What an utter joy. Murray was 100% responsible for my love of F1.

same as that. croft is not very good im afraid, he’s to false.
Oh man this makes me miss the 90s. My childhood is full of memories of Murray shouting 'Senna! Mansell! Piquet! Prost! Villeneuve! Barichello! Herbert! Patrese! Hakkinen! Berger!' with Sunday dinner smell in the background.
19:50 “Eddie don’t fuck around” Martin Brundel 😂😂
THE voice of F1. There is no exception. It was a pleasure to listen to him light up a race with his unique style of commentary. His love for the sport was genuinely spellbinding and you could almost feel him jumping out of the screen at you such was his palpable excitement. Thank you for the memories Murray. You will be greatly missed. You were the soundtrack to my childhood watching F1. What I wouldn't give to hear you say AND ITS GO GO GO just one more time. Modern commentary on F1 is great but his was special and only those who watched/listened in that era can appreciate that. There will only ever be one Murray Walker and I am absolutely fine with that. Nobody does it like him and they never will again. Fly high Sir.
Murray passed away in 2021 aged 97....an iconic commentator who will never be forgotten by those who heard him. RIP Murray
Definitely the voice of my childhood teens and younger adult years Motorsport on TV has never been the same since What a legend Miss you Murray 😢
Legend…… we need more like him
Great show. THE voice of F1. A young Ted Kravitz in the box as well.
I am German and hate the german commentary by Heiko Wasser and Christian Danner. Jochen Maas back then on RTL... I loved to hear the english version Eurosport provided at this time! Soooo I started learning english, so I could understand this great commentator, I didnt know back then... After a while, a friend of mine bought TOCA for PSX! Which featured him. Murray Walker not only is the best commentator, I have ever listened to, he is also responsible for my interest in learning english in my youth. And I need this today at my work! So Murray had a huge impact on my whole life!!! THANK YOU MURRAY!!! Nothing but love from this once little boy, now a grown man, who even had visited the UK by now. xD I just love you guys from England. :)
Never been the same for me watching F1 since he retired.
Murray Walker was one of, if not the best, changing the way how F1 was being commented on. However, he did greatly benefit from having Hunt and Brundle next to him in the booth. A second pair of eyes and complementary knowledge have been instrumental.
Thank you for sharing this great documentary on this F1 legend. His enthusiasm was one of the reasons why I started watching F1 races.
An awsome tribute to an amazingly enthousiastical vocal man, what a legend. R.i.P.
I wonder if Martin still sways his hips in the commentary box to Murrays timing? Miss you Murray, Legend.
When i had the chance to select between the channels (eurosport), i EVER preferred to listen to MW. That was so much better than our own german f1-show. It was not just about his passion, also about his professionalism and knowledge. BP, germany
Is that a young Ted kravits in the commentary box with Murray and Martin?

It is indeed Ted. He was the commentary box producer for ITV before moving to pitlane reporter.

It sure is
1997 was my first full year watching F1, and it was my favourite year watching F1 as well, especially with Murray there commentating all of those memorable moments (ably assisted by Martin). Even if Murray did have the worst case of commentator's curse that year!
Go! Go! Go!
I miss him so much. Such a crime he was never knighted.
Can't be happier that those years where 7yrs to 17. What a time to grow up watching racing. Thanks Murray for making it that much better
"This is amazing, I cannot believe this. "
Bless him, what a guy !!
Honestly growing up with Murray and having him as ‘The Voice of Formula One’ just highlights how bad David Croft et al actually are nowadays, RIP Murray
Awesome video on Murray Walker…thanks for posting!
Thanks for sharing Fifth Gear!
Watching this makes me want to start smoking again.
blimey, the footage of Murray in the box in full flow is fantastic, the arm waving is great! With today's red button and endless channels, Murray cam would sometimes be better viewing than the track action! The Barcelona 91 Senna Mansell pass, James was talking when it happened, but you can hear Murray exploding in the background!

Same story with the 1987 Mansell pass on Piquet at Silverstone.
4:53 a young Ted Kravitz standing in the doorway.
F1 has never been the same since he left
Loved Murray
I thought this was ITV and Fifth Gear wasn’t on ITV? Either way, I had this recorded on VHS, loved it!
Wonderful documentary and Murray is sorely missed, I am sure without Murrays captivating commentary F1 would have passed me by in the early 80's. Instead it was GO, GO, GO!!!
In 2023 we still miss you Murray. I wonder if those around you rest in peace? You are a Legend.
A young Ted in the commentary box
I have a few sporting passions in my life, one I play still at 53 which is Rugby, the others in no particular order cricket and F1, there is in my mind (my era) a simpatico of the best commentators. Those that are synonymous with their sport, but why? The TMS crew on cricket (too many to mention) but the late great Bill McLaren and of course the late Murray Walker. Why they had a mode/style/tempo that was and is unique to them individually, a deep interest (love?) respect for the participants/ players/racers. Most had had played or raced at some level. But what seems to be the winning methodology was the preparation prior to a match or race.
Go go go! That was F1! Great doco!
brillant video
Murray Walker simply the best
Gorgeous gentleman - Thank you
Juat loved the guy what a career)) we thank you murry
In sim racing there is a great crewchief software where I have Murray Walker commentating on every race I do online.I cant race without Murray Walker in my races...
is that Ted Kravitz next to Brundle and Murray around the 28 min mark?
At his best with James Hunt, still watch the old races, more to listen to James than to watch the cars.
42:53 Ted Kravitz, 26 years ago
Kin ell, I spotted Harold Shipman behind Murray at 0520 ish
Can anyone ID the guitar music used over the intro as the titles come up? thanks!!!
Thank you for posting ❤
A very young looking Ted Kravitz in the box with Murray and Martin
I've no proof.. but i think the timing computer was broken at Jerez in 1997.
Young Ted.
Lovely life anything but work
"I don't remember buying McLaren." 🤣 "Gosh I've done it again." 😂. I miss those days. They're all too professional now and quite a bit less passionate and opinionated. They're called commentators for a reason, they're supposed to comment on what's going on, not just confirm what your eyes have already seen.

Current commentators are always saying: "and here we see a mercedes overtaking a backmarker" yes we saw it too you don't have to announce everything you see in a few years they will be announcing things like going to pee or im currently scratching my butt
didi see that massive tool Kravitz at 5.13?
