Just reason through it. the typical 40 something has been working 20+ years. To have 100k in savings they need to put 5k a year into a savings account. That's not a big deal. You should be saving much more than that. If they put the money into a 401k it's much less because they benefit from compounding over 20 years plus a match. No you're talking closer to 1-2k a year. My father filed for bankruptcy following divorcing my mother to get out of paying child support. That was nearly 40 years ago and he is STILL BROKE. I was 6 at the time and even then knew he was making a mistake. Sometimes one really NEEDs to take this action, but using it as a "get out of jail free card" is a bad sign and an indicator that you lack accountability and will keep screwing up.

Many types of bankruptcies quire you to pay back creditors on a plan. They are often more of a restructuring of businesses, debts, minus interest, to help you back on your feet. It is far more complicated than most people can grasp. Only the lowest level requires total wipe out of any assets. Most bankruptcies require formulas, means tests etc. Rarely does anyone just get to walk away scot free without a total loss, and you can be required to salvage some assets.

That many past employers, know all these people, and no one will hire you? Wonder why.
George completely missed the point of the lease comment. Leases have milage caps, and it is very expensive if you go over those. So Uber/Lyft/DoorDash isn't a good choice if it will push him over the milage cap.

Something is missing or doesn’t add up about his situation. If he needs $7k a month that’s not considered a bare minimum ( that’s 84k annually salary that’s more than an average salary). It appears he’s living large with no money. Makes sense why he’s in debt. He needs to downsize everything and lives bare minimum and on beans and rice. Do whatever it takes dude, go flip burgers at McDonald if you have to until you make it.
This is wild.
You don't have to get robbed and then let them get away with it to "be the bigger man" 😂
How did he not have any additional money saved after the last bankruptcy in 2008 and making good money? My net worth has exponentially grown since 2008 and I haven’t made as much as he has. He is just a spender.
This guy is telling half-truths. He never says why he changes jobs so much. I was surprised that they didn't tell him to grow up and stay at a job and quit moving all over the place. He is lying about his debt. He helped run up the debt because he keeps moving all over the place and changing jobs. The changing jobs comes down to 2 things. He either is bad/corrupt at his job so he keeps getting fired, or he has a garnishment that is following him. Everytime the garnishment gets re-established at the current job, he quits and moves on to another job. Most likely he owes someone a lot of money (child support, back taxes, or judgement against him). Now he has gone through a lot of employers for his type of work, and they don't want to re-hire him because he is not reliable. This guy doesn't take responsibility for anything. "It was the wife".
Never, I repeat, never have a joint account with anyone, spouses included!
