My Favorite Exercises as a Pole Dancer at the Gym!
I'm a pole dancer who also loves working out at the gym, so I've spent a lot of time figuring out which exercises help me the most with inversions, climbing, just holding onto the dang pole, and more!

Yay so good to have a video from you 😊 I performed at my Xmas pole party this year , I fell behind on some of the moves but I finished with all 5 other peeps that did it with me and it was to “business” by Eminem ☺️

Aww you're sweet!
Thank you for this!! I was wondering if you have any training tips for split/full-bracket grip? Specifically the "push" part of that feels very hard on my forearms and I know I need to get stronger!

Hi! I *would* give you advice on this but people are constantly commenting telling me I'm going to break my wrist doing it the way I'm doing it... so maybe don't do my exact technique but you can train it by lifting yourself off the floor gently a few times in a row, then trying it on the other side! That's less scary than trying to hold it from a climb or something!
Wow, pole progress update soon? U look strong and confident 💪

Thank you for this! It’s super helpful! I also like to think about “ADDuctor” as bringing your legs together and saw a video once where a woman called its opposite, “ABDuctor,” like ABD = A Bad Date that you kick away 😊

omg I love that!
Thank you so much for this video! How many sets and reps do you recommend of these exercises?
@KelseyHontz

It really depends on your current fitness level, but I tend to do three sets of ten reps of most things, then when that feels too easy, I increase the weight until I can barely do like six reps and build back up to 3x10!

@@KelseyHontz That’a really helpful, thank you! I really like your Pole videos, you give us the real deal on what to expect and I appreciate you.
You look so strong!! Yes to the shoulder engagement.. I just injured myself this year and can't wait to finally be better and get back to the gym and the pole!!

I made this video and then immediately went to a class where I did *not* engage my shoulder... I didn't listen to myself!!
what exercises can i do when at home, i dont have access to the equipment
@KelseyHontz

Hi! A lot of glute kickbacks/lying leg raises/hip openers can be done with no equipment at all, and those are great for working the weird leg muscles you need for pole! Also, ab exercises that target your lower abs/hip flexors will help with things like inversions :)
My name is also Kelsey, so you were in fact talking to me. 🥲
