What a lovely selection of books, I loooved Braiding Sweetgrass, I'd recommend reading along with or listening to the audiobook if you're able, it's read by the author and her excitement comes across so much as she's talking about both the scientific studies and indigenous wisdom and her enthusiasm and tenderness is contagious and heartwarming. Based on some of the books you showed you might like "We Have Always Been Here" by Samra Habib! I read it in one sitting, it's a queer Muslim memoir 🙌 That cake looks PROFESSIONAL, happy bday!

Everyone keeps recommending the audiobook for braiding sweet grass! I'll definitely take you up on that. You my taste well, I've read Samra Habibs book a couple years and really loved it!

Temple Folk - Aaliyah Bilal, I have also never read much on the Black Muslim American experience, even on media I don't think we see it much the only one that comes to mind is when Ramy(the hulu series)married a Black Muslim/when he had a Black Muslim Imam. 2.This Arab Is Queer: An Anthology by LGBTQ+ Arab Writers - this seems like it will intersect with a lot of your interests. It's edited by a Palestinian and tackles queerhood, religion, Muslim politics, Migration etc. Your cake looked really good!!

I listened to the author on the Ologies podcast about her field of study, Moss! Its was truly eyeopening bc i didnt know anyrhing about it so. Anythinv from her i have been wanting to check out. #2 havent had much time to read in recent years and any books i have read, i took recommendation from your videos 😅💜 so i will recommendation Ambiguity Machines by Vandana Singh. Its a collection of her short stories so im able to read somethings manageable during busy times. Here is to a new year 🎉
