Musician reacts to SNARKY PUPPY Outlier

Музыка

This Snarky Puppy reaction is genuinely my first time ever hearing their song.

6:56 Summary
When I do my reaction videos I don't press pause because I don't want to interrupt the natural flow of the music as it was originally intended by the artist. I try to vocalise my thoughts in real time as I listen to the song, and then summarise my reaction afterwards.
You can checkout the artist's original track without my commentary here: • Snarky Puppy - Outlier...

Nate Werth is the percussionist. He works EXTREMELY well with ALL of Snarky Puppy's drummers... usually 4 or 5 on rotation. Nate is a REALLY talented musician who is one of the best I have seen at complimenting whomever is sitting on the traps. And yes; that solo by Bob Reynolds was both technically difficult AND entertaining. Thanks for the review and reaction!

Their best piece of music, according to me, is “the curtain” performed with Metropole Orkest. Don’t miss out!

Great reaction as always. Now you should check out The Curtain. The drummer on the curtain is their drummer before Larnell Robert Sput Searight. He's the musical director and keyboardist for the Zildjian Live Band.

Sput was their drummer the 1st time I saw them, and he is a great drummer too. Definitely no slouch.

If you'd like to add vocals to your Snarky Puppy journey, check out Snarky Puppy featuring Lalah Hathaway. It's a mind-blowing session! kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yod-q8mNfMiWmMY.html

I've been waiting for this one! I had a feeling it'd be your favorite. Bob Reynolds' sax is a heavenly thing, indeed. Check out a live David Ryan Harris track from Hotel Cafe with Bob on sax. Also Isaiah Sharky and John Mayer on guitars. I forget the keyboard player, but he crushes as well. Phenomenal listening experience.

I wonder how many people know this was written by Justin Stanton (striped shirt). He's written two songs with solos for Bob (Bad Kids To The Back). When I first started watching SP videos I would play Who's Justin This Time because he looks different in every one.

oo the cyan tingle! As always, love what your knowledge brings to the song :-) I think you're definitely going to enjoy Sleeper and Shofukan, as they are more together as songs, less pulled about, but both with an amazing centre-piece filled with emotion.

I think Shofukan might be right up your alley. It is not one of the most insanely busy tracks, it has some of those strings you have been wanting to see, and the line at the end is absolutely masterful. Would love to see it on the channel!

Nice reaction and analysis... And... there's kne 'f' too much in your video title 😉... anyway don't you want to 'taste' something from snarkys new album? Like Trinity... or ... Whatever - a lot of good material there from the music wizards... Keep rockin'!

Thanks for noticing that! Title now updated. Can't believe I missed that 😅 Trinity is on my to-do list. Problem is: their songs are so long and my time is so limited due to full time "proper job" and family that it's really hard to carve out that kind of time for their songs. I will definitely get to it though. Thanks for your patience!

Gotta love Snarky. I only found them a few years ago. Such a shame. Another band I only found a few years ago is Thank You Scientist. If you haven't heard them, highly recommend checking them out. I'm always torn what to suggest. A lot of people start with live session for FXMLDR kzread.info/dash/bejne/pKym3JiLgLbdp5M.html But so many good songs
