Tony's whole arc was about how he always had his head too far into his own ass to look at the world around him and talk to people about stuff. This Strange literally gets framed as in the wrong for needlessly trying to kill her, and Strange's whole arc in the movie related to having faith in America, yet you think this trolley obsessed mess was in the right? The whole point of those storylines was that one shouldn't go for the easy answer straight away, and that life's solutions are more complicated than what a single person could ever envision.

For as self righteous as defender strange is, he was still a good guy saving America and dying a hero

What?! Self righteous?! How?! THE ENTIRE MULTIVERSE IS AT STAKE IF THE DEMON GETS HER POWERS. HOW IS IT SELF RIGHTEOUS TO REMOVE HER POWERS WHEN HE LITERALLY HAS NO OTHER OPTION?! If anything he should have just killed her to keep the powers safe. One life weighed against THE ENTIRE MULTIVERSE, is so insignificant that it’s insulting to think he didn’t just immediately kill her when he first met her just to keep such power out of evil hands. This couldn’t be an easier choice to make if you literally put a sign on her that said “instant win” in that moment.

I love how defender strange decides to use elemental spells such as ice and gravity and rocks to battle the monster when he could have just used his sling ring to teleport him and America to the book. That is what I call taking the hard way.

@@anagh1412 I wish that were the case but it’s not. They established he has a ring. They established that dream walking into an alternative version of yourself doesn’t bring anything from your present self to the alternative self and when Strange dream walks into Defender Strange they made a point to show he had a sling ring. The writer ignored this so he could have his scene. He couldve had a throwaway line and scene where Defender Strange attempts to portal and it fails and he says to America “damnit. The sling ring won’t work here. Run!” But he didn’t do that either. Part of it is because the script was written as they filmed thanks to Covid-19’s outbreak. Part of it is because the writer didn’t want to put the effort into the scene.

Previously in the MCU: Doctor Strange to Peter Parker: "In the grand calculus of the multiverse, their sacrifice means infinitely more than their lives." Maybe that's why Doctor Strange didn't try to kill America in his timeline: because a part of him knows how Spider-Man sacrificed his identity to save the multiverse after curing the villains.

The most bizarre thing here is Dr. Strange has better Spanish pronunciation than America Chavez. 😮

What a great way to start the movie, I gotta say.

After a long sequence of running away from the monster to the book of asahntheee or whatever, they are finally in reaching distance to the book, AND, have the monster temporarily prisoned. What does she do? She kinda just... waits for the monster to break free... Some of that qu-a-li-ty writing

I assume it's probably like a rechargable battery, it'll naturally build back up to its maxiumum if it's only partly drained, but if you siphon 100% of the power off you risk doing serious damage.

Couldn't he have just throw the monster somewhere far away from them after containing it with huge amounts of debris?? Just a thought. Also the movie never explains why Chavez' portals could activate inside this place, but Strange couldn't use his portals for some reason?? Did he just forget he has a sling ring? Amazing opening regardless. This "space junction between universes" as they call it, beautiful. Definitely fits the aesthetics you would expect in a Doctor Strange film.

On tje furst point, my guess is that it was taking all of Defender Strange's will and power to contain the demon, so he had nothing left to throw the minster with. Basically, it's like lifting your maximum weight directly over your head: you can't throw it, and any shift by your part could result in you simoly dropping it on yourself. As for the portals, America's are unique and multiversal, which is probably why they worked even inside the junction, plus this is Defender Strange, not our Strange, so maybe he didn't have a Sling Ring, or maybe portal magic isn't even known of in his universe.

well, marvel did kinda nerf him. because there were no awesome scenes of him. the whole movie, he was just running/in defending mode. (gargantos scene was kinda weird, seeing doctor strange with so many new powers, and not everyone, including me, like the weird fight between doctor strange and sinister strange) even despite him getting 2 solo movies, the best scene of him lies in the movie where he was sharing screen with a billion other heroes (strange vs thanos in infinity war)

this was one of the stupidity of the film. same was repeated when a strange with the darkhold got defeated by strange without the darkhold. like that's not possible. darkhold corrupts you and gives you knowledge which is dangerous. you can't just defeat anyone with darkhold that easily w/o even breaking a sweat

I know we wouldnt have a movie, but surely couldnt he have got America onto the platform whilst he holding this creature in the rubble. Strange could of brought up temporary rubble or energy steps for her to walk on whilst temporarily holding it. I know he was fataly injured, but he is still keeping this creature at bay with one hand. He was struggling the entire time whilst America was just standing shocked all the time. There was literally enough time for her to grab the book, and Strange to keep it there for a few seconds and then for them to run back. Obviously this variant is not as smart as the MCU strange. Only after this Strange is near death America decides to get over there lol......

So.... he can move floating rocks with his hands...., but they decide to walk. Makes sense. OR just stand on a floating rock and move it towards the book?....
