This is the best Snarky Puppy reaction video that I’ve seen, and there are a lot of good ones out there. Your ability to convey ideas verbally is excellent, and your appreciation of Snarky Puppy contains the reverence that they deserve. Even as a conservative Christian I can relate to the poetry of your profanity.

The Problem I have with Snarky Puppy is, that my father took the music to me approximately 8 years ago so that I grew up with it. That means it seems normal to me - Now I am 18. I like Jazz a lot and I really love Snarky Puppy and they are the group i use to listen to the most. It is like you say - they are very unpredictable. But for me it seems almost as normal music 🥲😂. Therefore i really like when someone reacts to them with the same confusion i would have If i would listen to them the first time nowadays

i was right there with ya brotha 😂 listened to quite a few from them but hadnt heard this one before and it really is a rollercoaster when you hear one of their songs for the first time

If you appreciate the level of Skill and Musical Composition by Snarky Puppy, then you haven't truly lived as a musician until you've seen 'The Way Up Live' by Pat Metheny Group, which earned them their 10th Grammy Award® and Metheny personally his 17th. I love this band so much. Also watching reactions to their videos...everyone is blown away and you can tell when someone really appreciates it. First time I heard outlier it Brough tears to my eyes. I had to listen to it 5 times

I think you're saying Darnell in reference to the drummer. Dude's name is Larnell (Lewis) =) I love how he listens to the soloists and responds to them. Also, he is amazing, no doubt about it, but you've also got to give credit to the two percussionists, too. They add a whole other layer.

Yeah I completely messed that up lol. The percussionists are amazing in their own right too, it's just that there's always so much going on that it's hard to catch everything, especially since Larnell plays like a madman, sometimes I find it hard to distinguish between who's playing what lol

I'm seeing them live here in Florida on Feb 13th at their GroundUP Music Festival!

You should see them live. You never know what is going to happen. I’ve read that ever member of the collective has to learn every part. Solos could be any person, any instrument decided by a simple nod of the head. They generally do not us playlists when performing live. In the middle of a song they can go off on a tangent. You can purchase live concerts on their site. Just unbelievable. I have an older iPod. It is full of nothing but SP live concerts. Nothing is ever the same.

Wow that's crazy. I saw one of their documentaries & it was dope seeing how their personalities come together to make this group. Had no idea every member has to learn every part though! That's some serious dedication and hard work. If I can ever catch them live, I would do it in a heartbeat

yep, but to make it simpler for my brain to process, I subdivide that section into repeating measures of 6/4, 5/4, 4/4
