After battling Psoriasis for years, I discovered the power of quality food and its positive impact on my skin condition. This sparked my desire to raise my own quality food. So come along with our Family as we transition from urban living to small self sustaining family farm. Learn from both our successes and failures in hopes it may inspire others to try new things. We entered into this journey with no prior experience and hope to provide many laughs and learning experiences. We learned most of how to do what were doing from watching others and hope to be able to provide a similar learning opportunity to anyone else who may benefit from this. Thank you for coming along with us on this journey and we hope it is enjoyable for you and your family.

I did the same to my tomatoes recently & the top ends of them have taken off now. Nice, easy way to keep them healthier.

That’s great to hear. I’m glad it’s worked for you as well. It’s made a great improvement of my plants health since doing it

Good to know! I knew there was a way to prune tomatoes for better production, I just hadn't researched it yet. So bookmarking that for later...also, I met a nice family at our local farmer's market that raises Kune pigs and sells the meat! They are open to people coming to see the pigs and they breed them too. I am excited to learn from them and make some connections!....and eat more pork. That was the best shoulder roast and bratwurst I have ever had

That’s awesome they’re going to let you do that. That’s exactly what we did before committing to some. We visited a farm twice and soon after that I knew I wanted them. Helped to know who I was purchasing from better as well.

My pepper plants are struggling too. My tomatoes took off and now I need a better support system. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve heard a lot of people talk about pepper issues this year. Sounds like you have a good problem for your tomatos. Wishing you a great harvest this year

I've been harvesting cucumbers every other days for 2-3 weeks. Will probably have to give away some soon. Best time of the year. Next is the hot peppers and hopefully string beans.

It's so strange! I've heard so many KZreadrs and people in their comments mention having a problem with stunted plants also. I'm also struggling with stunted peppers. Planted TWO and a half months ago and they sprouted nicely. Barely grow since. I realized my ground is clay and compact so I spread a bunch of gypsum around and it did soften it up. So I took a trowel and dug in around the plants and just lifted the dirt up to try and loosen the soil for the roots to breathe. Piled on a heavy dose of blood meal, worm castings, and a microbial plant food and watered it in last night. I could be imagining it but I do feel like multiple of the pepper plants are finally growing a little bit. 🤞🤞 I should be harvesting right now, it's so crazy! Even crazier that none of the plants have died... They just don't want to grow.

That’s similar to ours. They looked super healthy but just won’t progress for anything. I have only 6 I ended up actually putting in ground and they’re nothing like I usually have. I guess patience is all I can try now.

My pepper plants did the same thing, they started out great and then petered off. We had some weird weather this year early spring was incredibly hot and then it got lower than normal. I had some watermelon, I started inside, that burnt to a crisp in the early spring heat. I'll have to make a cold frame for it If I want to try again, some thing I can open and close easily. Our weather is so crazy we can drop 10c and have hail and then an hour later be back up to normal. Not here but a few places about 30 min away had a freak snow fall in June :O We never dropped below freezing but it was close I was running around putting sticks and clear garden bags on every thing but the brassicas, garlic and onions, I put Polly plastic cover on the carrots become they had just come up. Good thing I had all these things handy lol "Northern Craziness" The baby pigs are looking great ;) I love seeing the adults also, How old is Mater ? He's turning into an Icon 🥰💛🐷💛

Wow, your a trooper for battling all that wild weather. I thought we had some odd weather this year but you have definitely claimed champ of that one. Mater is 4 now and he’s definitely a legend on our property. Even though he’s not been worth much in terms of piglet production, his personality is amazing and he’s to much of a pet now for us to process. He’ll most likely get to live his life out with us.
