The most emotional tune of that live session. I heard that it was composed by one of the trumpet players. The screams of the talkbox give me shivers every time.

Wow... I've heard this song at least fifty times at this point, and for some reason, all of a sudden, _this time_ it just had me in tatters and tears.

I’ve been an SP addict for years. Perhaps what seems interesting to me now is their arrangements and how they integrate melody and rhythm.

💜You're a vibsey organism💜 Also this is my pick from snarky puppy when people say jazz jamband has less emotionality than any particular genre lmao😂🔥

This is my favorite song. Shawn conveys so much emotion through this interface (instrument), but I also love the structure, the breakdown in the middle and then the expanse of those chords when the band rejoins. I love larnell anjoying that expanse, I love the camera work picking out moments especially larnell quieting the cymbals at the end and sitting back knowing how good that was. I believe they recorded 4 sessions, I think they performed the whole album each evening, then chose which version to have on the album/released videos. I'd love to know which day this was for larnell as the day he flew in was the day of the first evening session. Did you spot that the Rhodes player that started this and Lingus was also the horn soloist in Shofukan ?

You're right, they just did their new album in Dallas the same way. They shot for six days. One of my friends with lucky enough to be in the audience. Says it was the best 200 bucks he ever spent.

Here's something for you...not to react...Sleeper is so big for them it's usually the last song of the set. Check out how they do it in concert now: Oh and for context, when they performed Sleeper at the Royal Albert Hall, during Shaun's talkbox break, someone yelled out "Take your Time Shaun!" It's now an inside joke, so you'll see how he plays to it. Enjoy! kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaKV19GgfNnFd7w.html
