To the safety thing, they also redesigned the "remote", so it's now much easier to reach the button and adjust weight etc. etc.

How often they make improvements in impressive.

Glad to see you back with an equipment review. Yes, please do a comparison to Tonal. Love my Tonal plus I personally like the sleek look compared to Speediance. Having said that, I think Speediance has some nice features that Tonal should consider.

does anyone know does the eccentric mode only work in the free lift mode

Prior to getting mine, I asked Speediance for how long they were offering their lifetime memberships. The reply was "Our membership is offered for free and permanent." Had they not had lifetime memberships, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

@@Learnwithtravis I absolutely love it. I used to dread working out. It was a chore. Now I have to pace myself so I don't get injuries. Even on a low energy day I enjoy it because I know the spotter has my back.

@@jakobrosenberg2008 hey jake, any issues so far? I've heard someone got fingers pinched when they tried to move the attachment points and didn't secure it carefully also heard about the cables getting stuck. have you experienced any of these?

@@j0404t I've had the stuck cable issue a few times. It's fixed by restarting the machine, so it's a non-issue. Never had injuries and tend to favor the handles, so I don't have to worry about dropping the barbell on my toes. I've had the machine lock on me a few times for safety reasons. For instance if you're using the barbell and your lift is too uneven it stops and tells you to keep it level. It also has a safety feature for eccentric movements which seems to be triggered by weight + speed. Eg. for low weight I never get warnings, but if I max the weight, it'll stop if I do the eccentric movement too fast. Presumably to avoid me crushing my toes under the barbell.

Looked at of these. Vitruvian won, hands down, because i travel all the time and nearly 450 lbs of resistance.

@@Learnwithtravis I enjoy it very much. Eventually they will put out a V-Frame to allow you to do pulldown movements, but with nearly 25 years of lifting experience, I can modify exercises to hit my entire back. The only thing that truly bothers me is that after my subscription expires, I would lose access to the weight tracking and classes. I usually build my own workouts, so the loss of training classes doesn't bother me, but my wife really likes them. I have documented progression in notebooks for a long time, so it remains to be seen how much I miss the app doing it for me. I know it is a deal breaker for some. Part of me wants to go ahead and spring for the lifetime membership ($1100) after expiration. I will make that decision in a few months. Sorry for the long drawn out post

Absolutely, but would probably need them to send it to me as I can’t afford to buy every product. Speediance is coming out with a comparable product and I believe they are sending me one so keep an eye out for that.

Are there any big limitations to using this in a space with low ceilings? Our basement is a little on the short side, but it's nice and cool. The garage is taller but - no AC! Decisions, decisions 😄😄

There are some situations where you can't do what they request (standing shoulder presses) but most I ran into I was able to modify as I have very low ceilings as well. I was able to sit on the bench and do the same exercise. So, big limitations... not really. Exercise modifications... here and there.

I tried the X3 bands. It might be worth a review and comparison.

I would ask them on that one. I have not tested it and don't want to. My guess is it has a safety feature to stop that, but I really don't know.

How tall are you? I'm 6'4" and wondering if the equipment is high enough to get the proper range of motion. Thanks for the video.

Waiting to get into UofM. They have me on a medication that helps. My diet also plays a big role in how I feel so trying to be very strict. Thank you for asking!

I heard they would eventually require a membership is that true? I'm ready to get this one if they won't make you pay a monthly fee

They were offering a lifetime free membership to early adopters but I am not sure if that is still in place. I believe they plan to charge 29 a month for the product but that is also optional and it still has a decent amount of functionality if you decide to not have the membership. I will see if I can have them remove my membership. I will try to create a video showing with and without membership.

May I ask what is your height? I'm quite tall guy (190cm/6.2ft) and I wonder does that limit the exercises I could do?

I am 6'3" and did not seem to have any limitations with the machine. But unfortunately, the room it is in has low ceilings. I am unable to do exercises that require me to reach high. Although, this is my room and not the Speediance.

I'm asking everyone I can find online with one of these. Is the Speediance Monster Gym stable enough with the foot platform folded that it can't be tipped over by a small child?
