I am not a gym person ( in the sense I do not like.....being out in public with the human race) for reasons. Honestly started looking into this to get my body at a much healthier place and do it in the privacy of my home. This is pretty cool

Yea I've been waiting on My Speede machine for almost a year, I'm thinking about requesting a refund and looking at something different. I came across this one

Having had home exercise equipment and finding the motivation to use it disappears very quickly I compared it to the price of my local Gym. For the same amount of money I could get over four years membership which includes a 140 station gym, a 6 lane fitness pool, a leisure pool, a steam room and a sauna. However, if you are very well self disiplined this could be great value for money compared to the competition.

its interesting to think how different people are, i not disiplined at all so if i did not have a home gym i would not train. if i need to get to the gym its much simpler for me to just drop it and stay at home. with a good home gym im able to train most excersises. gyms where i live are very expensive though and there is no gyms with pools etc where i live.

Completely agree with this. The average costs of a gym close to me is around $50-60 per person. With my wife wanting to work out as well we are now looking at $100+ every month. Given that you have to drive and make additional time to go to the gym, many days will get skipped just due to inconvenience. I find that I get my money’s worth more with home gyms vs in person. Not to mention you can workout freely without feeling the need to rush, or get properly dressed. I mean, I’ve rolled right out of bed in my boxers before and started working out. It’s all personal preference in the end though. I don’t think one is better than the other since we all have different needs and wants when it comes to training.

I think the biggest problem with a local gym is the fact that you have to SHARE the machine with others. It wouldn’t be an issue if you could just book the gym and then no one else could use it for that time, or have your own personal machines there that no one else can touch. But most gyms don’t work that way.

Customer service is horrible, only reachable by email - no phone number and spotty English. I ordered one, but requested a refund after seeing its taking 3+ months to get it

could you see someone using one of these in a home gym for personal training? Im looking for less bulky alternatives to a functional trainer for a small in home personal training. I dont have any serious lifters, just normal people looking to tone up and lose fat. thanks

Same here. I was thinking about mobile personal training directly to the clients address but it's almost 90kg, so it's not very convenient

It’s awesome man! I think it’s one of those machines where you have to try it to understand but the magnetic pully system is legit.

Do you know if we can still use it if the company shuts down? Theres lots of competition and the economy sucks, so I dont want buy and then they shutdown and I cant use the machine, thanks!

Can you use it without membership or any of that classes nonsense? I just want to do my routines that I know and track progress on the screen.

So, normally functional trainers are a 1:2 / 2:1 ratio, so 110 lbs would only feel like 55 lbs (which is why most have 2x 200 lbs), but is it more like 1:1 with this kind of digital weight?

I’ve been using it as my main source of weight lifting and it’s been fantastic. It’s not as polished as something like Tonal but they have been continuously updating it with new workouts and features. They’ve done a great job with fixing bugs that occasionally occur. The hardware is great and considering the price compared to the competition it’s excellent. I know you’re probably looking for other user feedback but completely stand by the Speediance. I still use Tempo for all of my fast pace HIIT style workouts. Especially since the Move is so cheap. The Speediance + Tempo Move is a great combo.

It would be really difficult to use it without being on the pad tbh. But, for safety reasons I would say yes you need to be on it when using it.

@@OT4Tech I have a Tonal at home & enjoy seeing how competitors try and innovate their way into the smart gym space. I’m surprised that this isn’t a much bigger call out in reviews for Speediance vs. Tonal. Seems incredibly limiting. Still exciting equipment, but this would be an automatic no go for me.

​@@lessthanzero1794yeah if you are doing exercises with the cables attached to the pad then yes you should be on the pad. They had sumo squat as a exercise option. Where your feet were place outside of the pad. But removed it for safety concerns. As using the machine at the top resistance levels would lift the pad and tip the machine up. Because the pad is locked in place. Otherwise I really like the machine.

​@@barakbalestrery4138 That seems it could be easily fixed with an extension attachment that widens the base that secures to the existing. Even a sturdy 2 x 4 might work if you overlook some safety 😅

Right now tonal is $5000 plus you have to pay $60 a month membership. Speediance is $2700 and is currently offering free lifetime membership until the end of the year. I think in 2024, the membership will be $30 a month. Those grandfathered in won’t have to pay a monthly fee. At least that’s what I heard.
