I could listen to Murray talk about his experience in F1 for hours and hours. A man that is responsible for millions of people's love of Formula 1 (including my own) and a true role model for those who want to share their own passion of the sport.

Remarkable fact : Kimi is the only current driver on the grid that Murray did TV commentary on . He did partial commentary of Alonso's and Raikkonen's rookie season and his last TV commentary before retirement was Mika Hakkinen's last win. He did also of course commentate on Max's dad. Where has all that time gone.

He did a one off radio commentary back in 2007 (European gp) for bbc 5 live though. So he has commentated for Hamilton albeit not on tv.

Not often you read a KZread comment thread with only positive comments, only Murray could pull that off. We’ll miss you.

I suggested this on the Sky F1 channel and will repeat here: At the halfway point of this year’s Silverstone race, put Murray’s image and ‘With half the race gone...’ quote on all the boards and screens to pay tribute. He had a fantastic sense of humour and it’s an affectionate reminder of a legend.

Murray Walker, the voice of F1. What a legendary commentator. This second season of Beyond the Grid just gets better and better.

Listening to this on the day of Murray's passing and wow is it powerful.

I just checked his age on wikipedia - apparently 95! That made me want to see if he was older or younger than Nicholas Parsons, also going strong, and it appears they are exactly the same age to the day - both born on 10th October 1923!

Noel McGovern same. I remembered when he was criticised for shouting in one race. Now look where things have gone. He was sadly cursed with being the commentator after Murray which is probably why he wasn’t as liked as he deserved to be.

Would have love to hear more about Murray's experience in the war. Great man he is, even for non english speaking F1 fans like me.

There is a chapter in Unless I'm Very Much Mistaken where he talks about it. I'm not sure which languages the book was published in though.

Murray brought to life some of the biggest names in F1 and a lot of the smaller names. He will forever remain in my heart as the voice of F1.

I never watched any race that he's commentated but you can just feel the energy in his voice. What a legend. Murray Walker, you will be missed.

Really glad F1 managed to interview Murray Walker in-depth while he's still around! Priceless!

I hope im still this sharp in thought when im 95. Absolute Legend! Only wish him the best for the future, and thanks for the great content F1. Super interesting to listen to the man behind the microphone.

And this has to appear in my recommendations on the day he died. Rest well legend, Senna, Hunt, along with other legends now have a proper commentator up there with them.

This man is an absolute legend. I grew up watching F1 with his voice and enthusiasm. It hasn't been the same without him

I listened to most of this on the way home from work this afternoon. Absolutely fantastic interview with a legend of Formula 1. You've outdone yourself with Season 2 Tom, keep up the brilliant work.

Now,I just want to hear voice to reflect his beautiful voice of "Murraynism" even he's already done his job in Formula 1 and Motorsport in this world

There's something special about Murray Walker. Crofty tends to shout his commentary, and Martin Brundle still does a great job.

Murray was a fan, Crofty it's a job. If Murray could see a potential battle or overtake coming you could hear the excitement in his voice, with Crofty he'll just be speaking monotone till it happens and then shout. just be like "Ricciardo is in the DRS... he's getting closer, closer.. AND DOOWN THE INSIDE GOES RICCIARDO!!!!!"

Brundle is okay. Crofty is objectively bad, he made so many mistakes during first race this year and he's been doing this for years.
