I remember reading somewhere that domesticated dogs that are dependent on humans over thousands of years ago basically evolved what we recognize as the “sad eyed puppy dog look” for begging for food from their owners or for when they really want something from their owners. Wolves and Coyotes and Foxes on the other never evolved that particular feature being as they don’t depend on humans or have a pet owner relationship with them.

I love how friendly the wolf was. Tail tucked between the legs means "I mean you no harm and see you as my superior. May I approach you?" in wolf language. This is really awesome social behavior. She didn't want to escalate the situation by any means and thus was as polite as possible for her, giving him reassuring signs. Also, she approached slowly (I guess she might want to run towards people she knows to cuddle with them) in order not to startle Coyote. That is such a beautiful behavior! Thank you!
