I've been through that. My first wife always told me I was crazy and would constantly play the victim, even breaking down crying because I was suspicious of her and telling me I was breaking her heart. Turned out I was right and she'd been sleeping with at least one of her subordinates the whole time (in his mommy and daddy's house, no less). The divorce was gut-wrenching and I had a hard time trusting myself (let alone other people) for a long time afterwards. That hurt doesn't go away, but it becomes easier to carry.

The man clearly makes 6 figures and is still working while his wife has serious health issues and been a stay at home mom since they were married 20 years ago. She makes 48k a year alone on her fixed income. The only way I see her walking away from this with 90% is they must had a nice lifestyle that the judge wanted her to maintain after the divorce, and while the husband would keep his lifestyle regardless of the divorce, she would not. Why is her expenses so low and why is she worried about shopping sprees making her lose her money and how is it possible her expenses are only 1500 a month. She's not telling the entire story. I think she really is accustom to shopping sprees and spending well over 4k a month when she was with her husband and now she's has to take a step back cause her card won't be refilled by him.

One problem I actually don’t think was addressed properly. The two kids are adults. The wife is being over stressed because she’s not telling them the whole story, and is having to be the in-between for communicating with the dad. They need to know what’s up, they are adults. She shouldn’t have to take that extra stress on. If they were little kids, yes, but adults, no.

Agree, so many divorced people, especially women feel the one area they can “win” is to bring the brokenness to their children and that when the kids hate and have no relationship with the other parent that’s their “win.” Sick 🤢 thinking. This woman needs to be very very careful, her brokenness will attract the vultures coming in saviours clothing to take control of her money for “investment” “love” etc and if she’s so desperate she’ll crawl through the sand for affirmation she’ll be helped out of her $650 000 and her house.

As a woman, and as a long-time RN who has worked with families, children, and the mentally ill - I was horrified at what John did. He pushed this very mentally ill, very hurting, very vulnerable woman (likely suffering with postpartum depression) down a path that would further isolate her. And she can 100% set boundaries around the information they feed back to her, whilst letting them know the truth about the break down in the relationship without judging them for wanting to keep their dad in their lives. The father has no right to ask for or expect discretion in this situation (not knowing if he has), whilst the mother can be tactful about how she tells the truth she also has no obligation to lie about the hurt it has caused her but she can't control her children and shouldn't judge them if they continue to want to talk with their father. I suspect if the kids are already refusing to talk to him they sort of know what's up, the daughter apparently doesn't want to talk with him, she probably has already heard her mother crying or heard them arguing.

Giving advice and not knowing both sides is dangerous. My wife cries but never tells the whole story. How long did she not sleep with him or often? She got bypass surgery, so what for? If one partner let's themselves go, then there is going to be some errors.

Well then you get a divorce. You don't go out and sleep with a football team's worth of people, but then lie and gaslight when confronted.

Those aren’t kids, those are adults that are going to have to accept the truth, cope, heal and then choose whether or not they want to pursue a relationship with dad. Also, you can hear in her voice that she is hurt and desperately needs therapy. She’s defeated and has no fight in her. In the coming years she could be a mighty warrior or she could be a hot mess for the rest of her life. That’ll be her choice.

She seems like a control freak. One of those people who has to have things just a certain way. When she said she was going to take care of her kids, every second ... her children are old enough to hear the truth.

Geesh....this woman needs a therapist not financial guidance...she drove me nuts, probably drove her husband nuts.

She needs to get into professional therapy ASAP. And no relationships for a while until she builds herself up piece by piece.

After listening to everything she says, I still don't understand why she's crying, what is wrong with her or what kind of problem she's encountering. I see none.

Seems like you need to listen more carefully. Her husband cheated repeatedly on her and she had to quickly divorce and move away. Her world was toppled over and she is releasing grief and sorrow to two people who are listening and helping her. Are you on the spectrum, or just really closed off emotionally?

She probably didn’t want to go into super specific details on air - for all we know he gave her HIV and it went undiagnosed for so long (since she didn’t know he was cheating on her) and now it’s full blown AIDS. Who knows!!

I don't understand why she's crying about the divorce, either. When I was her age, I was seriously ill a whole year, in and out of the hospital, when I discovered my husband was a cheater. After the divorce, I had to struggle financially, and my kids were still young at the time. Still, I was happy to be divorced. If I'd been in this woman's financial situation, I would've been absolutely ecstatic. :-)
