Talking about her Jeep, she said she bought it for $45K and she's "had it for a long time" and only owes $17K. That's very telling. She's had the car for less than 4 years. If you think having a vehicle for a long time is 3 or 4 years, you're doomed to waste money on cars forever.

We just literally joined the 2 comma club yesterday. We have 3 paid off cars. A 2005, a 2008, and a 2015. All were used. In fact we just replaced the side mirrors on the 2005 this morning bc they broke. It's our emergency car at this point. I agree. She doesn't know what she's doing if she thinks having a new car for 4 years is a long time. What is wrong with people?

She said that her Mom gives them $200/ month when she can but they have 10K in the bank, live in a 600K house, and have 2 Jeeps, and 5 dogs. There is Something is broken in their spirit. This is not the American dream but a nightmare.

Fellow Las Vegas resident here. She can rent a house for $2000 EASY - but it’s not going to be in the affluent area she’s used to. It’s going to be in a regular middle class neighborhood (which are great out here) . With the price of her home, I have an idea or two where she lives. It’s expensive and definitely upper middle class. She just doesn’t want to downgrade and make the sacrifices to get debt free. SELL the house. Pay off the debts with equity, and maybe even downgrade those fancy Jeeps. Get a $2000 rental. And go back to work. That’s what needs to be done. She doesn’t want to give up the lifestyle and what it looks like to others. Stop thinking about your presentation and image and start looking at the numbers!

Yup. Over 500 properties for rent currently under $2k/mo. on my search. From what I see on my real estate app and a friend of mine living there once you cross $2300/mo. the homes to rent and areas look very nice but many homes are too big for what they have(2kids). All they need is a 2bed/2bath with a laundry and get rid of the dogs.

The caller and her husband can't even make good decisions for their own children, I wouldn't want those two teaching mine. Homeschooling for the win!

I have one dog, and no debt, and the cost of keeping my one dog gives me pause. A dog is a luxury. Five dogs is an extraordinary luxury. If you are broke, you cannot afford extraordinary luxuries.

A $600k home in Las Vegas is a MANSION! Living way beyond their means.

As a parent, I would not give my adult kids a dime while they were living in a $600k house.

I would have ended the call after that. They want to care and feed five dogs but so broke with two kids they are returning groceries back to grocery store. No point in talking to those people.

I literally make 5,000 a month take home doing food app M - F in bay area and literally pays for some extra and wouldn't even cover half our bills. I don't know how people get into this kinda mess on 5,000 take home.

What they should do is move the whole family into the master bedroom and rent out the other bedrooms to college age girls until they have some of the debt cleared. Also sell the Jeep they’re most underwater on, and have the family be a one car family for now

Exactly. SAHMs can still bring in some money. Work weekends or evenings when your husband is home or tutor/work from home part time or something while your little ones nap or have quiet time. Or if you’re near family sometimes they might be able to help out if you’re only working part time! There’s so many ways to avoid daycare and still clear debt. Also, drive old used cars you don’t both need a $45k Jeep. A lot of people are kind of clueless and think it’s normal to live so far above your means. Having a sahp means that parent still needs to bring in at least some income even if they just work a little or you need to really adjust your lifestyle.

Every single decision is more debt: bought a Jeep with payment, bought another Jeep, ignore the student loan, get a dog, get 4 more. Have a kid, can't stop there, must have another. Now the wife have 2+5 reasons to not work and stay home.

They might’ve needed to put a couple grand on the credit cards to pay for their kids to eat in desperate times but they definitely didn’t need to go out and get two nice jeeps. Take some responsibility

I get the sense that these people will never learn how to handle money responsibly.

Definitely. We have one. And it’s tempting to get more, but we realistically cannot afford another dog. We also have senior cats. And they’re aging and need care and meds we didn’t really plan for. (We got them within a year or two of each other. They’re our first pets as adults and clearly didn’t think about what their needs would be as they age.)

Yeah, I have 1 cat myself. I've thought about getting another kitty, but decided to get into a better financial situation. My situation is pretty good, but before I get another one, I want to be even better off. I want to make sure that my house is paid off before adding a new kitty to my home. Pets can be very expensive. Food, litter, vet, etc. And that doesn't even take into account if an unexpected medical situation comes up all of a sudden. We have to love our pets enough to make sure that we can take care of them. If one of their dogs gets really sick, how are they going to pay for it when they are already drowning? The poor dog may die because they can't afford the vet visit or the medication that the dog would need to be able to save its life.

Exactly! I know too many people who think some cheap dog or cat food is all it takes to have pets. People forget or ignore vet costs. Our 14-year-old cat cost us about $3000 in a 5-week period this past spring. We can afford it, so it was fine, and he's doing pretty well now. But our 2 cats both have health conditions that require prescription diets and regular vet visits and meds. It's expensive! Too many folks forget that pet ownership includes getting them the medical care they need. It's a money suck, but necessary, so you have to be able to pay for it.

I don’t own a dog but ask neighbors about theirs. Vet bills and food are whipping many now …..well most could not really afford them to begin with if they had done the math. Only people I see with no issue having a dog are retired and handful of others who have money and know math. People are beginning to release their dog out in the country and drive off. This is a type of economic meter in Oklahoma.

Good day all👍🏻 from Australia 🇦🇺. I have read a lot of posts that people are very happy with the financial guidance she is giving them ! What way can I get to her exactly ?

How did they ever think they could pay an almost $700k mortgage on a $90k salary? A $900 a month car payment? These two have been living the keeping up with the Jones' lifestyle and it bit them in the ass.

These are the type of people i look at everyday at traffic stops and say "wow I bet they are in a ton of debt". Turns out they are. I drive a used car I paid in cash. No kids, no mortgage, no credit card debt. Life is good.

You know whats not s good idea? Buying $90K in cars when you have kids.

I have a lower mortgage, more income, and no cc debt or student loans, but have never even considered a $45,000 car. Same people who want their student loans forgiven though because the system is “unfair”

@@HB-fj3iiI can almost guarantee she was working and already pregnant with the now 2 year old and they needed to “upgrade” because of the new baby and not having enough space (because with 5 dogs the house is probably CHAOS even if they are well behaved. Then she decided to “be a stay at home mom because of daycare costs”…

They have dogs like my annoying neighbors because they're status symbols. However, no one wants to take care of the dogs. They let the dogs out to bark all day while they go back inside to make more kids they can't afford. THAT is the problem

Yeah. I just can't fathom a bank loaning money on a 600k mortgage to a couple that makes 90-100k. The math isn't mathing. Honestly, even people making 200k shouldn't buy a home that's 600k.

I make a little less than 90k and bought my house last year for 159k. Payment is $880 a month. I could've bought a more expensive house but didn't wanna be house poor. These people are insane buying a house for 600k.

That is true. I forgot that she mentioned that her credit was bad. So even if they do sell the house, they won't be able to rent a place because of their credit. It's like they are stuck.

She and her husband are teachers, which is the #2 most common career choice for millionaires in the US. They have a huge advantage, but haven't realized it yet.

Now a days to have 5 dogs you must have huge disposanle income as one trip to vet for one dog can be hundreds upbto $1000. Super wealthy people can sfford 5 dogs

At this rate, They might even need to Rehome the kids 🤦

We can't buy food or put gas in our jeeps but boy do we look good.

Casually dropping the fact she has 5(!) dogs haha! I'd find a new home for them tomorrow

@@vickieclark5931 I don’t have pets. But I have seen these mobile veterinary hospital vehicles now and then coming through the gates where I live. Had conversations with several of my neighbors about their dogs and cats. Had no idea veterinary charged so much.

How did they even get approved for a home like that on that salary? WTF- Everyone is harping on the 5 dogs but they cant feed the 2 kids they have. Lady, you never should have been a SAHM- she could have been working after her husband came home from his job!!!!!!! WTF As a huge dog lover I would say rehome the dogs- hell the dogs probaly want out also.

This call is the perfect example of how it doesn't matter how much you make when you are living like congress.

Truly babies having babies, too! They have two kids and five dogs dependent on them, and they can't even afford to eat. Not a whole lot of hope for these two, unless they start acting like adults. Her tone in the call is acting like this all just happened to them, and they had to do what they had to do to survive.

Nothing will change for these 2 until they change their spending. Sounds like the caller has been indulged throughout her life and has zero understanding of hard times and what to do.

I feel even better in my 2000 Avalon Toyota I own it paid 4k had it for 5 years no debt make 100k a year I’m buying my house 🏠 next year stay discipline people!!!!!

I live in Las Vegas too and make $60K a year. The mortgage on my townhome is $1,550 a month with another $253 for HOA dues. I have no credit card debt or car payment which helps keeps expenses down.

They just look like they're wealthy, like many others. Keeping up with the Joneses...smh. They have to get rid of the dogs, sell the house and eat the loss on the car. That's the reality. I wish them the best and hopefully they will learn for this.

No one ever educated these educators about trying to keep up with the Jonses. So now they live in a 600k house they can’t afford, with 2 little kids and 5 dogs and 2 cars they can’t afford. How to fix it? Simple. Quit making bad choices. Find more income. Get on a budget. Quit relying on mom to save them and pay her back. Because as much as she was trying to help, she has only enabled them to continue to dig themselves into a deeper mess.

This is insanity 😳

money says they may get out of debt, but their lifestyle with vehicles says they will end up in debt again. From my experience as an advisor, once they get ahead, they reward themselves with a stupid purchase again... like a car on loan, then a boat, then a midlife crisis RV... most never escape this. They need to "appear" to others as swanky.

5 dogs and 2 kids that's too much cleaning for me.😅

I always wonder at what point these kinds of people think $900 monthly payments for a crappy Jeep. Ummm, that's a great idea, sign me up...

Dang, we make more than them, have no debt at all, $200k to put down and I’m still not considering buying a $600k place, because it seems a bit over budget. I can’t imagine the justification processes they use to dig this insane hole with credit cards and Jeep loans and dogs and that expensive house

People think Costco is inexpensive. It’s the opposite. Costco is always located in the middle class area and gives you “deals” to make you purchase the thing that you don’t need. Who needs a gallon trail mix?

Why did you think you could spend, spend, spend? Day of reckoning! If you aren’t working, sell 1 Jeep. Sell the house, or rent out some rooms in the house. From now on, buy used, live frugally.

Everyone thinks they deserve a $600k house and $100k worth of cars. $3k+ mortgage and $1.5k of car payments making only 90k?!?!?!? Absolutely wild. These people are teachers too?? Not only did they do this all themselves but they did a debt relief program which is worse 🤦‍♂️

I am surprised they qualified for a 630k mortgage on their salary. I make a little over a 100k and only qualified for a 325k mortgage and purchased a townhome for less than what I qualified for. Debt consolidation is a scam, I think they need to sell that car that is worth 15k and also take 5k out of their savings and use that money to pay down the credit card, which can save them some money to buy food. I agree about the selling the house and getting something else to dig themselves out of the debts they are in. Giving some of the dogs to someone else is also a good idea as it must be costly to feed five dogs.

I think they put down a huge down payment (maybe from mom) which is why she claims to have 150K equity in the home. If the home was purchased for 615 and able to be sold for 630, then 15K is the true equity.

They will be fine she just needs to go back to work. But I feel they will just increase there lifestyle.

This certainly sounds good too, but I think it's still worth considering more reliable options like the Unimantic platform with their MEV bot network.

My husband and I make 4x this amount but when made 100,000 a yr 10 yrs ago never did half these things. We now in amazing position financially and able do a lot dinners out, events all the time. We also only have one dog and cat due boarding cost, vet bills and food expensive for animals.
