    You're hilarious, thanks for making this video! All I want to learn is a short pretty combo and it completely alludes me lol. Im only 4 months in but yea, stringing 3 moves together is impossssibleee. I can barely do a chair spin for 2 rotations.

  • @KelseyHontz

    It took me at least a year to be able to put moves together! The first 11 months of pole are basically just fighting for your life lol

    This is the most relatable fitness video I’ve seen. I’m 9 months into my goal of doing ONE pull up. I’ve gone from not being able to dead hang for 2 seconds (I’m not kidding) to now managing 3 sets of 12 scapular retractions. 9 MONTHS!! Progress is slow and life gets in the way. I love how your video shows this!

    This is an interesting video! I have done pole, silks, hoop, straps and trapeze (basically all haha) and currently my main dicipline in Corde Lisse (Rope). I do agree that pole can be extremely painful when you first start out however in terms of progressing into very difficult moves, both silks and rope are incredibly scary and difficult once you get to the level of doing more acrobatics/dynamic moves which can be very risky. Flipping and sommersaulting meters up in the air isn't for the faint hearted. I found that mastering pole requires as much strength and calisthenics as any other dicipline but has a lot more dance/artistry which can also be hard to get right for some without a dance background. Rope and Silks is pure strength endurance with some rests in the air, silks being a bit more forgiving. Don't get me started on straps though.... my god its very difficult and requires a lot of acrobatic/strength techniques you would find in a similar dicipline like gymnastics rings. Which one is hardest is totally up to the person and what they are comfortable with! But for me personally, Rope/Silk and Straps are the most challenging which is why it has become my main dicipline of over 12 years!

  • @KelseyHontz
    @KelseyHontz25 күн бұрын

    I definitely think the memorization/technical aspect of vertical apparatuses like ropes and silk is super hard: having to know exactly where to move the fabric, exactly what wrap to do, and exactly what part of your body to move so it catches you when you do a big drop?? Terrifying!!

    where i learn pole dance, we dont invert until we get to the intermediate stage. And even then, every individual has different capabilities; even though im a beginner (literally only been doing this for a few months) I have a few "intermediate" tricks learnt, because that's where the strength of my body lies. And every lesson (which I do in a group class btw) starts with a warm-up and brief ab workout.

  • @KelseyHontz
    @KelseyHontz29 күн бұрын

    I also consider inverting to be intermediate!

    Watched this at double speed which made it even more intense for how poorly i can keep up doung these videos. Im ancient and its more about getting lower body strength than ever hoping (or wanting) a perfect butt. Your message is solid, have YA kids who actually care about body image. NTL you're also right that the fundamentals in the program will build lean muscle mass and thats generally good for us all. Fun video, good message.

    Hey Beautiful! I have a couple of questions: 1. Which pleaser kiss heals are those?! Do you suggest sizing up or down when ordering pleaser kiss heals? 2. How tall is your ceiling? I’m thinking of buying a pole for my 7ft high basement, but im concerned I won’t be able to get enough reach. Thanks in advance! ❤

  • @KelseyHontz
    @KelseyHontzАй бұрын

    Hi! These are just Pleaser... sandals, I think? They're seven inches and I got a size 8 even though I wear a 7 1/2-- I'd recommend going up if you're a half size! And my ceiling is 9 feet high. With a 7 foot ceiling, you'll be limited a bit, but if you're mostly a floor work/low flow person, that wouldn't be a problem!

    Hi! A lot of glute kickbacks/lying leg raises/hip openers can be done with no equipment at all, and those are great for working the weird leg muscles you need for pole! Also, ab exercises that target your lower abs/hip flexors will help with things like inversions :)

    I stop watching any video that uses it and never watch anything by that person again. How can I trust you to discuss an adult subject when you use such infantilizing language? It's like a major league baseball player being scared of the ball. You have no business being on the field. Anyone who bends the knee to this shit is a traitor to free expression and no better than the censors pushing this nonsense in the first place.

  • @KelseyHontz
    @KelseyHontzАй бұрын

    I partially agree with you-- like I said, I too won't click on a video if someone won't/can't use the real words for something they're discussing -- however, I don't think people are "traitors to free expression" for finding ways around this censorship!

    I don't blame season 4 for being season 4. The middle of final seasons are often pretty rough. There's that weird point where you're sort of stuck halfway between ramping up to the ending, and trying to do business as usual, while also cramming in the pairings that haven't been done yet, trying to hit the highlights, wrap up smaller stories, tell a seasonal arc, it's a lot. I generally give final seasons a pass. The good ones are still good, but I feel like you have to relax your brain a little to enjoy them generally. And I don't have that hard a time doing that with CXGF because even though most of the best moments are behind, and the pacing and ideas just aren't as strong, it's still CXGF and it's still a wonderful show

Did anyone else genuinely not think that Naomi would find that on her laptop??
