Thanks for another adorable reaction. Someone may have already said this in the comments but this is a song originally by a guy named Vitas, well known in China and Russia. Dimash went 2 half steps higher than Vitas...and word is they banned Dimash from doing it anymore. By taking their ball and limping home, do they realize that that is them admitting that Dimash is king of the vocals?! Victory for Dimash, lose for Vitas.

@@AndreaSilvestro, the only other performer I've ever seen who controlled and "conducted" his band was Elvis Presley. And he would often improvise whimsically on the spot, so they really had to watch his cues closely.

The man doing the air fist at the end of the song is his father, Kanat, showing great pride for his son. During this sing off, "I am Singer" staff made all of the decisions concerning his attire for his on stage performances. He said in an interview that they are not what he would have worn, but he did not go there to be a fashion statement but to show them his singing skills. Some of the outfits were too short for him as he is much taller than the Chinese, being over 6'3" tall. It is funny to see him in Asian airports because he is well over a head taller than most Chinese.

Dimash and his personal friend (a music classmate) do the arrangements for all his performances. Best reaction video yet ! Dimash was homesick before this performance, he had been alone in China for several weeks. His father flew in as a surprise, Dimash was unaware. If you watch to the end of the video you will see their reunion. Dimash stated that if he had known his father was in the audience he wouldn't have been so 'cheeky'.

If you'd watched till the very end you would have seen Dimash's shock at seeing his extremely proud dad in in the audience and their interaction afterwards - very cool!!!!!! His dad didn't want Dimash to see him during the performance in case he affected it.❤️

@@AndreaSilvestro there is a full version with English subtitles. I love the playful and flirty style behind this one. Unfortunately, Dimash doesn’t sing too many of Vitas’ songs. If you read enough rumours, Vitas may have a certain element of jealousy... or Dimash didn’t want people to criticize Vitas and stopped singing Vitas’ music. Admittedly, Dimash has a history of being very respectful... so, hard to say. Love the audience reaction for this one too. In fairness, you should hear Vitas’ version as well. :)

@@cynthiabruce-marzenska5024 I went and checked out Vitas for this song....it was...ok. A thin, piercing voice and for me a singer, not pleasant to hear the reach for the higher thinner pitches. I had understood that not necessarily Vitas, himself, but his managers were the ones to stink about it, but of course.....Dimash....gentleman that he is....:). Dimash's rich highs just fill your headspace with satisfaction of perfect pitches....until Dimash, I never realized how physically satisfying perfect pitches can be ('Pitch Perfect only touched the surface of the phenomena). :)

A bit of back story for you. This was his second performance of I am a singer and Dimash was very homesick. What he didn't realize is the show had flown in his dad to surprise him. You can see him in the audience. There is a video of him when he notices his dad, you can see the look on his face. He tells his dad afterwards that "he wants to go home" but his dad tells him to stay and he also asks his dad "how did I sing? Did I sing good?"

My god!!!!....that's exactly how we should react to Dimash's..... Should people know what it really meant and what do really has Dimash done to us,if it is 200 years ago era,people will be walking thru towns and desert,to get to listen to Dimash's voice,for if it is the past era's,only selected elits or the chosen minority powerful rich people that get this beautiful chances.... How fortunate for us for God have shown mercy upon us,thru HIS knowlegde and love to us,the world gets modern and technology have make it most impossible in those days....possible.. We get to witness and hear,a little share of heavenly voice,right here on earth.... Love your reaction and reviews . Spot On...

Dimash MTV - 1!

That older gentleman with the red lanyard around his neck is Dimash's father. The song was written by a Russian singer named Vitas. Very soon after this performance aired Vitas got an injunction barring Dimash from singing this in public, ever. The reason Vitas did this becomes apparent very quickly. Sean you are correct about that, do one thing all at the same time thing.****ADHD Alert*** There is a group of 4 sisters from the Philippines called the 4th Impact. They sang their audition on Britain's X-factor 2015. They were good but they weren't perfect. They were singing a Jessie J song, 'Bang, Bang' and while it was going well I'm not sure they would have made it, except for the part of the song that goes, ' show me what your Mama gave' that one to two seconds they were what God intended them to be and it was spectacular. I am convinced in fact there was a group of watching that audition that night and I said, "that harmony right there got them on the show". But I wanted to build on Sean's theory. I'm surprised I didn't go off in several directions, it can happen. Back to Dimash. In case you hadn't noticed, Dimash is a huge M.J. fan. The three modulations that Dimash did was two more than what Vitis was able to do. So he got an injunction. The reason Dimash hit those three staccato notes because he had been accused of lip-syncing this song especially. Dimash didn't know his father had made the show he said later, 'had I known my father had made the show, I wouldn't have shown off so much.' Well I've taught you everything I know, and you still don't know anything!! Thanks for the reaction.

I think people forget The Singer wasn't Dimash's personal concert, though it feels like it sometimes. Its a very high calibre competition. Contestants participating in The Singer do their own arrangements. It is part of the score they receive from their judges, the 500 member audience - who are musically proficient themselves - musicians, singers, composers, producers, etc., The contestants are well established artists of the region, Dimash was the exception in this season being the youngest and having been invited as a wildcard. No one was familiar with his work in China then. The fabulously professional musicians/band/orchestra are mostly Chinese with a mix of a few foreign musicians. Being such a high calibre competition you gotta bring your 'A' game and show what you can do vocally, stage presence and performance, musical arrangements, and get your judges up on their feet, in order to move forward in the competition or be eliminated and replaced by a new artist. As competitions go Contestants are encouraged to sing in another language, show different facets of their skills i.e. do they play an instrument/s, sing an original, perform with another artist. All this is scored. Dimash cleverly gave tid-bits of his musicianship, vocal genius, including a traditional Kazakh folk song and amazed with each performance. And the pillow is awesome!

Guys, if you are going to do more reaxtions to "Im a Singer" show, you will soon notice that the band for the show is top of the top.

I just love your interaction. You should watch ‘till the end and see Dimash’s reaction as he recognizes his father in the audience. Their reunion is precious as Dimash (who stands 6’3”) hugs and lifts his much shorter Dad, Kanat, while they embrace. Dimash’s father, flew from Kazakhstan unbeknownst to his son. After the performance, Dimash asks Kanat how he did and having been away from his family, poignantly whispers, “I want to go home.”

Dimash "Know" New wave performance another number to be amazed...

He is crazily good, isn’t he? Those are mix chest voice, not head voice. My fav too! He even went two notes higher than the original (by Vitas). I actually prefer this version.

My favorite is his cover of Adagio from the 2017 Singer competition. It is by Lara Fabian, who is one of Dimashs idols. She liked his cover so much she started collaborating with him. By the way her version is also beautiful and haunting. Keep up the good work👍
