Aired September 26th, 1993 at 10am. The world premiere!
We're circling back and clearing through some backlog of Comedy Central reruns (and maybe a few other premieres or near-premieres).
This is from near the middle of 3rd year of Comedy Central. In its prime. Watch for lots of nostalgic commercials!
Before the episode is the very tail-end of Politically Incorrect, Penn Jillette mistakenly says the upcoming episode is Girl in Lover's Lane (an episode I currently have NO full broadcast copies of, if anyone would like to help me out with that one...).
Including: Ads for Reese's, GNC, collect calling, the Army, Ziploc fingers, Certs, Sally Struthers (Do you want to ...you get the idea by now). A movie where Robert DeNiro plays a gangster with a Bronx accent (quite the stretch for him). Another unfunny interstitial with Tom Rhodes. A promo for the sad and short-lived first-run syndication version of the NEW WKRP. A Butterfinger contest featuring The Simpsons. That gross little twerp from Married With Children talking about condoms. And many more.
Note: This is missing 1 ad break after the short. Can't win 'em all.

    Yeah, I really hate that my dad randomly skipped over one commercial break with this premiere recording. But whatever. Nothing to fix up with something that already happened 30 years ago. Very happy to see this one on your channel now! This one was definitely a nostalgic recording during the single digit years, and I was happy to see MST did a Lassie movie. I’ll gladly enjoy falling asleep to this one tonight! Good luck finding a recording of “Girl in Lovers Lane;” I REALLY wish I had that episode from Comedy Central as I love the teenage delinquent flicks.

    I’ve watched Girl In Lover’s Lane several times on KZread! That’s one of my favorite episodes. I actually first watched it when Netflix had a compilation of episodes from different seasons available to watch on their platform. Eventually they got removed.

    Cool. Thanks for this one. I will check my VHS and see what I have, but I think they may be recorded in SLP. Would you even want that?
