@@onouphriosragnarok was the beginning of the end for Thor. It focused too much on comedy at the expense of proper plot development though character development was pretty ok. Thor 1 was probably the most true version of Thor we’ve ever seen on the silver screen on top of it being a really good film.

THOR: The Dark World has been (and still is to this day) my favorite Thor movie. Then it's Thor (2011). Then THOR: Ragnarok. This? This doesn't even get a placement, I haven't seen the movie and I don't even want to. After seeing the odd few clips/trailers of it, they've turned one of the best, strongest and most powerful Marvel characters/heroes, into one big joke!

Let's face it: Gorr is a villain that should have deserved way more screen time. I don't know whether he should have appeared somewhere else before, as suggested by someone, but the audience should have seen more actions of him butchering gods because a prime actor like Bale doesn't always come around to play a supervillain like Gorr.

It SHOULD have been an entire trilogy, at bare minimum. Gorr's plot spanned 3 separate yet somehow concurrent (timey wimey) timelines in Thor's life, not to mention itself tied into something even larger. Stuffing a three timeline story into one movie of a length under 9 hours is such a abridgment of the entire narrative it isn't even worth pursuing. Well. Unless you wanted to make a shit ton of that sweet Marvel money, and miss no opportunity to make another competent, impressive male character look like a keystone cop, anyway.

The one God is pretty op. I think the writers did him dirty by giving him no real character arc though, and his villains are weak. Maybe I'm expecting too much from a character created thousands of years ago, but there's plenty of other Gods that have better stories, and are just all round more entertaining

They referenced Thanos at the end of the first movie so I thought he was gonna be the villain in the next one but then it was Ultron Thanos didn't show up until the third and im like oh this is good this is how you make a villain. I kind of thought Gorr was rushed in the comics he lost hope slowly he was starting to wonder if the gods that he was praying to were real then he sees one falling out of the sky asking for help and not only does he not help him he lets him die then goes off to slaughter other gods but in this movie he sees that all the gods are self centered and they couldn't care less about the beings that pray to them.

The way Thor talks to the kids just goes to show how much culture change Asgard has gone through. As vikings, Thor's childhood and all his friends were probably filled with learning how to fight and hearing about the glory of Odin's campaign across the nine realms. Now the kids of Asgard are actually helpless children. Without the aid of Thor's power of course.

Gorr is SO nerf here...in the comic he's one of the most strongest villain in marvel. He once killed all gods from all different cultures and made them Slaves for him. Even 3 Thors (Thor(Mjolnir), Thor(All-father) and Young-Thor(not Mjolnir) ) couldn't stop him. Even worse....the writer just decided that his necrosword turn against him. That's how powerful he is

it was a little more complex on the betrayal part. I thought that was a nice twist, gorr sets out on a crusade to wipe all gods from existence. Using the necro sword recreated a wife and child for himself. But his wife made the mistake of worshiping gorr like a god. And he did not take kindly to that, killing her. The son witnessing this, decides to betray gorr by helping thor. Its been a few years since I read the book but im pretty sure thats what happened. They just blew it trying to cram in too many thor stories in one movie. Jane foster thor, gorr the god butcher, and some parts seemed a little War of Realms/Chaos war ish.

Because Thor Ragnarok was a success in the first place. It worked because it was new and it moved the infinity saga plot forward, but it still turned Thor into a complete joke. Waititi didn't understand why people liked it, he just knew they did. So this time around he wrote Love and Thunder, turned everything into a joke. There you go

Christian Bale and Chris Hemsworth are really great in this movie in the brief moments they’re allowed to be serious or be comedic in a non-cringy way. Probably could do a 45 minute edit and eliminate all the terrible comedy and it’d be pretty good.

I honestly enjoyed this movie in theaters as a non-comic reader. Was a bit disappointed that they immediately abandoned the Asguardians plot thread, a few of the jokes were annoying like, the bit with Stormbreaker being jealous, but I did like Jane's arc and thought Mjolnir's ability to break apart and reform was pretty cool. The Eternity scene made me cry in theatres. Hope they tone down the jokes in the future and act more serious.

I hate how he talks to Stormbreaker, Axe of the God of Thunder like its a frat boy

Gore is actually a bad-ass character even in this canned version movie. I like his sword style.

The overall movie may not be good, but I like that Thor doesn't question Jane or try to reprimand her for using her powers again. He's heartbroken that she's going to die, but he lets her make that choice because at the end of the day, stopping Gorr is more important

I'm pretty sad that we didn't get Gorr to live at the end of this film. As everyone else mentioned, in the comics he grows to be one of the most powerful villains in Marvel. But I guess that's what happens when Sony doesn't allow Marvel to work with the rights of Spider-man which could of made a bigger impact on this film and further more. I didn't mind this film being what it is, but it could have been so much better. Who knows, maybe we may see him again in "What if?".

Gorr is in my opinion the second greatest villain in the MCU's performance. Bale's performance literally brought me to tears with how beautifully he portrayed him.

Something I noticed after Thor threw Stormbreaker to Axel is that he put it to the ground and turned it just like Heimdal (his father) does when he activates the bifrost with his sword. It's a neat reference to what his father used to do.

Don't blame Marvel. The real evil is Disney who bought Marvel. Marvel used to have balls before Disney took over. Have you seen the Punnisher series when it was on Netflix? Straight up legit. Also, Daredevil (Wilson Fisk decapitating a dude with a car door. It was outstanding). Now we have this woke shit.

Yikes. Until now I’ve felt like I missed out on something by not having seen this movie yet. This will be one of those ones that I watch years from now when it’s on tv and there is nothing else to watch.

I loved this final battle. Instead of the kids running and hiding, Thor gave them the power to fight back. Usually kids in movies are helpless and run away from the bad guys, but Thor gave them some juice and they kicked some ass. Also a brilliant song choice for the final fight too.

God butcher's actions were understandable. Imagine, the God you look up to, mocks and belittles you when you tell him that you're suffering. Just like thanos, God butcher was a misunderstood villain

He's stuck in the past, thinking if only everyone listened to him, things would be fine. So stuck in fact, that even with literal omnipotence in his hand, that's still the solution he comes up with. they cut it apart due to disney copyright issues. the full clip involves the kids fighting to guns n roses - november rain's ending. it is awesome. the movie does have its moments i prefer ragnarok personally as my favorite.

Boring joke, now action sequence, now boring joke, now colorful cool moves, action sequence, boring joke comedy scene, now a little serious "oh my god, are we going to lose?" challenge mode, boring joke, some woke culture brave woman stuff, some shirtless man boobs, boring joke, happy ending. There's only so many times "the universe is going to end, and our hero(es) save the day" that you can do, while divorcing yourself completely from artistic writing, and expect it to continue to appeal to the mediocre expectations these billion-dollar franchises set for themselves. They'll probably resurrect Ironman to again milk the same bs format for another few movies.

Most MCU movies were never that good. People have just deluded themselves into thinking that because Endgame was so hyped up, it became “the end of an era!” Iron Man 2-3, Ultron, Captain Marvel, Thor 1-2, etc Most MCU films were always mediocre or crappy.

@@amuroray9115 I respectfully disagree. As a curiosity, how old are you? I was reading Marvel comics as far back as 1966, so I can speak to what the comics once were, and no longer are. BTW: I own an original Captain Marvel #1 from about 1971. In that comic, he was known correctly as Captain Mar-vel. I also own issues #1,2,3, and 4 of Marvel's "Not Brand Echh". Sadly, my NBE #1 is not in the kind of condition that would command over $3,000 on E-Bay.

Not really. Canon Gor took on 3 god-like Thors and defeated them all. He also destroyed and enslaved other god's from just for amusements. They made Gor weak in this movie.

Old Thor, Present Thor and Young Thor came together from three timelines to defeat Gorr and they couldn't even kill Gorr they only defeated him.

Ragnarok was 50% comedy. L&T was 95% comedy and much more cheesy. It was very disappointing. I've dismissed it as fan fiction.

im pretty sure that the worthiness enchantment also enhances or grants innate combat experience, given the fact that Thor himself was one of the greatest warriors in the nine realms and apparently it was apart of his powers.
