If you want to support:
The fact that you are watching the videos and care about the music and future of Wintergatan is the best support anyone can have, I want to thank everyone who is here for that kind of support, it is really the fuel for the Wintergatan Engine.

Why do we accept support in this way?
I, Martin, can already sustain myself 100% doing what I love to do. If you want to support artists/organisations who have not yet reached that privileged position, please consider supporting other artists/organisations who need the support more. With that said, I have too many ideas and too little time and with your support I can get more help from people around me to execute the ideas better and bring them out in the world faster.

Thanks to www.CNCRouterparts.com and www.Matterhackers.com for providing the CNC Machine and the 3D Printer for the Marble Machine X Project!
All income will be used to build the Marble Machine 2.0, a full sized but transportable Marble Machine that we can tour with! I am going to build it in seven modular horcrux parts, every part has its own case. When we are playing we will arrive the day before the show to assemble it. And we should bring the Music Box as well and synch the two machines up in a plywood duet... just have to succeed with the MM2.0 build first... wish us luck and take care, all the best// Martin & Wintergatan
Ps. I have named this instrument "The Modulin" because i see it as a mix of a MODular syntheseiser and a vioLIN - MODULIN. We will film more videos to explain how it works. I am also building a version 2.0 of this Modulin for stability, it is very cobbled together at this stage and it has broken down on us on stage several times...

I don’t think there’s a word for the emotion that this makes me feel... It’s like, when you’re standing in a place with lots of memories. They make you smile, but you can’t spend long here without needing to cry because you know that it won’t be the same. Not quite nostalgia, not quite melancholy, not both but not neither.

I’m writing this in the lobby of the hospital as my mother is in a critical condition. Since the diagnosis I never cried about what might happen. I also did not play this song because I knew what kind of emotions it would stir and I did not want to break in front of her. But tonight, as I lay here in the lobby chair with a bottle of water, a blanket, and a prayer, I listened knowing it might be the last time I could cry freely. Thank your Marten.

I like to imagine that he is hiding away in deep caverns after an apocalyptic war. He broadcasts messages and songs across the wasteland using equipment and instruments he assembled by hand, all in the name of spreading a message of hope across the wastes. Here he tells us: 'all is well'.

The paper tape is the most melancholy thing I’ve ever seen. The nostalgia of the music box, and the slow, but all too quickly exhaustion of the finite tape. Seems a perfect analog for life. Simple, beautiful, seems to unwind so slowly and then it’s over. Of course you had to wait for the paper to run out and fall. Well done. Thank you!
You have built some of the most amazing and unique pieces of musical creation I have ever seen. The methods with which you think to create music, and the endless love you so apparently put into not only your music but also your instruments is inspiring. This is one of my favorite pieces of all time, and it is played by only two instruments. Martin, you have created such a hauntingly beautiful composition that I will love until the end of my days, and I know that I am not alone. You have inspired me to make my own projects and follow my own dreams in creating things, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Some of Brian Wilson's stuff (I Just Wasn't Made for These Times, Good Vibrations) might have a shot at it but otherwise yeah nothing else comes close
Ok. I have so many thoughts. 1. where even are you, you look like you're in the bat cave. 2. How the hell do you think of and then execute the making of all these different instruments? 3. Where can I buy merch because I am ALL IN. 4. Do you ever play live anywhere? I imagine it would be hard to tour with all this machinery but it would be so magical. 5. You seriously should collab with some other youtubers to make a short film. You score it, and then someone like madeyewlook does some beautiful sfx makeup, someone else can do costuming, writing, directing, acting. it would be a damn masterpiece and I would pay a lot of money to see it. Like, I already have this whole concept in my head of what that would be and it's AMAZING! 6. Why are you so talented? 7. Who the hell do you think you are, making me feel all the feels? I'm sure more will crop up, but I'm honestly just making that film in my head right now and it's honestly so beautiful.

Genius of the universe! Brings me to tears. Beautiful work and music.
The fact that this two instrument are fully electronic and yet still capable to have such a emotional voice and express it like this ,is truly amusing.I’m not trying to say electronic instruments aren’t capable of doing so but I mean you guys literally invented these and beyond the scientific side of the matter you guys also managed to give these “machines” a soul.A soul that turns “machines” into instruments, “voices” into music and this “scientific invention” into art.Thank you guys for this amazing experience and this amazing work.

Martin, I think you are a genius. I grew up loving music of all kinds. And inventors, too. I cannot begin to fathom the level of imagination, ability and talents you are in possession of, but I recognize how important and rare a person you are in modern society. Tesla, Edison, Franklin, even Mozart -- you belong in their sphere to me. Your music and your inventions bring me such joy. Thank you. I wish you all the success in the world. You deserve it and more. Peace and love to you, sir. 💝💐👏🏻✨✨✨
I always come back for this song, so much beauty and sadness melding into such a wonderful pairing of instruments.
Listening to the music made me close my eyes... and they welled with tears. So lovely ❤
I don't understand why so many folk have disliked this... If it's not your thing, move on...or better still, stay for a while and learn to appreciate genius when you see/hear it. We need more creativity like this in our messed up world.

The modulin is the most beautiful instrument that I have heard, I cry for a world that is far beyond my purview. I cry for a family that is never to be. I cry for the pain that I caused. The universe has damned me to be alone in a universe full of love.
Aw, shit, he did it again.
I have this warm feeling inside me that I can't get rid of and I don't want to. It makes me feel like I've gone back to the days where I looked foward to the next day. It feels good to be feeling this, but I know I'll have to snap back to reality soon.

Sounds so pretty and sad but comforting at the same time

OH MY GODDD!!!! It’s so BEAUTIFUL!!!! My soul is crying with happiness! THANK YOU!!!! Thank you! Thank you!!! 😭😭😭

Martin is such a AMAZING guy :) A now he made this amazing song that alway make me want to cry (the 20th time I heard this song)
(Turn on captions and start video) this man is the most heartwarming person I’ve ever seen.
I found this years ago before I ever heard of the Marble Machine and I still find myself coming back to rewatch it over and over again, it's truly a mesmerizing piece of art
The genius it took to think of this music instrument and yet this world is going to hell in a hand basket. Why can't we all just live in peace?

As a Violin/Fiddler of 23 years, since I was six, This, Is, AMAZING! I wish I could play that instrument you made. Ultimately amazing! Just Amazing.... You made my heart bleed babe.
I used to play this music for my twin children when they had trouble sleeping when they were babies. They are 11 years old now and they found and listened to it from the list of videos I liked on youtube, they say, Dad, we like this music very much, it gives peace. Now this music means more to me than before.
Эти невероятные инструменты и музыка инопланетные, очень красиво.
Sir, you are a Truly Eccentric Musical Maestro and Engineer - in my eyes that is a badge of the highest honour. Wonderful music.
I'm a 40 year old, very manly man. The 'Marble machine' made me cry in public when I first heard it. And now, listening to this song, I did it again. You are just amazing. I have never come across a musician of your talent before. Please don't ever stop making music, this world needs people like you. Especially in times like these. Thank you.
This song is beautiful and very calm, sometimes it makes me cry because of how cute it is
I can't believe this came out four years ago...I really need more modulin in my life
Nobody must be apart of the era of a music box? He’s a genius for taking the idea of a music box and blowing it up like this! Hats off to this man for exploding and reinventing the music box nobody has ever seen before ❤️❤️

Just incredibly beautiful. I am speechless. To the artist, musician, thankyou.
Once upon a time, before he moved to France, Martin worked from an actual cave.
When your soul and mind get ripped from your body and come together for just a moment of clarity reminding you that the world has so much to offer....remind you that your life matters. (All is well) thank you sir.
Завораживает!!!Гениальный музыкант!!!
It's been years now I'm here again....this bring back the comfort that I carve before.....being comfort by this song while I'm depressed before now..I'm good...this is the part of my life that make me a life Right now
When you see the Music Box about to let go of the last bit of the programable music sheet, similar to when you see the timer on a song close the end, it feels like when you're about to say goodbye to someone dear to you, or when you know it's getting late and that you will have to part ways very soon. It's a feeling of emptiness before it even ends, you are fully aware that your time is up, so you start to look at everything more closely, as if that would make the moment last longer... This song, means very much to me now, and I hope it will continue doing so in the future. When I look back to this, I want to think: "All Was Well"...
This sounds like it'd be a amazing sound track to a game
