos. Views are overrated. I get like 10 views a video. I really enjoy your videos and really loved the journey around Trinidadian Bookstores you did. Also, I too dislike Great Gatsby.

The Italian book sounds absolutely fantastic, I am going to put it on my TBR list immediately. I already have the Xinran book there too (I liked her nonfiction book I’ve read, and also I’m interested in Tibet and China, so.) I also didn’t care for The Great Gatsby. The Wizard of Oz was one of my fav childhood books! I read it in translation tho, and haven’t seen any of the movies (I’m not American). Take your time with BookTube, and Happy Christmas and Holidays and New Year!

I didn’t love The Great Gatsby. I don’t get the love for it. Underwhelmed is the world. 69 pages made me laugh. I am sorry you’re having a Booktube funk and are taking a breaks but I get it. I have had some funky moments in the last year partly because of the panda pop. Partly because I read for work and I just felt hooked out. Hope it passes and you’re back soon.
