Yes, they are very, very German lol. Please watch their live song for Rammlied at Madison Square Garden so they can not only teach you how to properly say their name but it's also another mindblowing performance of hundreds they do. I can honestly say they are the best metal band the world has ever or will ever know not only for their music but their lyrics, their live performances and their music videos. On top of that they are super good looking (sorry, it's true lol) and are nice guys in real life. Their back story is incredible (born behind the Berlin wall etc). I could write a book but I'll just say, welcome to the club of R+!! You are in for a wild ride!

They are indeed very german! I can highly recommend taking a look at the song "Deutschland", it's an entire minifilm about german history (should have english subtitles as well if I remember correctly so you'd know what they are singing, as the vocal part is in german).

As a music teacher, you should have heard of Rammstein before. Rammstein is one of the most famous metal bands and are living legends with the same line-up for nearly 30 years. They are a german band and are considered the best live band in the world, especially when it comes to showmenship, pyro and fire. Above all, Rammstein uses pyro quite differently than all other bands. Their light show is also out of this world. Kiss compared to Rammstein are poor prescholars. Rammstein's music is a mixture of techno (electronic music) and metal (= industrial metal), although Rammsteins origins are in punk music. Rammstein concerts are a life time experience that you will never forget and Rammstein concerts are also the greatest rock/metal shows on on the road in these days. Their Stadiums concerts are sold out in minutes all over the world. To transport their eqipment they need 5 Boing 747 and 70 trucks. The stage needs 7 day to build with 400 men. Therfore they have two stages on tour. The videos of Rammstein are art but also often controversial. They put a lot of effort, art and money in their videos. The video "Germany" alone cost 6 million dollars Rammstein often refers to classical German literature, e.g. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's. Several of their songs are related to controversial and taboo subjects such as sadomasochism, homosexuality, intersexuality, incest, pedophilia, necrophilia, cannibalism, pyromania, religion and sexual violence. Also several of their songs are allegedly inspired by real-life events or politics. Rammstein lyrics are very deep and are also often used in school and universities around the world to learn German. There are people who learn German only because of Rammstein. Rammstein fans are considered to be the craziest and most fanatical fans in the world. In concerts from the hardcore fans all over the world it is expected that you can sing along with the German lyrics even if you don't speak German.

Great reaction! I'd recommend if you do any more of their catalogue that you take a look at the English translation of their lyrics so you get an understanding what they singing are about. Till (the lead singer) is a certified pyrotechnician which is why they are allowed to do a lot of the special effects you see at their shows. Enjoy if you do go down this rabbit hole, Rammstein are very unique!

I'm not familiar with their music but I do know that the main part of this song has some wordplay built in. "Du hast mich gefragt" = "you have asked me" "Du hast mich" = " you have _____ me," which doesn't stand on its own but sounds like "Du hasst (haßt) mich" = "you hate me."

Power songs like 'Du hast' are for example 'Rammlied' (live Madison Garden) or 'Ich will' (live Hurricane Festival) or 'Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen' (live Paris). Other geeat songs which show the whole spectrum are the official Videos 'Zeit', 'Adieu', 'Angst', 'ohne dich', 'Deutschland', 'mein Herz brennt, Piano version' , 'Seemann' or the live Videos 'du riechst so gut ', 'Klavier', 'Mutter', 'Sonne'. All of them will let you think and say one word: wow ...

Yes, they are German- they grew up in east Berlin when it was strictly seperated from western Germany by the wall during the "DDR" years. Meanwhile they are world famous and beloved worldwide (no wonder !) Flake, the keyboardist, likes to walk on his treadmill cause it bores him to stand around and doing nothing else then just hitting his keys, he said once. Rammstein have probably the greatest diversity of opinion on what are the best videos to watch of any band out there. Personally, I would not have recommended this one. Even for this song, there are better videos. The one here is very old and was not very well done. They have significantly improved their live shows in the past few years, including for this number. Most people probably would have recommended the "Deutschland" video from 3 years ago, which currently sits at 299 million views -- we're just waiting for it to break that 300 any day now. Maybe try doing it next?

So: 1) Rammstein is not only "great" but ultimate phenomenal! "High-end" as far as live performances are concerned! 2) Yes, RAMMMS+EIN is a German band and sings almost almost exclusively German You don't seem to have heard much of Rammstein. But they perform in Madison square garden, are friends with other greats like Marilyn Manson ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/gmSOsaSNhdCZmrw.html ) or Korn and also Metallica played and sang the song "Engel" by Rammstein at a concert of theirs (even if it sounded lous: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKKJyJKbpra0orQ.html ) Their song "Feuer frei!" also appeared on the soundtrack of the action movie xXx - Triple X by Rob Cohen and actor Vin Diesel, released in 2002, If you want to see it that way, Rammstein is indirectly in competition with Slipknot, even though they play a completely different genre. Slipknot has stolen some elements from Rammstein's live performance and brought them into their own concerts. For example, the thing with the treadmill of the keyboard player, which Rammstein used much earlier at gigs. The only time so for you, so that you have even a small idea of what size and what caliber you react here at all! You have no idea ... !

  • @arnonyhm4055

Nice reaction. 😃👍 Do you what to see more videos from Rammstein? I have a few suggestions. If you want to see more of their (incredible) live performances I would suggest (in this sequence) Rammlied (live from Madison Square Garden) Engel (live from Madison Square Garden) Sonne (live at Rock im Park 2017) Links 2 3 4 (live from Madison Square Garden) Ich will (live from Hurricane Festival 2016) Ich tu dir weh (live from Madison Square Garden) (don't take the lyrics too serious) Amazing official videos Sonne (Sun) heavy, screwed up fairy-tale Links 2 3 4 (left) partly heavy march Ich will (I want) heavy, simple, way to celebrity Spring! (Jump!) (animated version with english subtitles) slow, partly heavy, very dark sarcasm! Radio (Radio) catchy song (with serious background) Newest official videos from their last album "Zeit" in sequence of the tracks on the album: Zeit (Time) slow, dark, melancholic, emotional Zick Zack (Snip Snap) catchy song, sarcastic, funny Angst (Fear) very Rammstein, scary, credits at the end are helpful to understand the message Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) heavy (most of the time), catchy, funny, credits are funny too (my view) Adieu (Goodbye) dark, sometimes heavy, emotional Last but not least the great (but not nice) video "Deutschland" which has a lot of references to (mostly unpleasent) parts of German history. Video, lyrics, and sound are great (my view) and work very well together. For many of Rammstein's videos there are English subtitles available. To find a lot of them, you may search on KZread for: "educated marine rammstein" + songname For live videos of Rammstein songs, www.youtube.com/@Bucksttabu/playlists is a good source. In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of "Du hast".) I wish you to enjoy your Rammstein journey.

Try this: Rammstein (lit. ramming stone) = RUM-SHTINE (think of Einstein)

right, they are German; East German, more precisely, this gives some idea of how long they have been on the scene.

If you are going down current German rabbit hole (no Scorpions then) have to do 'Electric Callboy' next. They are Rammstein but mixed with the best EDM DJ and pop boy band pop. Imagine in Rammstein, NYSYNC, and Daft Punk had a threesome... the result would be Electric Callboy. Start with Hypa Hypa, We Got The Moves, Pump It, or Spaceman. Simply addicting band.

Sorry, hope not minded as a kind suggestion, Would be good you research a bit on a band before commenting, minimally, country, how to pronounciate its name. btw! This was not just "funny", but a great stage performance and music

Ramm - like rum, the drink , s - like sh in shit , t -normal , ei - like eye , n - normal. Try it part by part, then as a word, then listen to Rammlied. But be warned, it's a very deep rabbit hole, no escape. For future reactions, DO look up the translation of the lyrics first, they are very important, not one band covers such themes, from eco disasters through sex turism,....., child prostitution to incest. By the way, I'm 72 and going for the first time to their concert in Padova this year. Hope to survive the "Feuerzone" (look it up). Wish me luck.

Another way to learn how to say rammstein correctly would be google translate, simply enter rammstein switch to german and press the play the sound button. There pronunciation is spot on.
