You're hilarious, thanks for making this video! All I want to learn is a short pretty combo and it completely alludes me lol. Im only 4 months in but yea, stringing 3 moves together is impossssibleee. I can barely do a chair spin for 2 rotations.
It took me at least a year to be able to put moves together! The first 11 months of pole are basically just fighting for your life lol
Gotta place that bottom hand up much higher in your invert so yiu can push away and up . Youll get it ❤
You mean in the regular invert? I find it a lot harder with my hands up higher!
How are you poling with bare legs on that silicone wrap 😭. Thats torture for me. I wear either jeans or my grippy leggings . Your pain tolerance is definately higher than mine. Good progress by the way 👍
It's not a silicone wrap! That's just my powder-coated pole lol
Always remember you can do whatever you want forever <3
This is an amazing video thank you for your hardwork! U lifted my spirits
I soooooooo needed this thank you thank you thank you!
This is the most relatable fitness video I’ve seen. I’m 9 months into my goal of doing ONE pull up. I’ve gone from not being able to dead hang for 2 seconds (I’m not kidding) to now managing 3 sets of 12 scapular retractions. 9 MONTHS!! Progress is slow and life gets in the way. I love how your video shows this!
I made this video over a year ago and guess what I still can't do :P
@@KelseyHontz 🤣🤣
I loveeee your humor lmao
This is an interesting video! I have done pole, silks, hoop, straps and trapeze (basically all haha) and currently my main dicipline in Corde Lisse (Rope). I do agree that pole can be extremely painful when you first start out however in terms of progressing into very difficult moves, both silks and rope are incredibly scary and difficult once you get to the level of doing more acrobatics/dynamic moves which can be very risky. Flipping and sommersaulting meters up in the air isn't for the faint hearted. I found that mastering pole requires as much strength and calisthenics as any other dicipline but has a lot more dance/artistry which can also be hard to get right for some without a dance background. Rope and Silks is pure strength endurance with some rests in the air, silks being a bit more forgiving. Don't get me started on straps though.... my god its very difficult and requires a lot of acrobatic/strength techniques you would find in a similar dicipline like gymnastics rings. Which one is hardest is totally up to the person and what they are comfortable with! But for me personally, Rope/Silk and Straps are the most challenging which is why it has become my main dicipline of over 12 years!
I definitely think the memorization/technical aspect of vertical apparatuses like ropes and silk is super hard: having to know exactly where to move the fabric, exactly what wrap to do, and exactly what part of your body to move so it catches you when you do a big drop?? Terrifying!!
I did the same
No way!! I didn't know anybody else ever got stuck lol
This video is so iconic I wish you were my gym partner 😂
love it....I am sooooo motivated...
valencia yelling at rebecca to stop showing josh her cervix will probably live in my mind forever, the pole dancing scene was so awesome
I think of that every time I go to a pole class! And also Rebecca's line "it was a feminist pole dancing class!!"
Informative and entertaining!
Awesome video
Love thissss thank you !
where i learn pole dance, we dont invert until we get to the intermediate stage. And even then, every individual has different capabilities; even though im a beginner (literally only been doing this for a few months) I have a few "intermediate" tricks learnt, because that's where the strength of my body lies. And every lesson (which I do in a group class btw) starts with a warm-up and brief ab workout.
I also consider inverting to be intermediate!
Watched this at double speed which made it even more intense for how poorly i can keep up doung these videos. Im ancient and its more about getting lower body strength than ever hoping (or wanting) a perfect butt. Your message is solid, have YA kids who actually care about body image. NTL you're also right that the fundamentals in the program will build lean muscle mass and thats generally good for us all. Fun video, good message.
Ok, ima let you finish, but the Santa Ana Winds episode was the greatest OF ALL TIME
Hey Beautiful! I have a couple of questions: 1. Which pleaser kiss heals are those?! Do you suggest sizing up or down when ordering pleaser kiss heals? 2. How tall is your ceiling? I’m thinking of buying a pole for my 7ft high basement, but im concerned I won’t be able to get enough reach. Thanks in advance! ❤
Hi! These are just Pleaser... sandals, I think? They're seven inches and I got a size 8 even though I wear a 7 1/2-- I'd recommend going up if you're a half size! And my ceiling is 9 feet high. With a 7 foot ceiling, you'll be limited a bit, but if you're mostly a floor work/low flow person, that wouldn't be a problem!
@@KelseyHontz Thanks for the response hon ♥️ appreciate it 🙏
The look on the face as its inflating
what exercises can i do when at home, i dont have access to the equipment
Hi! A lot of glute kickbacks/lying leg raises/hip openers can be done with no equipment at all, and those are great for working the weird leg muscles you need for pole! Also, ab exercises that target your lower abs/hip flexors will help with things like inversions :)
Most of the episodes are the worst episodes.
bold of you to comment such a thing
I went through this journey this year as well! I am reminded now that pole is not just “trick collecting” it can be so many other things :)
See I wonder if it's the gloves themselves. We have a girl at our studio who uses grippy gloves and never seems to have an issue (she's L3 and comfortably inverting with them). I think I'll stick to monkey grip 😂
I know someone who can do a million tough tricks wearing gloves and I'm like... where did I go wrong? :P
I stop watching any video that uses it and never watch anything by that person again. How can I trust you to discuss an adult subject when you use such infantilizing language? It's like a major league baseball player being scared of the ball. You have no business being on the field. Anyone who bends the knee to this shit is a traitor to free expression and no better than the censors pushing this nonsense in the first place.
I partially agree with you-- like I said, I too won't click on a video if someone won't/can't use the real words for something they're discussing -- however, I don't think people are "traitors to free expression" for finding ways around this censorship!
The stare out the window is so real 😂
Girl you rock, so much distance to yourself! Respect ❤
hey ! why the website is down and on Instagram people commenting that this brand is a scam ? :O
I don't know why their website is down! But I definitely got what I ordered when I ordered it like three years ago!
God I love your videos, it makes me feel happy and seen whenever you upload- just a fantastic look at normal pole progress that isn’t unobtainable and unrealistic. Always happy to see you upload! 😊
Is it reusable?
Yes! You just have to wipe it clean (even though I've never done that lol)
What a wonderful list (both of them). I enjoyed your insights and of course reliving my favorite show with another fan. #1 was brilliant-strip away is good enough to claim that spot but 4 great songs-yessssss!! Thanks for doing this. I’m always looking for more discussion of my face show!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed these videos!! I don't meet enough fans of the show in the real world!
Nathaniel is irrelevant was once of my favourites because it came out right after i had my youngest son and i got to laugh so hard thatbi peed a little and it was the first time i laughed about his very traumatic and life threatening birth. Such a great show.
Amazing job!! You should do Fka Twigs’ Cellophane routine ☺️
Ooh that's on my list!
@20:00 It's interesting that you say You Ruined Everything isn't funny. I find it funny. Mostly because, that's basically what it sounds like in my head, pretty much all of the time. I guess you're not supposed to find it quite that relatable.
someone commented once "we're not meant to find Rebecca quirky and relatable" and I was like... don't call me out like this lol
I don't blame season 4 for being season 4. The middle of final seasons are often pretty rough. There's that weird point where you're sort of stuck halfway between ramping up to the ending, and trying to do business as usual, while also cramming in the pairings that haven't been done yet, trying to hit the highlights, wrap up smaller stories, tell a seasonal arc, it's a lot. I generally give final seasons a pass. The good ones are still good, but I feel like you have to relax your brain a little to enjoy them generally. And I don't have that hard a time doing that with CXGF because even though most of the best moments are behind, and the pacing and ideas just aren't as strong, it's still CXGF and it's still a wonderful show
My name is also Kelsey, so you were in fact talking to me. 🥲
Pole is harder for me than lyra. I feel like I'm not doing very well in pole. I love the straddle with the silks. I want to try silks
I am sorry.... Did you just trash the apple man song???? Disliked. (jk great video)
I'd never be caught chompin' on a kumquat!
I’m bummed Lyndon Smith didn’t get any songs. I loved her in Alleluia
No way, I didn't know she could sing!!
❤
I think my problem with the RomCom Dream Sequence in "I'm Almost Over You" is... it feels like it's mostly just references to The Devil Wears Prada?
It definitely is because co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna wrote the screenplay for that!
Honestly, I hate body hair, not because of the way it looks but because of how it feels, it just feels so itchy, yes I do have autism, you can probably tell
Don't be shy, you look great 💖
I'm asexual tooooo!!! I love watching pole dancing, it's so cool! This just makes me enjoy your stuff even more!
I'm astonished that I never want to see Josh again is so low honestly. Idk I guess that's just how good cxg is that this episode is right in the middle? (also. Did anyone else genuinely not think that Naomi would find that on her laptop?? I really thought she was just sad Facebook stalking Paula so that blew my actual mind) Also idk if you'd ever want to take on that monster task but what about ranking the songs? Curious how alike to the episodes ranking it would be!
It would be higher, maybe, if I could stomach watching it again, but I just find that episode SO hard to get through and, as the title says... I never want to see (this episode) again :P I would rank the songs but I believe there's already a ranking video on KZread!
@@KelseyHontz oh yeah that tracks. It's really rough Also you talking about the final episode made me tear up :'). I need to rewatch this show
That whole thing was amazing! You are fearless, and I love it!
I've described pole as the hardest sport you'll ever love. Frustrating, embarrassing, exhausting, exhilarating, and hilarious (oh those bizarre positions and noises as we squeakily slide down the pole), and absolutely amazing that our bodies can do these things at all, ever. Thank you for keeping it real. Virtual hugs to everyone who gives it a try, and happy dancing with everyone who manages to learn something new!
Thank you 💜
Just found your channel and you give yourself so much grace and encouragement! It’s refreshing to hear and inspiring to do for myself! Pole is HARD no matter how long we’ve been doing it omg but you’re doing amazing! 🥹
Thank you for this sweet comment!!
