    The tooth brush has "tooth paste" concentrate bonded on the brush fibers, so you just need to dip it in water and go for it

    After watching all of your videos, i found out something interesting: Only in the german and the skandinavian MREs there is bread in it, even whole grain bread. In every other MRE there are just cookies and biscuits, white flour biscuits even, i guess. But not only is whole grain bread more healthier and more nutrionous, but it also fills up pretty good. Perfect for a soldier i would guess.

  • @KiwiDudeMRE

    @KiwiDudeMRE

    Thomas Cohnen I agree. Though Rye bread is probably not to everyone's taste, I think it's the perfect healthy bread product to include in rations.

  • @a_spoonman3543
    @a_spoonman35439 жыл бұрын

    Hey, that bread looks very familiar to me :) What a coincidence! The Danish BUKO cream cheese is available in every German supermarket. The brand's biggest rival is Philadelphia from KRAFT (now called Mondelez). And interestingly, the matches are from Germany. Google tells me that "Zündholz Riesa" is the name of the company but Riesa is also the name of the East German town where the company resides.

  • @KiwiDudeMRE

    @KiwiDudeMRE

    a_spoonman An inspired move putting those packs of Rye bread into rations. I think they should be the standard bread product in all rations as opposed to some of the chemically supercharged attempts contained in others. Plus the photos on the packets are great! Lol.

  • @KarimTheilgaard

    @KarimTheilgaard

    9 жыл бұрын

    Kiwi Dude I suspect the reason for the German matches and rye bread is that it is cheaper than the Danish equivalents. However, German rye bread tends to be more plain and drys compared to typical Danish rye bread, which often contains more grains and seeds.

    There are several, the largest being "Tordenskjold", named after the Dano-Norwegian naval hero. I just expect the German matches are probably cheaper. The same is most likely the case with the rye bread, which is also German and is relatively dry and plain compared to more typical Danish rye bread, that tends to contain more grains and seeds.

    DePe1987 I've really grown to enjoy that bread recently. I think it would make a good replacement for the wheat snack bread in the U.S. MRE's too.

    Kiwi Dude It is kinda lucky for you that you got to taste it. There is actually a law that forbids the bread to leave the country. But as you might have already discovered, some people do not really care about that. The danish rations are also illegal for civilians to have, soo.

    Rugbrød (rye bread) in Denmark usually comes in larger packets lasting for a week or so. Some sliced and some as a whole bread. Those prepackaged small ones seem to be German for the most part. Rugbrød is a big part of Danish life though. Our "smørrebrød" (Google it) is basically just pimped out rugbrød. Usually people will eat much simpler stuff than that. It'll just be bread with some sort of meat or pate on it. Maybe with eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers etc. as well. Nothing nearly as fancy as the smørrebrød you usually see. :) No idea what The Red Gamer below is talking about though. Looks like trolling to me. People almost always bring rugbrød if they're going on a trip. It leaves the country all the fucking time and I've never heard anything about that being talked about. Sounds like some sort of urban legend or something. Bring all the bread you want. lol

    wow, a bunch. the german ration package was already to much for in one day, iam not a good eater so to speak, but this would be wasted on me. also, its a big back, so you can only bring so much with you

    +dharkbizkit Normally you'd sort out what you think you'll eat, put it in the clear plastic bag instead of the box and toss the rest. Now in the old Danish ones you'd have 2 equally sized boxes (because they contained canned food instead of freeze dried) plus a loaf of pre-cut rye-bread that couldn't be separated into individual slices without ripping the whole thing into tiny pieces and which only function was to be used to hammer in nails etc.

    That is NOT what we got in the danish military in 2004.. At all. By far. Maybe they changed it since then, I really hope so.. "Makrelguf" (yummy mackarel) is the most horrible thing I have ever encountered in a can.

    Kiwi Dude If I remember correctly, we got 1 cardboard box & 1 can. It contained: 6 slices of rye bread 5 crackers Paté Toothbrush Toothpick Jam Fish-spread (BLEGH!) Cheese-spread Spoon Chocolate bar Protein bar Dextrose tablets Energy drink powder Fruit porridge Hot cocoa powder Tea Coffee Wet wipe Rice Raisins Chewing gum Sugar Salt Pepper Ketchup They somehow managed to fit it into a very small box, approx. 20x10x15cm. The can wasn't actually in the box, but was handed out with them. The contents of the can was usually either a bizarre Bolognese sauce made from pork, chili con carne, chicken in curry, whole minced beef-patties in gravy, or the dreaded "veal in curry" which consisted of weird gelatinous perfectly-square cubes of "veal". Horror.

    Interesting, that 70% of the labels are in english, 20% in german and 10% in danish. Also a lot of plastic-trash in that. Plus a lot of brand-names.
