It's sad in a way that the Green Day crowd has finally got old. They've always been able to attract a younger audience than most bands their age. There was a few and some.with their parents but its now definitely on the whole 40 plus

That pretty much sums up the night I had last Saturday. I don't think Green Day will top that ever. What a moment it was. Great review.

I was there. It was my 6th Green Day show too, 19 years since my first at Milton Keynes. It was an incredible night. You're right that they do a lot of the same stuff at their shows, but honestly I don't care- I'm just happy to be there in their presence, and in that energy. I promised myself when I saw them that first time that I would see them at least once for each new tour. Though I would LOVE to see them at a secret/ intimate gig.

I was at this show. Was an amazing experience! Where I was sat i'm 26 and was definitely tired at the end. Managed to get to my hotel in like an hour, which wasn't bad. Was a family at the same hotel we saw in the morning with kids that didn't get back till 1. Also had some kids near us as well. Crazy to see how they still get the new generation.

clearly an incredible amount of practice goes into this type of playing. I just can't fully embrace it though as its really just the triggers doing all the work. Eloy is the anti trigger and I love it.

I was there too, agree with pretty much everything you said. Especially about the click, you could tell they weren't playing to a click and it was great to have that live rawness. Dookie also comes from an era when albums sounded more raw and had a lot less production and polish so for them to replicate that feel live really worked. Also as a guy in my mid-30s, I can totally relate to the slog of standing there for almost 3 hours lol, could barely walk afterwards. It was great fun though and the whole show flew by.

i’ve always known green day was a fantastic live band, but people don’t realize how great they actually are even in their 50s. so many bands are washed up, but green day still got it & got better with time. such a class act

back in the mid 90s, green day would leave the stage, typically after basket case or paper lanterns, & tre cool would play all by myself alone with an electric guitar. then all the boys would come back to play dominated love slave from kerplunk, which also has tre cool singing & billie joe on drums there’s plenty of 90s footage of them on youtube & they’re all great

Green Day announced this tour with the playing of DOOKIE and AMERICAN IDIOT in its entirety. They are the first to play two full albums entirely, and I’m so upset I did not catch them in the US, but yeah this is MONUMENTAL 🔥🤘🏻 Dookie for me is an insane album, a pivotal point in my life and my music pedigree, super happy you got to see that entirely played. I have seen Green Day 12 times since 1998 and I’ve heard all the songs from both albums 😊 Really happy you went Steve and so happy to know you are a big fan and had “the time of your life” ❤️

I think they announced it a bit after the tour announcement. I remember saying to my partner when it got announced; "it wouldn't surprise me if they play American Idiot and Dookie in full with the milestones" then a few weeks later they announced it. So glad I got to see this show.

I haven’t been to festivals for years but why are your legs always so tired… it’s a special weekend… we used to eat, drink, sleep standing up… most of the time off the ground during great sets… tired legs? That’s a bit odd for a festival goer… must be a younger gen thing

Are all the musicians “they” at download. Haha, I’m not sure why I noticed this. There are lots of good reasonable uses of the word they outside of woke culture but you seemed to use it rather a lot for collections and individuals. On another thought do you think someone who identifies as he or she might find it irritating if someone always refers to them as they for fear of misgendering… just because it never came up… which it often doesn’t… coz it’s not all that important…
