Justin's introduction of Sting is amazing.

My childhood hero Sting still gives me goosebumps when he makes an entrance just like he did 35 years ago. Kudos to Tony Kahn and AEW for letting the Icon Sting have a great run before he retires so he can go out on top like he deserves. Welcome home Stinger to Turner broadcasting where you belong at AEW. I love that the fans get to experience the Sting I loved as a child.

Man sting is an ICON for a reason. One of the biggest reasons why most of the current generation of wrestlers got into pro wrestling in the first place

I love how the legend takes on a protege and is able to put him where he needs to be. Just think 20 years from now, Darby will be at legend status.

Sting's theme is awesome!

Sting has always been one of my favourites and how he still goes is amazing.

I absolutely love the small, but effective touch here. When they were first put together, Sting came out second. Now Darby is, sending the message of how important/over he is. A nice sign of his growth.

Same here. I haven't been watching wrestling in nearly twenty years, but AEW is slowly getting me interested again. That difference in crowd pop really shows how the older gen wrestlers are really supporting the younger ones instead of trying to keep riding the glory train. Darby is talented for sure, it's really nice seeing his generation getting great support!

@Darael Evans I don't know if you know why Darby paints his face so here's the reason; when Darby was five years old his uncle was drinking all day and took him in the car and had an accident. His uncle died and Darby says he felt like half of him died that day.

Props to Justin Roberts but still I think would be great if Tony Schiavone was Sting's personnel ring announcer! Tony Schiavone's "IT'S STIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING" sounds about right#

It's really great to see a team-up like this, with a legend in the business, and an extremely young talent together so seamlessly. Only good comes of that type of synergy and mentoring. Curious...when Sting was a really young up-and-coming wrestler, did he have any sort of pairings like this, with an equally as iconic legend of his time? Also, I don't know how common of wish-list items these are, but as a new AEW fan, I'd love to see two things...1) Sting have even ONE last night as his "surfer" gimmick/motif. He may not have the physical energy for it like he used to, but it fits more with his desire to get a mic once in a while and be more vocal. 2) Darby reaching a similar level of prominence, after having learned from Sting. He wouldn't have to emulate Sting, he could totally grow creatively in his own way. But for Darby to ascend to that level would be spectacular. Obviously it'd take time, nothing happens overnight. He's doing great so far, though. Excellent wrestling programming all around. AEW is where it's at.

Sting is my favorite wrestler of all time and it’s so refreshing to see him get the love and appreciation he deserves. I also love how he’s taken Darby under his wing but also manages to let him have his spotlight as well without overshadowing him.

I still remember marking out when Sting debuted. I only wish all the fans were there it would’ve been a CM Punk level pop or at least close to it

It seems there's nothing left to do but post the audience reactions for the videos for Dynamite. I say do it. I was there live and that crowd was electric from the beginning to the end. Yes that evening included the dark matches

I watched it live and I watched it again just now. Both times I got goosebumps for the reaction Sting gets. AEW and AEW fans know how to treat legends and also respect all they've done. I'm so happy for Sting and I have to believe he's happy after how it all seemed to end elsewhere.

That snow effect is still so cool. I like the big reaction Darby got, this match had a big fight feel like everything on this show, and like a lot of these matches, it wasn't for a title, it was just for respect, and having that sort of thing mean something is awesome.

Grand Slam was the very first wrestling event I ever attended did after being a hardcore fan for almost 20 years. And though I may be new to the live show atmosphere, I feel so honored to have watched STING fucking perform. The pops were rivaling the Omega vs Danielson match and it was all for THE ICON. 62 and STILL kicking ass 💯

I remember I was maybe 3 or 4, my cousin snuck me into his room to watch my first ever wrestling episode and the memory I remembered that locked me in, was seeing Sting come down from the rafters. It all started with Sting

Sting getting the acknowledge he deserves. A Legend! The only true Legend still wrestling - considering his bad his neck injury was; he’s back wrestling and with guys who won’t risk further injury to his back or neck! Shows how much faith he has in these guys! He obviously believes he is “safe” wrestling here. The key rule in wrestling has always been “protect the neck” in other words they wrestle hard but don’t risk crippling their opponent for life! (We’ve seen matches where a guy has taken a bad bump and they finish the match as fast as they can so that the guy gets the medical attention he needs as quick as possible - that’s how it should be!)

Amazing.
