in the video somewhere at 0.35 you can see a broken Tensioner guide. the plastic end that rubs the bottom of the belt guide is missing.

years ago , i had a mid engine rider that you had to straddle the engine . it had 5 hp , 4 hard rubber tires , bare steel seat , only something like 25 inch cut (maybe less) fixed height deck , and 1 forward and 1 reverse . hot , bone jarring , and slow as siberian molasses , but it beat pushing by a country mile . having one like this murray would've been an absolute dream come true .

Thanks David! Yep...I've been an EDC freak for decades. Well before the "EDC" acronym was a thing(Every Day Carry in case you weren't aware). Always had a flashlight, knife and tools with me. In fact, I still have my first Craftsman tool kit I bought back in the late 1980's as well as my first Maglite. I also appreciate your support! I tend to babble a bit, but there's always something going on and something to learn. Cheers! Zip~

I replaced the assembly. The brake was also worn out to the point it wouldn't stop the blade as designed. Zip~

Looks like at that angle the belt is traveling , everything better be in good order, the idler pulley and the spindle on the deck , plus all the guides have to be just right also. Nice repair Zip!

In 2015 when this unit was sold by Walmart, Murray was manufactured by MTD (Stanley Black & Decker). Or so the ID sticker depicts. My guess is, Briggs owns the company, but has sublet it out to MTD for manufacturing, giving MTD a little slice of the profits. It's difficult to see through the muddy waters with small engine companies and those who use small engines. Definitely not Murray's (MTDs or Briggs or Stanley B&Ds finest moment). But, in defense of who ever made it, this example DID last for 8 years before having an issue. After the owner took it home, the belt popped off again, so I made a house call to him and ordered a couple parts that were wore out. Namely the idler bracket and idler bracket bushing and the blade (pulley) brake/stop arm. Cheers Bob! Always a pleasure. Zip~

@@ZippoVarga 👍 but I’d Also be curious is it being plowed over rough bumpy terrain at speed to get to manicured area 🤷‍♂️ …. 😂 I thought Murray was deceased but still a website copyright to Briggs 2022, funny I thought mtd had consumed it too! , though I didn’t see no product just a coming soon .. a riding mower 🤔? … ✌️🤙
